I know there is a horse racing thread, but instead of gambling, I like to reward people with rupies for their skill, and not deprive you of your hard earned moneh.

A nap is your tip for a horse that is going to win.

I want you to choose a horse in a race (up to 3 horses a day, but only one horse per race) that you think will win.

If that horse wins, I will give you 5 rupies, or the money you would have won, if you had placed a £1 bet, whichever is more.

Example 1

You picked Harbour House in the 2.10 at Brighton yesterday.

It won at 9-1. You win 9 rupies (you had no stake to give back)

Example 2

You picked Buz Kiri in the 3.40 at Brighton

It won 5-2. You win 5 Rupies as the starting price was 5-2, meaning you would have only won £2.50 rupies

I hope that's clear. If there's no interest in the thread, then let it die and never mention it again. All winnings will be rounded up, and if it looks like I'm running out of rupies, I'll have to stop. Hopefully I'll get rupies from the posts, if it's a success.

All entries added/edited after the start will be ignored.

The Teletext website (http://www.teletext.co.uk/racing/todays_racing.asp) is a good source for all the races of the day, and shows the form etc. As does racing post (www.racingpost.co.uk), but you have to register for that one to get the full benefits.

Even if you know nothing about racing, give it a go. In my experience, it's a bit of a lottery anyway, and it's costing you nothing to enter.

Good man.

Although I could be bankrupt if some of those win ;)

just thinking I'm going to put a limit of three horses a day from now on, due to the fact that you could pick a horse in every race of the day, and it would take me ages to sort it all that. Oh and damage limitation. ;)
