Post match comments: I am very disapointed with our defeat today, i can only put it down to the quality of our opposition. It is crucial to win our next game to build the teams confidence and try and give our campaign some momentum. I am also still hoping to buy some players, although there is no one currently on the transfer list who would be right for us.

There will be some newer players on the transfer list by this time tomorrow. I am waiting until after my exams are over to take the time out to update the site. We will then have a full array of talent available for you all!

Post-Match Comments: I was disappointed today, our team had the potential to do better than that today. However I was once again pleased with Marc, and despite recent transfer rumours he's managed to score another today. More effort is needed when we face Peterborough, who I understand suffered a setback today. We will always be wary though, as more often than not a team who have lost that badly can bounce back the week after.

Next Week's Fixtures Review

Leeds Wednesday [9th] v Glasgow United [2nd]
Leeds Wednesday need to react to the hardh 1-0 defeat at home by FC Bristol by recording their first points of the season. The former champions are on the verge of being written-off as title challengers, as they are lying 9 points behind 1st place. Glasgow United have kept their chase for 1st up and continued their battle for 3rd. Rudd van de Bruggin has been inspirational for them and will be expected to add to his tally for the season.

London North [7th] v Peterborough Athletic [10th]
London North will be hoping to record their first win of the season at home to hapless Peterborough. London will be relying on the strike power of Marc van Hooven after he impressed on his debut. Peterborough have a manager gone AWOL as they were thumped 5-0 in Stockport. Expect this one to be a very one-sided affair with van Hooven in the thick of things.

FC Mersey [3rd] v Birmingham South [6th]
FC Mersey will be looking to continue their unbeaten start against an indifferent Birmingham South who have experiecned every result - loss, draw and a win. Roque was on the score sheet for the 3rd game in a row and took his tally to 7 for the season, so the Birmingham defence must be aware of him adn his free-kick skills.

FC Reading [5th] v Stockport FC [4th]
The battle for the possiblity of a European place is already hotting up as these two go head-to-head. Stockport will be bouncing after the JFL's biggest win of the season (5-0 against P'boro). Reading however need to reply to the 4-2 home loss to FC Mersey with a fine display echoing that of their 3-2 win over Leeds Wednesday. A great game in prospect with an even game expected.

Wigan City [8th] v FC Bristol [1st]
Wigan go into the game without a win to their name this season, however they will hope to cause an upset when they entertain the leaders FC Bristol. AngryNinja's team will be in high spirits after maintaining the only 100% record in the league. they will be aware of Glasgow United and FC Mersey breathing down their knecks, equally Wigan have the bottom two - Leeds and P'boro - vying for that place above relegation.

Post Match Comments - we performed well today to pick up our first win of the season and rise two places in the League. De Rossi played well with to assists and i think the late goal will have boosted their confidence. i think this match was won not only by the player but by the tremendous support from the fans in our first home match.

Reaction to Cup Draw:
Well, it wasn't the draw we wanted, but I guess we'll have to put up with that. Ideally we'd have liked to get our rivals in the South, but as we have Birmingham I'll have to rally the troops. Hopefully we can build confidence with our first win beforehand, but I know my team will give their all.

Orlando linked with Wigan City
Today manager sheep go moo fuelled rumours that Spanish striker will be on his way to Wigan. On talking about his JFL Cup match against FC Essex: "I am sure that my men will do well and with us hopefully being joined by Orlando" The spanish striker is said to be of high interest to many JFL clubs including Stockport FC, but was staying tight-lipped on the situation.

Dutton again linked with JFL move
English defender Stuart Dutton is again interesting JFL sides as a reported bid from Stockport was made today. "I am flattered at the interest from the JFL adn would love to play there. Stockport would be a great team to join, but I will be open to other offers until I sign a contract with a club."

Stockport FC: Reaction to the Cup Draw

I'm happy with the draw. Obviously it would have been nice to get drawn against a team in a lower league, but then victory is never guaranteed, and if you want to win the cup, you have to beat the big teams somewhere along the line. It's a great fixture for the fans - both sets - and I think it will be a corker of a game. Both teams are in good form, and capable of scoring. It'll be a tough game - Bristol are undefeated and have a good manager - but that won't put us off, and I hope the home advantage will pay dividends for us, and help us get the victory.

