Formal-ish Pics of You [56k BLAH]

Firstly, I am rather pissed off now because I typed out this whole post and then my browser crashed before I could post it and so now I have to type it again and I've forgotten most of it. RAH!

Anyway, seeing as my Year 11 Semi-formal was last night, I've decided to post some pics of me all dolled up and also see how nicely everyone else scrubs up with a bit of soap!

Secondly, looks can be decieving. Just because I look happy doesn't mean I am. I almost went nuts (and developed an eye twitch) from the sheer amount of camera flashes. Also, all my fake nails fell off because of the damn smoke on the dance floor. I don't know why they use that crap because it makes me want to puke.

This first pic is of my date - Will - me and one of my best friends - Sam. At this stage I was rather excited since we hadn't gotten to the venue yet. Little did I know that that night would become another forsaken memory that I would want push deep down into the dark and unused part of my subconsious.

As those of you on IRC would know (and if you don't, pay attention now) I have been excited about this whole thing for the past 3 weeks. I was gunna be able to see Will again and have fun with my friends and generally not give a shite about anything.

As it turns out, Will wasn't very intent on spending much time with me at all. I figured out that he actually most probably came to spend time with Sam. (They both went to the same school before Sam moved to mine.) And on top of that, Sam didn't spend any time with me either. He was too busy dirty dancing with his ex-girlfriends and my best friend from 2 years ago who I would have loved to talk to but didn't end up talking to much at all.

But, not all was lost, I spent the night with my best friends Deanna and Sepideh and we had fun dancing to the shit music and complaining about how much our lives suck. Will did end up dancing - if you can call what he was doing dancing (more like a spastic chicken) - and I forgave him for not wanting to cos I know he didn't mean to piss me off or anything.

Continuing, I am now pissed off at Sam for ditching me and constantly making me 2nd best to well, everything. That's what I get for over a year of friendship. I polished his fucking ute for christ's sake! Anyway, on with the pics. I spose I look alright but as always, I was being so self-consious about my fat-ness. (Which I probably shouldn't be but I can't seem to stop comparing myself.)

You look lovely in those photos.. you shouldn't worry. Doesn't sound like people were treating you very nicely though.. I'm glad you made the best of it, I'd just have hidden away in a dark corner.

I do exactly the same thing about worrying about being fat.. I know I'm not.. but I constantly spend time worrying about it, and as I do, I eat more. So there you go, your not alone, and you look fantastic :)

And on with the horror of me at my Year 11 Prom. Hated ever minute of the damn thing, had a huge row with my friends (pics were taken before of course) which resulted in me dancing with my ex for much of the night while her boyfriend was sat chatting to his mates ^.^()
As you can probobly tell I hate the whole damn affair and would rather get happily bladdered in a t-shirt and jeans with my mates but nah.. We had to have a prom *rolls eyes* See how baddly I pull off formal wear?

its more stress & money than its worth finding a proper evening dress. i remember for the 6th form ball trailing round for hours looking for a dress that wasn't about £200. the one i got in the end was about £150 & i only wore it twice before it broke.

the one in that photo was about $30 from hot topic & i prefer it to any of the ones ive wasted loads on before that. :)

I bought all my black tie for about £200 and have worn it more times than I can remember. Not sure how much of that comes from my uni though, never quite sure how much formal stuff happens elsewhere; a ball seems to mean a different thing in Cambridge. As does May. I haven't dressed up like that for quite a while, so all these pics are going to look a bit dated... At least if you know me. That said, I've got my Grad Ball next Friday, so I'll get tarted up for that one. :) And doubtless take many hundred photos... Although going on previous experience, I'll be behind the camera for most of the night, and will get about 2 of me, looking probably most drunk.
