Just to prevent further offtopicage of the sticky thread.
there is a question which we are all wondering
Who will be the most appropriate mod(s) and why?
You can cheese this if t doesn't belong here, just please dont do this in the rules thread any more.
I think that AngryPaul and PoofBird will be the mods, as AngryPaul knows all about sports (at least far more than me) and gambling (again, at least far more than me),
and PoofBird A. Already a mod, so experience is there
B. Clearly has a firm understanding of gambling (roulette thread, I got very confused but he seemed to understand it all)
C. Can teach AngryPaul (of whom I have already mentioned) the ropes of moddage
so what do you guys think?

This doesn't happen with other sections.
Let admins decide and no more popularity contests.
Yus?
EDIT/ I agree with your choices though.
EDIT/ *cough* popularity contest *cough*

Angry paul. Hes not a mod yet and I think its about time a new mod was added..but then, there might not be a mod. Pap doesn't even have a mod...

No, all the speshul interests forums have mods, I can think of one reason but it's a bit complicated to put into words, at least, not mine.
and zola, I made the thread so that we could stop this in the Rules thread
I think angrypaul should be the mod. For all reasons listed above except one.
He's cool...

AngryPaul and PoofBird sounds good to me in the beginning.
Then eventually take PoofBird off, as he has his own forum to mod, and by then would have taught AP enough to let him on his own.
Dr S should also be considered as it was he who campaigned so hard for this forum.
Poofbird.. because he's a mod already and has experiance.
actually i think Jonny migh be a good mod- his stock market stuff was very impressive!
woo jonny!
we all know ill be the best mod...

Heh..someone said me. *smug* But lets face it, I'd be too strict/unexperienced to be a mod.
The area doesnt reallt need a mod that much. Just need the occasional visit from someone with admin powers to keep all in order....actually..a mod would be sensible..forget what I just said..:D
JohnnyFFmaster could be considered a candidate. You could suffice, Johnny.

Being a mod on other boards - i know that you dont really need experience of being a mod to be a good one, and just quickly looking at the most recent posts Jonny and AngryPaul seem to be some of the most active here, so i think that either of them should be the mod, but saying that i am a newbie here so this place might work differently to others:)

Yeh maybe. You never know I suppose..
To be fair, poofbirds been away alot, so he couldn't post tons. Such as now, he's away for a day.

I don't know if people failed to notice a couple of posts in the stucked thread. let me refresh your memory.
I think you all should calm down about the mod thing.
Wasn't there just three posts saying don't worry about the mods, and you continue to discuss it? Right now you'll have to wait until an admin elects someone, and do remember, we have Super Mods as well.
The admin team will decide this, whenever they find it fit. going on and on about this will not change their final decision. As I have mentioned before, this thread is a waste of bandwidth and will turn into a popularity contest.
I find it slightly sad that you have nothing better to do than create shite threads that are meaningless in the greater scheme of things.
I understand the need for a moderator for this forum, as it could easily spiral into a large amount of spam. to be honest (as i always normally skate around the subject, mostly i plain lie), i can see hat happening already.
If you pick at it, it will only make it worse. so by bar logic, if you leave it alone, it will get better soon enough.
so, why don't you all stfu?
EDIT:
Tusks, I thought i would remind you of this:
Father, forgive me, for I have many problems, but the current problem that is on my mind is that I do indeed post tosh. I have had this problem from the beginning, from when I was once known as HyperWizard, For you see, Father, I never had a newbie post, I began in weebls stuff where the palace didn't exsist, I jumped straight in, and indeed, I was crap.
Recognise this?
You posted that 10 days ago. its good to see you don't actually bother to think about posting still.

To add to Work?'s very valid points, from my experience of these boards if a new forum is created then soon enough a mod is appointed, and any threads that discuss 'who should be mod' generally seem to be ignored by the people that make the decisions.

true, but i dont think theres any harm in getting an opinion, we all know that the powers that be will are going to make the decision and i doubt anyones gonna be upset about who is picked ('cept jonny, if dont get picked i think his smugness might turn to sweet sorrow:p )

tbh I discussed "who will be mod" with people on MSN. Not here though, for reasons pointed out by Micky and Work?.
tbh again, I don't see the sudden interest in Jonny for mod. Why him? I'm not gonna discuss anymore because it's just not suitbale here. As I said before - Let the admins choose.

I would, but i'm trying to keep people on my MSN list to a minimum, because i mean, take now for example. not even that many people are online and I have 3 conversations going on. Gets abit much.
And really, I dunno why me....I said I wouldn't be a very good mod.

I think AngryPaul would be the best moderator for this forum. He knows all about all this betting stuff, and I think he would be the best person for the job. :D
But as stated, it's all up to the Administrators.

I'm wondering if anyone remembers a thread started in Pap about a month started by "the poster formerly known as twig" and entitled "official poll for a new section".
In it the idea was first brought up and Angry Paul was suggested as a possible mod. At the time everyone seemed to agree. It is from this that Dr. S started his two threads and began petitioning Weebl (of which I am proud to be in).
Therefore Angry Paul, Cap'n Zola (Twig is much catchier), and Dr. S are the the 3 who made this possible. Why not give it to all 3?
There is really no one else who worked hard enoug for this that they should be considered (except for PB, but he also has HOCAS).
[/debate]
I actually asked for a sports forum before at the same time I tried to get a media (meeeeeeeeeeeeeeja) forum in this thread
http://www.weebls-stuff.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6968&highlight=mess
but my vote has to go for AngryPaul as hes a keen Sports fan and knows how to have a good gambeling thread.
:D
As far as I know PoofBird isn't interested in sports so having him as a mod I don't think would work, and as pointed out first he has Hocas to keep him busy. But saying that he also has a really popular gambeling thread.

I think that Angry Paul and Dr.S should be mods, however i agree with Work?, this won't make any difference to the mods decision.

From my point of view i think it should be Dr S and someone else bacause it was his idea to start the sign up threads and he PMed weebl with the results, i think he would make a good mod although a little power mad, but he would do a good job, seems to know what hes talking about, although when he starts talking sports to me i just hit him, but yehr... Dr S..... Good Choice i think .... Good
can i have my money now?

Unfortunately I don't care. there are enough mods on the forums to keep this one in check as well.