Orlando joins Wigan city in £9.5m deal
Today striker Orlando became the first Wigan City signing of the season, as he completed a £9.5m transfer. He said of his move: "I cant wait to get started in the JFL. I have been looking forward to playing in this league for a long time now and am really excited."

FC Reading de Wurrggen bid rejected
FC Reading have failed to secure the services of Belgian midfielder Sean de Wurrggen after they had a £7.5m bid rejected. de Wurrggen - who has reportedly been scouted by FC Mersey - is keen to move to the JFL but he is only allowed to do so at the right price. "I am looking to play in the JFL but I am afraid that my club wont allow me to leave for less than the asking price."

Portman moves to Greenbank Road
Irish striker John Portman today signed an £11m transfer to JFL leaders FC Bristol. The Bristoliasn are looking to consolidate their position at the top of the league with the purchase of a world-class striker and after missing out on Marc van Hooven to London North, finally secured a player of that quiality.

London issue JFL Cup warning
London South manager Andrew Parks has issued a warning to his 2nd Round Premier Divison rivals FC Reading. He mentioned that: "After beating Hitchin Town so convincingly (6-0) in the first round we are confident we can match that performance against Reading. I believe we can overcome Reading just as emphatically." This statement could annoy FC Reading manager dogincognito as his side prepare for a mid-table crunch with Stockport this week.

Endingburgh relishes possible Scottish debry in 3rd Round
After the 3rd Round draw was made, Endingburgh City manager Danny McCallister was looking forward to facing up against his Glasgow rival Cap'n Zola, as the winners of each teams ties would face each other. "I think I can speak for the fans when I say that the prospect of a Scottish tie is amazing, but me and the team know that we have to concentrate on the game against Yeovil beforehand and hope that they can beat Peterborough"

a) Where will the money come from?
b) How do you propose paying it off? Do you really want us to make this a 'Leeds' situation, whereby a club doesn't succeed where planned, can't afford the loan and goes into administration? :p

or a smarter idea:
you pay the money over a period like you can in CM/real life

The problem is that if you dont get enough money in winnings/player sales itll get all messed up :(

Or you could just put up with the fact youve got no more money, and spend more wisely when you get some more.

POST MATCH COMMENTS:
Well at one point we were 3-1 up, and Orlando was really shining.
But then the defence just calmed down and that was our downfall, but a draw is better than a lose.

It was a good match today. Glad we've got our first win under our belt and hopefully we can go from strength to strength. Marc was important for us again - he's definitely been a good signing - but our entire team were bound together to pull this one out of the bag.

Match Reports

Leeds Wednesday 2 - 2 Glasgow United
Glasgow United fell behid the chase for top spot as Leeds Wednesday earnt their forst point of the season. Leeds started well and looked more dangerous and soon took the lead as Hill burst down the wing. A quick one-two with Antonio left the Glasgow defence static as he slotted in for his 1st goal of the season. It was ineviteble that van de Bruggin would add to his tally and he soon did as Sergie played him in for the equaliser two minutes later. He should've had added to that as he beat the offside trap but fired against the post.

Half-time: LW 1 - 2 GU

He did, however, make up for that miss as he returned the favour - laying-up Sergei to blast in from outside the box. Leeds finally got the point that they have deserved all season when Garrick floated in a corss and El Hadj ran in unmarked to nod past Portman.

London North 2 - 0 Peterborough Athletic
London North breezed to a first victory against hapeless Peterborough. Marc van Hooven showed why Dingbat paid £11million for him as he dribbled through the Peterbrough midfiled, exchanged passes with Webster and curled a great shot into the left top-corner. London should have built upon that great goal but failed to break down the fdefence.

Half-time: LN 1- 0 PA

The game was sealed as van Hooven again showed his class as he stepped up and struck a swerving-curling free-kick to double the lead. Peterborough were down and out and their season looks grim if they continue to creat less and less chances.

