are fake ids worth it?

i am 17.. almost ready for an id, but i have loads of friends that have tried using fake ids. few of them really went through with it, but those who did were almost caught, one was. So, if you're at risk of goin' downtown, is a fake id really worth it???

I never had to struggle with all these ID's, but I'd say waiting another year is worth it...

Punishment by law is not a fun way to start going to pubs....

and anyway, you can have a few at home can't you?

Ive been to pubs and Ive been to 18 films, big thrills yo. If they ask me for ID, I just say sorry no I left it at home. So I dont get served, I live with it.

Motto is: Try and get served with no ID, dont be so desperate that you need one. If it doesnt work, try again somewhere else or go drink at home.

O'er here in Germany you can drink at 16 so until I get back to the states I have no problems if I ever wanted to just go out.

I find it ironic that in the States you can marry at sixteen, you can drive on the freeway at 16, you can own a handgun at 18 and a rifle with no minimum age limit (depends on the state) but you can't have a beer until you are 21!

Wow, that is pretty stupid.

I've only had a few sips of Beer, and some Jack Daniels mixed up with Coca Cola- it was the strongest alcohol I had, even when watered down. I am about 3 and a half months from being 16, so I can get my L's drivers license. That will be at the start of Year 11.

I don't like fake ID's, but they seem like fun. I heard about a 13 year old guy at my school having sex with a 14 year old girl from another school.

Dam, people want to have sex earlier these days with Fake ID's used to buy Cigs, Booze, Condoms etc.

Why would anyone need fake ID to buy condoms? I mean if a kid was going to have sex you might be concerned about it but you'd be a pretty irresposible pharmacist if you refused to sell them to someone who could otherwise totally screw up their life.

Quite frankly, I think it's pretty stupid that they draw such a solid line at an age mark; And one that varies culture-to-culture at that! My thoughts are that people should have a universal maturity test, rather than just looking at someone's age and just assuming that they're responsible. Because assuming things, is very irresponsible and a generally stupid thing to do.

The maturity test wouldn't be "Will you do this?" so much as... Well... I'm not too sure, but I'm sure that sombody smarter than me would be able to think something up.

On alcohol, they say our bodies can't "take it" until we're 21, yet, in most European countries, the drinking age is 16. Inconsistancy, here? We aren't two different species.

I reckon that drinking in pubs should be for over 21s only. Drinking outside pubs I don't care because I don't hang out down the park any more. But I hate it when youngsters are in pubs.

The few times I've had to use a fake I.d it's worked perfectly. The vast majority of the time I don't even get carded, and if I do, I can't be bothered to use an id, I’ll just go somewhere else.

Though...A mate of mine is getting some Aussie fake I.d's to see if he can't piss of some shop keepers or something.

I live in the netherlands, am 17, so drinking is legal, getting weed (which I don't want) wouldn't be a problem and well, all those clubs where you have to be 18+ don't really appeal to me.. so.. no problems over :)

Hell, the first time I got drunk was when I was 4, hehe. I was somewhere with my parents, on a party or sth, and i somehow got my hands on a bottle of wine. I was singing drunk and had a drunker hiccup ;].

Back here it would be hard to find kids (like 14 yrs old), who weren't drunk yet or haven't tried ciggarets. I myself was ok with drinking when I was about that age (14), I started smoking about the same time (although i've quit smoking 16 days ago :D). Hardly anyone uses a fake id, eventually sometimes someone changes their birth date on their school id, but it hardl ever works. Then again i've heard of only one person who had problems about a fake id (he had a long talk with the police and let free). The thing is, that you don't need a fake id - there are zilions of places, where you can buy alcohol/cigarets without even the need of showing anything to anyone, and it's natural for most of polish youth. BTW, the limits here are - 18 for cigarets, 18 for alcohol, 18 for a driving licence and 18 for getting a handgun (although getting one is in fact very hard).


I don't think it's good. I get really pissed off when i see a smoking 14 or a drunk one. Even if i was one just a few years ago.
