I'm expecting a very generous loan (see my sig) and upon receiving it will start a rupie lottery. You pay 50 rupies and choose 5 numbers (from 1 to 50). I will then use the RAN button on my scientific calculator to get five numbers. The prizes are as follows.

No numbers: A 50% discount on your next ticket.
1 Number: 20 rupies
2 Numbers: 40 rupies
3 Numbers: 80 rupies
4 Numbers: 200 rupies
5 Numbers: Three quaters of takings (or 500 rupies, whichever is bigger). Watch this thread for when it's gonna begin. See ya.

1) The numbers go up to 50
2) I'd guess he's planning 17 entries, as 500 rupies would be 3/4 or something like that

Right, in my calculator i have put in 1-50. I will press RAN 5 times and write down the numbers. They will then be posted in this thread.

The first draw is when at least 3 people have bought a ticket. So come on and buy one. When i have sold three tickets I will announce the date.

We can do this daily...the numbers for 2day are 13(Tusks) ,41(Tusks),7(Mungo + Sheep Go Moo) ,2,50. So Tusks gets 40 and Mungo and Sheep go Moo get 20 and NIGHTCOW gets a ticket for only 25 next time! Thanks 4 playing. The next draw is on tuesday at 6:30

P.M me your numbers to enter. The rules are practically the same except you can now buy more than one ticket and for an extra 20 rupees you can merge 2 tickets together.

Eg. You get: 1,3,5,7,9,11 and 2,4,6,8,10,12 and merge them into 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12.

If the numbers drawn are 1,4,7,3,8,10 then you’ve won and you wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for merging so play straight away!

I reckon I could get a lottery to work except I lack funds and I don't think we really need one when we've got the roulette thread et al. Plus people are money-hungry enough as it is.

with 1 and 2 numbers correct, you still loose

guessing a number right is a 0,02 chance. Asuming the same number cannot come up twice, the chance of guessing the second number right is 0,02040816 etc
so the odds slowly rise

however, to get 3 numbers correct it would be a chance of:
0,02 * 0,02040816 * 0,02083333 = 0,0000085034
however there are 10 different combinations possible (5! / (3! * 2!) if my memory serves me right), which makes a stunning 0,000085034 chance of a winning 80 rupies

with 4 numbers it is (0,02 * 0,02040816 * 0,02083333 * 0,02127660) * (5! / (4! * 1!) = 0,0000009046172 and a bit

the chance of guessing all five numbers is: 0,00000000393311827

the combined chance of winning anything: 1 / 11636

in the roulette thread, even the worst odds are still 1/37

this is either very poorly thought through, or a shameless scam to get rich quick and easy...

i strongly advise not to bet here

in fact, i think my calculations could be a bit off, as i was really crap with this chance maths... Nearly screwed me on my exams, while i was quite good at all the other forms of maths.