FC Mersey 3 - 1 Birmingham South
FC Mersey climbed to the top of the table after a good performance against a tough Brimingham. South held the game for the most, but Mersey showed their class and dominated in the latter stages and clinched it. The first-hlaf was with little incident apart from a Johnson goal ruled offside.

Half-time: FCM 0 - 0 BS

The second-half - in contrast - was a thrilling encounter and soon burst into life as Johnson kept the defence at bay until Lucas made a looping run and blasted into the net for a deserved lead. However they dropped back and seemed happy with the thin lead. But they leaked goals in the last eight minutes. Roque was instrumental and assisted in the cross that led to Cardazo's headed equaliser. From the kick-off Birmimgahm were caught in possesion and Victor laid the ball to Roque who cracked a 30-yard shot past the keeper for the lead. Birmingham were again undone as a save led to a corner. Cardazo played in the set-piece and Medri rose to nod in the goal that puts Mersey top.

FC Reading 4 - 5 Stockport FC
The most unbelievable match occured in the battle for the mid-table in the JFL. The lead changed hands no more than 5 times! It all started with Reading taking the upper hand as del Rosa sent Jarrell through who chipped the keeper. Four minutes later Stockport came back as van Haven burst the net with a thunderous drive from 30-yards. Anja - who assisted in van Havens crakcer - gave Stockport the lead as he nodded in from Garricks corner. Dylan Coral Thompson equalled the game again as he recieved Jarrell's lay-off and curled a shot from outside the area into the net. Eight minuted laster it was Reading who had the lead as new boy Omar headed in from a del Rosa free-kick.
van Haven levelled the game before the half-time whistle as Juan faked a shot and left van Haven unmarked for a simple finish.

Half-time: FCR 3 - 3 ST

The second-half contained less goals but was just as thrilling. Juan again faked the shot and then laid off to Miguel who curled a 7th goal of a game into the net. The game was equalled for the 4th time Thompson got involved in a slick move which consited of 17 passes before the ball was crossed into an unmarked del Rosa who deserved a goal. van Haven completed hi hat-trick as Anja took on two defenders and curved a pass into van Havens path who made no mistake in scoring the 5th. Reading did press for a 5th equaliser, but shaved the post as a deflected Jarrell shot was sent goal-wards. Great game.

Post Match Comments: I am extreamly pleased with the second half preformance shown from the lads this evening. The first half was a little sloppy and we where obviously quite shaken after going a goal down, but the lads managed to keep their heads and finish the game with three class goals. I will be expecting the form that has seen us rise to 1st place to continue in the league and we will be setting our sights on cup glory.

Though the team is preforming well, there are still some areas that need improvment. I'm not satisfied with the current depth of some of the positions and will be looking to make changes in both directions of the transfer market.

Wigan City 3 - 3 FC Bristol
Wigan mnanaged to knocl FC Bristol from the top spot, but not before losing a two goal lead and saving Bristols blushes conceeding a late equaliser. Debutant Portman made a great introduction as his first shot curled perfectly into the top hand corner for the lead insiode 50 seconds. However, another new striker, Orlando, was also in the goal-scoring mood. He was brought down and converted the resulting penalty, but also linked well with Dani and slotted in from 12-yards for the lead a minute before half-time.

Half-time: WC 2 - 1 FCB

Wigan started the second-half as they finsihed the first, by taking the game to Bristol. Orlando came close to hat-trick as his free-kick hit the bar and rebounded out for a goal-kick. He was still involved although he didnt score for the third. He showed unselfishness as he drew out the Bristol keeper and cooly passed to Olivier Jean for a simple finish. Wigan were in dreamland - 3-1 up against the top-of-the-table team. However, their shaky defence became stale and Bristol, cameback two minutes later as Portman scored his second from a great pass from Youcann. He played the ball down the wing and Portman screwed in a shot from a near-impossible angle which flew past the Wigan keeper. FC Bristol completed a min-comeback as late as they could as Leosenki nodded in Warners corner with the last kikc. Wigan - although they didnt win - will have won themselves many fans with this performance.

