Sticker Mayhem [repost] [pics++]

I did this ages ago, as one of the first things to put into HOCAS. As theres plenty of new members now, and after a quick poll in IRC, i'm posting it again \o/.

The Preparation:

First, I made up some sticker designs using images borrowed (stolen) from stavrosjr's site. ((Advertistment: http://fopg.cheesefarm.co.uk/ go here for more lovingly drawn charactors, fresh from stavrosjr's mouse))

Then I shoved some self adhesive printable film into the printer and hit print. It promptly jammed and took me 20 minutes to get it working again.

Then I put the paper in the right way up and printed out 2 sheets, with 7 stickers each on. Then i cut them out using the device known as scissors (tv remote was not involved in the cutting out process).

I admired my handiwork for a while...

The Mission:

First stop was at the park, a prime place for warning signs.

In town I found some strange people who I narrowly avoided.

In the shopping centre toilets: pic is dark because I'm not gonna use the flash in a toilet cubicle.

And another on the sinks. Image is blurred cos I heard someone opening the door just as I pressed the button and had to hide the camera.

Back at the carpark, I spied a quick chance to get to the ticket machine which I missed the first time because it was too crowded.

I tried to snap someone using that machine, but a woman was giving me suspicious looks so I legged it.

The Aftermath

The only sticker in town to survive more than a week was the one on the parking ticket machine, but eventually that got cleaned off too.

The one on the postbox survived for at least 2 months.

I even saw a postman opening it right in front of me with the sticker there. Unfortunately I think the weather eventually took it's toll on it.

The last remaining sticker to my knowledge, is also the furthest travelled.

:D great stickers. ill hopefully run a few off for mah bmx (with permission). there is a big competition coming up over a weekend in derby so i may cause some havock with the set if i can get a sticker set going.

wooo, anyone else up for giving this a go?

the thrill of trying to discreetly place stupid stickers in public places and then having to take pics as well :D

I'd certainly do it again if others are wanting to as well.

i would realy like to do that sort of stuff, but i dont have a digital camera, and my reguler cam is a little to big to be huling around every ware, but i think i can so some things like that maybe bus stops i can put a sticker of weebl saying lo. and the web address underneath

I do stickering the way the london police does, but not quite as big or as much as they do. I post pictures of toads all over town:D

because the paper i had only worked on a laser printer, and i only have a b/w laser printer at my disposal.

Sure (you can even print them on salami and fasten them with needle and thread)...but that takes the joy out of going back on the reconnaissance mission later to see which ones survive. One good rain storm and all your hard work is paper pulp and goo.
