I've been tinkering a bit today and came up with this:

Have a play, try not to break it, and if you do, tell me how you did it so I can fix things.

If you live in the UK but end up somewhere in the Indian Ocean, its because you have your coordinates the wrong way round.

If you appear at the top left corner, its because you have a space after your coordinate from when you pasted it.

If all the dots disappear its because someone has a weird charactor in their name or location.

If you entered coordinates like 50° 55' 53", youre very silly because it tells you not to.

If you enter silly names and places, I will delete them unless theyre quite amusing.

Yeah, whenever I put my longitude in, it's negative, and it usually changes it and ends up changing to -9.9999 and putting me in the ocean, which is probably the problem for most people.

Right think i fixed, everyone whos underwater can go edit their details and put the right ones in.

I used "decimal" as the mysql field and for some reason it has a limit of -9.99etc so i just changed them both to text fields and that seems to work ok.

silly me for only testing it with european locations :P

Its pretty scalable, and nasa have a 8000pixel version of that pic I could use :twisted: but the sites down at the moment.

If I can get a european map/photo with the exact coordinates of all the corners, I could make a close up version for us euros.

anyways, i waqs having the bit where i was up in the corner. seems when i copied the coordinates, there was a nasty little space that i didn' catch. so you corner dwellers, check your numbers and make sure there isn't a space after the numbers.

Seekkis and Empty Pie Dish had accents and non-english charactors in their location name which for some reason caught it out. I'm afraid I had to switch them for normal charactors.

EDIT:Ok, I found me, but I'm on the opposite part if the map! Well, at least I have freinds here!

EDIT: I changed the latitude by 180 so that hopefully would have brought me around Piemanmoo's coords, but now I cant find myself again, Piemanmoo, can you give me your latitude so i can adjust it from there?

heeeeelp! i just can't get myself back home! it has my latitude as longtitude and longtitude as latitude and no matter how many times i've tried to save them other way around, i still end up to be lost in somewhere that i don't even know... (at least i'm not drowning on the sea..) :rolleyes:

Would it be possible to put a search feature on this? Its practically impossible to find yourself (after putting yuorself on) if you live in Britain and it would make it easier to see if anyone lives near you. I know lots of people who watch weebl & bob but don't know if any of them are actually on the forum so would be nice to find out!

if ur having trouble, its because when u enter ur lat n' long, they switch so enter ur lat in the long place and ur long in ur lat

This is my first post (how n00bish was that???!!!???)
I managed to stick my place of origin, Habrough. A village of about 400 people on the East Coast of England. I feel kinda sorry for the guy who made the program if he had to type in all of the results by hand!

Holy crap that's awesome. It's neat to look at the map and see where weebls people are concentrated, UK, Scandinavia, Germany, US, Canada, Australia. It's just too bad some jackasses decided to mess it up with their stupid bullshit.


PS: You guys should all know that since this is a flash type thing, you can all use the right mouse click menu to zoom in considerably.