We aren't performing to our best. Clearly. We should've taken the easy 3 points away today but for whatever reason, we didn't. Once again, van de Bruggin has amazed me! Well this has been a knock for my team we were riding high at the top of the league for two weeks but it seems like our luck has finally ran out. Portman 'The Drunken Irish Bloke' as we like to call him was well worth our clubs money as he slotted in the first goal in under a minute and then harassed Wigans defence through out the game giving us time to score.

I think we may have to now invest into some kind of key defensive player from the transfer market to fill in the obvious weakness that plagues the club in the back four.

Fear my Drunken Irish Striker. He shall be back with some more goals this season with his rather un-sober skills. :D

Well what can I say? What a match! The main thing is the victory - that keeps the pressure on the leaders. I'm a bit concerned about our defensive display, but very happy that wih our scoring one. We've got a great team spirit, and I think it showed. THree wins on the bounce is very pleasing, and I hope we can carry this on to the cup match against Bristol. JOB VANCANCY AT PETERBOROUGH ATHLETIC

The managers job at Peterbrough Athletic was today reopened to apllicants after GXFU - the supposed manager - was sacked after failing to turn up once.

The new manager will inherit a team that is bottom of the league but could be tempted by the £18million that they will have open to spend on new players to rack up the points and drag the team up the table.

Other JFL managers are being urged to look for associated that could be interested in the vacant seat.

French striker Pierre Franz has reportedly told his agent that he wants to make a move to Stockport FC. "I think that their last game shows that they play exciting football adn I would really enjoy being associated with that type of play." Manager seaempty has yet to comment on the specualtion, however he may be forced to make a decision as Franz is said to also said to be waiting for the new Peterborough manager to be revealed to see if a move to Miller Park would interest him.

Leeds refuse to allow Peej onto Peterborough shortlist
Leeds Wednesday today - prematurley - denied any link that manager Peej could be the new manager of Peterborough Athletic. Peej spoke of the issues: "I'll be happy to stay here for years to come." He added that he was content to try and turn Leeds' season around and wouldnt take a postion of a lower club. However the JFL has not made contact with any targets about the position and say that Leeds are "purely flattering their manager" in thinking that a coach with such little experience would be of interest to Peterborough.

Stockport Press Conference
As you are aware this club has a policy of "no comment" when it comes to transfer speculation. We deal with fact. We are aware that their have been rumours in the media linking us with certain players. Keeping up this tradition,we will neither confirm nor deny this rumour, but will state that the club is very happy with the squad, especially the strikers, who have formed a formidable partnership. Any change may upset this, but strength in squad and competition for places is an important.

(From the FC Bristol training ground Greville Park)

*AngryNinja walks into the room. Cameras flash as they take shots of the manager taking his seat. He sips his water and signals he is ready to start.*

Journalist 1: "AngryNinja, how do you think your team will react to losing their 100% record at wigan City this week? Will it inspire you to a JFL Cup win?"

AngryNinja: "Well to be honest we were bound to lose or draw sometime but we shall take this mistake with a pinch of salt and try to recover and take back the top spot."

J2: "Do you think that Stockport FC will go into the game with more confidence as they managed to win such a great game (5-4)against FC Reading?"

AN: "Well as i haven't spoken to the manager of Stockport recently I will have to make the assumption that with the win came a sense of achievement that will hopefully spur them on to better things this season."

J3: "Yesterday the Peterborough Athletic managers position was made available, yet no managers have been linked to the seat as of yet. How do you feel about Leeds Wednesday releasing a statement about Peej staying put?"

AN: "Well I have to say I wasn't really impressed with the way that Peej suddenly felt that he had to tell us all that he wanted nothing to do with the bottom of the league team. I think that it was a premature and stupid thing to do and it may cost him some respect from the other managers."

J4: "How do you think that the other JFL managers will see this act from Leeds Wednesday. Isn't it extremely odd to protect a manager not in demand?"

AN: "Well the other teams can take Peej's reply as they like to be brutally honest with you. I personally think that it was a premature act of self promotion and it just shows how shallow some teams are these days."

J5: "How do you think the season has taken shape? Has anybody surprised you? Or do you think you know your mina challengers?"

