Okay, there we go, a nice poll with several options so we can figure out exactly how many people claim to be the obsessive freaks WW speaks of.

I like it alot, but I'm not obsessed with it. No particular reason.

I can't get myself to watch it.

I don't like it, and i've really tried to enjoy it, but it's just not for me.

I've tried Dragonball Z, and I watched classics as Akira and Ghost in the Shell,
I switched off halfway, I just can't enjoy it.

Akira's a bid dirty at the end, when he squeeses that girl to death, and you see her face turn to blood 0.0.

I'm excessively loath to watch anything that glorifies a human mouth to blink.

Eyes blink. Mouths do not. *blinkblinkblink* OHMYGOD in heaven!

What freaks in those films.

Not to mention such disproportionate women.

Yu-gi-oh seems slightly more tolerable for kids' mainstream anime, though only because my sister watches it and I catch passing snippets of that silly Pegasus character laughing so maniacally.

^J^

And the Titanic sinks.

i choose 'i think its great' although i'm not an anime zealot... i have just seen a poo load of it... In fact I just screened the 1st episode of about 6 different series and wanted to bash my head in after watch half of them...

also anyone who does not give the classic warner brothers (bugs bunny and all that) the respect it deserves... is an ass clown...

Hot piss! you watched Dragonball fucking Z PoofBird ?! Who the hell directed you to that crock of utter shite. its just a bunch if more and more ridiculas characters sounding like they have having life-or-death situations with their bowl movements.

Watch some proper anime. Like Cowboy Bebop. Then make a decision.

I tried some different kinds of anime. good anime and crap anime

Just isn't my thing.

How many Dragonball Z characters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Just the one, but they take 19 episodes to do it.

Best joke I've heard in a while. And true, too. Don't get me wrong. The show isn't all that bad, but it's not exactly must see.

However, Furi Kuri, (FLCL,) is the greatest. It's actually dubbed VERY well. It's quite insane, but it's the good kind of insane. Watch it. Trust me.

Oh, I respect it.
I can spot quality, even if it doesn't appeal to me.

God that is so true. One of the reasons I don't like DBZ.

Anyway, I answered "I love it". :rawk:

Some of the DBZ fight scenes are cool though. I like the one when Super Buu Kicks Gohans ass.

But yes, it would be nice if they cut down on the number of episodes- abit too long for my liking.

I like DBZ to an extent, but the draging-out-ness ruins it alot.

Mexican Pie

Especially when it's dragged out to nearly 300 episodes:mad:.

I reckon!

I'm mean seriously, did they really need to do the whole Goku-and-Vegeta-stuck-inside-Evil-Buu-which-is-really-not-possible-anyway-but-we're-just-going-to-piss-people-off-even-more-by-lengthening-Buu's-life-even-thought-people-know-he'll-die-in-the-end-cos-otherwise-there-would-be-no-point?!

I've never watched much anime.

I like manga though. I'm getting slowly into that. And a lot of anime is based off the storylines in manga.

I know people who like anime, watch it a lot, but are still normal people. They don't become obsessed with it. However, I do also know people who ARE obsessed with it.

I answered "I like it." I've never bothered watching DBZ, however, I'm afraid my brain cells would explode.

I think that lots of anime is beautiful and can see its quality... however I just cannot bring myself to enjoy or watch any of it.

so ummm being that this thread is in the debate forum... does anyone remember what the debate was about?... i know the subject was 'anime' but what about it?... yeah some people like it and some people don't... big deal... how is this a debate?...

i'm glad poofbird gave it a try... even though he didn't like it.. thats fine... i tried giving baseball a chance, but the truth is... i think its horribly boring... and i'm american!

as far as the dbz thing... why do you watch it if you don't like it? or are you like me and like to watch train wrecks... horrible...yet... you can't help but watch...

DBZ draged out?
no way (note sarcasim)
anyone remember when it took them at least 4+ eps to wait for 5 minutes to pass.

Ha, I hate baseball myself. It's guys hitting a ball and running around in circles. Over and over again. Simple as that. What's the point?

But just as long as you give it a try (and not hentai, unless you're into pornography) that's okay with me. Some people don't like the storylines, some people can't get past the art and how alien it is compared to traditional western animation, just as long as you look at the good stuff and not crap like pokemon and DBZ (or Hentai, to a degree) and make your judgement solely on that shit.

Some DBZ episodes are pretty good quality, though. Afew things I didn't like about it were:

-They completely changed their conversations. I like like it when the English version is translated from the Japanise version in pretty much word for word. Like in HellSing.

-They didn't swear anything bad- a punch to the gut several hundred times would only result in them saying "Darn You/It/Them/Me!" I would prefer them just saying it like in the Jap version.

-Some of the music was pretty bad. Some of them werent even for the appropriate situation.

-Cutting out scenes in the episodes alot.

Etcetera.

The problem with Dragon Ball Z in thje west is that they decided it's a kids show. It's not. If you get the original Japanese versions it's fucking harsh. That's the main problem. Then we get onto things like cliched plot etc. but I can live through them.

I quite like the cowboy be-bop and outlaw star series, they have more adult themes and violence :) so does the animatrix.

Another DBZ problem is the fact hat five minutes (some fight with Freiza) takes about three episodes up.
Gundam wing + other gundam series' =good