AN: "Well to be honest alot of things have surprised me this season. My team being top of the league for one but also the success of the other not so well known teams. I jut hope that we can prevail over the other teams and win the league this year."

PA: "Thank you ladies and gentleman, that is all for this Press Confernece for today. Thank you for your questions and I hope you enjoyed attending."

AN: "Thank you"

*AngryNinja nods his head in acknowledgement as he gets up out of his seat - takes a last sip of water - and heads back towards the training pitches.*

Brimingham South 2 - 3 London North
Birmingham South were left heartbroken as a great comback from London North sent them crashing from the JFL Cup. Andy Johnson had given them the lead inside 5 minutes when he darted past a static London defence and slotted under Mendoza. London were shellshocked at the speedy start and Johnson went close again, shaving the crossbar from 25-yards.

The second-half continued with much of the same as as Lucas one-two'd with Johnson and thundered a shot into the top corner for a 2-0 lead after 56'. London realised what faced them and rallied for a comeback. van Hooven, as per usual, was instrumentl in leading the team in attack. Himself and Andrea Schultz exchanged passes before van Hooven drew the keeper out and simply kocked it to Schultz to grab one back at 67'. Xiemines provided a pin-point cross for van Hooven to nod in the equaliser with only six minutes remaining. It went to extra-time and it tokk only 8 minutes of that time for London to clinch the golden goal. van Hooven collected the ball from Valley, chipped the ball to Schultz, who inturn played Webster through who chipped Thompson for the winner.

Edingburgh City 4 - 0 AFC Yeovil
Endinburgh set up a Scottish derby in the Quarter-finals with a strolling victory over a below-par Yeovil side. Jim Macintosh struck inside 10 minutes from a free-kick, then James Abbey added a second after weaving through 3 defenders and chipping the goal keeper. Abbey was on hand for the 3rd as a Hayden corner was poorly-cleared and he duely rifled in from the edge of the area. Yeovil were all but dead as the half-time shistle went.

Endinburgh were aware of the game that would face them if they won this game and made sure that Galsgow knew what to expect as a move involving all 11 players was finsihed by Antoine Bryle. Glasgow can expect a great game and tough opponents when these two meet for a place in the Semi-Finals.

Orlando shot Wigan into the Quarter-Finals with a ht-tirck against underdogs FC Essex. the game kicked-off with a great atmospehere and started with a goal almost as explosive. Olivier Jean burst down the wing and curled a coirss in to the box and Orlando cracked in an unsstoppable over-head kick into the bottom right-hand corner for the lead after only 9 minutes. the hlaf then dies down a bit with Wigan taking a confortable position keeping Essex at bay.

The 2nd half was without much incident apart from the goals. In the 64th minute Orlando was fouled, picked himself up and curled a great effort into the net from 20-yards to double the lead. Orlando then took the game to Essex while the rest of the team seemed content with 2. Orlando carried on pestering the defence and soon got the sniff of goal as a short pass across the box allowed him in and smashed in his third.

Stockport FC 1 - 1 FC Bristol
(FC Bristol win 3-4 on Pens)
Stockport were unlucky to o out of the competition as they lost on penalties to FC Bristol. the game itself was nowhere near as exciting as the previous JFL matches involving these two, but the nail-biting penalty shootout more than made up for it. It all kicked-off with Stockport pressing, but being met with a stubborn Bristol defence. Bristol broke with Richtie, who dummied past Juan, but shot into the sidenetting. However, Bristol were the ones to take the lead through John Portman just before half-time. Youcann held the ball up as Portman ran into space. Portman collected the ball, sent Wheatcroft the wrong way and rifled past Rose from 25-yards.

Stockport were not downheartened about being behind and it showed in the second-half. they attacked in numbers, and although they were lfet exposed at times, got their deserved equaliser after 71 minutes. Garrick recieved the ball from Miguel. He struck a cross-filed ball to Juan who played infront the defence a ball from van Haven to finish spectacularly. The game then petered out into a mixture of offsides and throw-ins - Extra-time being very much the same.

FC Mersey 2 - 1 FC Cardiff
FC Cardiff gave FC Mersey and early scare as they struck an early goal. FC Mersey however overcame the Welsh side once they settled into the game. Roque was their eventual saviour, but before that came around Cardiff struck with a good tem goal. the ball was moved about the midfiled and then spread back to the centre, before Jefferson was released down the wing and crossed for Henries to head in for a shock 12th minute lead. The lead wasnt as short lived as would have been expected, but it got FC Mersey to liven up and Roque soon flashed a shot from 40-yards out just wide of the post. Merey had to wait until the 28th minute beofre Roque was hauled down by Regis and Roque whipped in curling shot that crept in at O'Donnell's near-post.

The second-half was not as eventful, but still quite a good view for League 1 football as Cardiff showed some skill, but not enough to match Roque. It took some brilliance, however, for Mersey to claim the match for their own in the 80th minute. Roque stpeed over three times and nutmegged Regis and then span 360 degrees beofre smashing the ball home from 30-yards. Roque - deservedly and unsuprisingly - was voted Man-of-the-Match.

Coventry Forest 1 - 3 Leeds Wed
Leeds Wednesday recorded their first win of the season as they stromed past League 1 promotion-chasers Covernty Forest.
the first 20 minutes were slightly stale as neither team seem to wanted to take the initiative. David Hill was the player who added a spark to the game as his through-balls allowed Ricardo to finally find some space and slot the ball under Freeman after 27 minutes. Coventry had no repsonse and Leeds sensed blood and scored again within 3 minutes of the last. El Hadj shot from 40-yards and the ball was tipped over by Freeman. The resulting corner was whipped in by El Hadj and punched out by Freeman only for Hill to hammer it back in from outside of the box for the second on 30'. Just before half-time Leeds sealed the victory as Antonio, Ricardo and El Hadj combined before Antonio played a ball over the top for Castello to volley in.

Coventry knew they were beaten but looked for a consolation goal. Leeds also knew the work was done and needed no more effort and allowed Coventry to attack. It wasnt until the 83rd Minute that Coventry could press enough to create a fuss in the Leeds box. Warren King pressurised Adam Davies from a corner and the defender turnt the ball into his own net for the goal they wanted.

Glasgow cruised to a Scottish Quarter-final as Peterborough again let the lack of a manager affect their play. Glasgow were rampant and could have had more, but they seemed to have one eye on the coming fixture at Stockport. However, the game was exciting as Glasgow exhibited their good play. van de Bruggin set a JFL Cup record as her claimed four goals. The first came as a result of good wing play. Jamie McDougal played a cross-filed ball to Ivan Kappo on the left who dummied past a defender and whipped in a cross that van de Bruggin rose and nodded in with little effort. Surprisingly they failed to add another in the first half, but still showed their class as Sergei thumped the post with a 25-yard drive.

van de Bruggin knew that they should have been more up by hlaf-time and it showed in his play. He played a one-two with Sergie to rack up his second before Peterborough could settle from the kick-off. Sergie was also the contribution for his hat-trick as his 3-yard drive was deflected onto the post and van de Bruggin poached his third on 75'. van de Bruggin wrapped up the JFL Cup record as he was vrought down in the stoppage time and converted the penalty.

FC Reading 1 - 0 London South
FC Reading did not make light work of London like expected, but at least they managed to remain composed enough as London took the game to them. London scared the Readiong crowd as they shaved the post in the 26th minute. Reading did not produce much but were dominating the midfield and hampered any more London efforts.

Come the second-half, London and Reading opened up more and a Rica free-kick hit the post and Jarrell also hit the woodwork with the rebound. Reading saw that as an indication that they needed a goal and went about it as D.C.Thompson crossed and del Rosa nodded in on 83' for the deserved win.

Ah. A great result tonight! I am very pleased with, not only the result but also how well the team, as a whole, performed! I mean, sure, van de Bruggin scored the goals and broke the record for most goals scored in one match in the JFL Cup, which I am also very pleased with but the team also played like a well-oiled machine. The hard work at training has certainly paid off tonight. Now we have the celebrations of this great victory but we also have to turn our attentions towards the big match next week in the league against Stockport.

After the great 4-0 win in the JFL Cup, Jake Johnson caught up with Cap'n Zola for an interview

*Cap'n Zola arrives from a loud changing room - Microphones pick up the sound of cheering and chanting from the players inside and the remaining fans in the stands*

Jake Johnson: "Cap'n Zola, van de Bruggin has kept up his goal-scoring efforts and claimed a JFL Cup record today. How do you rate the teams perfromcae around the striker?"

Cap'n Zola: "He certainly is a magnificent player and a prolific striker; I feel the team's morale is reflected by his performance, the better he plays, the better the team plays. I'm most pleased with how well the midfield can link up with van de Bruggin and his striking partner doesn't lack talent either!"

JJ: "Now that you have gotten past Peterborough and reached the Quarter-finals, you have drawn your Scottish rivals Edingburgh City in the pick of the 3rd Round. How will you prepare for this match and will you take any pride if you win the 'Scrap of Scotland'?"

CZ: "It was a great game against Peterborough and as I had predicted, having no manager certainly did affect their morale. As for the draw with Edinburgh...well, I am disappointed in one sense because I am Scottish and in a mainly English-team-based league, it's great to see the Scottish teams go as far as they can. But I am also pleased as I know the manager of Edinburgh quite well and it will be enjoyable to match mettle on the pitch. We will approach it as if it were any other game and most certainly won't underestimate them in any way. I know how destructive they can be."

JJ: "Stockport lost out on penalties to FC Bristol today, will you expect a backlash from them in your league metting?"

CZ: "I heard about how close their game was tonight but I believe that our team will be boosted so much by the great win tonight that they'll go into the game against Stockport with the mind to win everything. Stockport will have a lot of work and I think the pressure is on them after the loss tonight because they'll be expected to get back on top of winning again."

JJ: "Are you surprised with your progress this season or were you expectant of this sort of form? Do you expect your squad to last near the top all the way to the end?"

CZ: "To be honest, I was taken back a bit by the fantastic start we made as I was expecting that the team wouldn't be able to settle properly until half-way the season but the team have been playing fantastically and constantly aswell. After the start made and with the quality of the squad, I see no possible way that Glasgow United won't win a trophy or at least finish near to the top of the league."

JJ: "Which of the two competitions you are in would you rather win. A Cup final is always good for a squad, but would you sacrifice that for a sniff of a league winners medal?"

CZ: "As you say, cup finals are great to win, not only for the team but for the supporters aswell. I'd like to keep my focus on the league though. The team is concentrating on winning the league and anything else is a great bonus. I am quite confident of the team doing very well this season and I'm sure the supporters are right behind us all the way."

*Interview is interuptted as the players exit noisly and soak manager Cap'n Zola with a large bucket of water. Everybody laughs*

JJ: (Laughing) "Thank you Cap'n Zola"

CZ: (Wet) "Cheers"

Stockport FC Post Match Comments
It's hard to say I'm not disapointed, but the lads put out a good performance, and I am pleased with that. We had a game plan, and they stuck to it. They showed great composure and strength to come back from one-nil down. All credit to FC Bristol. They commanded the match, and they have a talented manager. But I think we can learn from this match and hopefully our future encounters won't be so close! At least we can now concentrate on the league and try to attain the highest position we can. We have a tough match coming next, against some class opposition, again with a talented young manager, but I think we're quite capable of punching our weight in this division. I hope Stockport will become a force to be reckoned with.

News Report
The Player A.Strong has finally cut a deal with Bristol FC's manager AngryNinja. AngryNinja has finally now secured a player who maybe able to sort out the defensive holes that the other clubs have used to their advantages. The past few gamea have seen Bristol FC drop from the top spot to occupy joint first place because of the evident lack of defensive capabilities.

Strong had this to say about the move to Bristol FC:
I am very excited to be moving to a well ran and successful club, I just hope that I can play to my full abilities and help the team back to the top spot. I wish the other teams luck and I hope that I can have a good season.

So with the new player will AngryNinja's team be able to take back the top spot?

Daniel Viez in Mersey bust-up

Argentine Dani Viez is being thrown out of FC Mersey after a huge training ground bust-up involving manager JonnyFFmaster and star striker Roque. Viez has been very disruptional recently as he is has publically stated he is aggitated at being increasingly frozen out of Jonny's plans for his squad. Tempers reached a new high today as in training, Viez vented his frustration by launching into a verbal attack on Roque and then later hacking the player down in a training match. Viez was then restrained by JonnyFFmaster. Viez then pushed away his manager and called him "a fool, who cannot see the wasted talent" and spat in his direction. As soon as the story was relayed to the chairman, Viez had his contract terminated.

Reaction To Viez Incident:
I am saddend and upset by the disrespectfull actions taken by Viez. I can confirm that he will be leaving Mersey through the transfer list, but the club will recieve conpensation based on the fee paid. We are sorry to part with Viez, but his actions are simply unforgivable and have directed bad publicity towards the other team members.

Post Match Comments: I was extreamly pleased with the team yet again. The lightning fast reaction to going a goal down shows the ability and heart of the team as we continue our unbeaten start. The lads are unshadowed by the Viez incident and raring to show their worth against London north in this Sundays Quarter Final clash.

Glasgow United Comments on recent events:
I have just heard of news of the "bust-up" over at FC Mersey and I have to say that I am appaled by the actions of Viez! No player should treat any teamate like that! As for tonight's result against Stockport; well to be honest I'm slightly disappointed. I believed us to be the much better team and we peformed better on the night. It was just a case of us not taking our chances! van de Bruggin hasn't been at full fitness this week but I feel there was a slump in the whole team. I think the mid-week game really drained the team. On the other hand, I am also pleased to come away with such a tough match with a point. Though I just wish we took our chances better.

Well we went into this game ready to win and reclaim the top spot and we have. Though we were playing a team who are situated at the bottom of the league they still slipped past the keeper and score a sneaky goal. portman agin showed what a world class strikers he is, again showing his worth in this game by scoring twice.

The next match against Mersey is going to be one of the hardest games my team is going to face but I just hope we can prevail over them and still be top of the league.

I'm content with the result. In this league you can never argue when you take something from a game, and I'm happy to consolidate our place in the league. The defensive display was very pleasing, having conceded a few in recent games, but all credit to Glasgow, as their defense too, was on top of their game. Admittedly they probably had the better chances, and we didn't create enough, but I'm happy with the point. Unbeaten in four league games is good form, and I hope it may continue.

FC Mersey News
Manager JonnyFFmaster has fallen ill after contracting a virus. The club has confirmed that he is to be hospitalised over the next few weeks, but should return to the helm of the club in the near future. An FC Mersey spokesperson described his condition as 'cautious', hence the reason for a short absence. Until he returns, the clubs assistant manager will take over but JonnyFFmaster has been said to have left stern instructions in squad selection and tactics.

This break comes as Mersey carry an unbeaten record into the Quarter final of the JFL cup, luckily however, this is suspected to be one of the only games he will miss because of the long break leading up to the much anticipated clash with FC Bristol, and the club are hoping for a speedy return.

I'm a little disapointed at the result. I think we deserved a point at least, and to lose like that in the 89th minute is a little disheartening. But that's football - it's a funny old game. Done 5 teamsheets now, just have to do the other 4, then add about 12 teams to the premiership, and edit all the teams.

In case your wandering why, im using a club league and editing them into international teams because CM doesn't let you arrange your own matches during pre-season. Nor does the editor let you alter the national teams without a long process. It's just alot easier.

I dont know yet. I'll discuss it with AP.

Two more teamsheets, then i'll send them out. You will be picking 16 players as well as selecting from some tactical options.

When I do send em and you select everything, don't send them back yet. I'll tell you all when to send em.

jonffm

Ok, everyones teamsheets are done. When you have them, you need to pick a team of 16 players. So thats 4 subs. You will also have some tactical options below your squad, which you need to fill out.

You should get them in the next few mins. If you don't, you haven't sent me your email addy.

Fixtures will be posted later or tommorow.

Mersey and Birmingham agree Viez-Johnson swap deal
FC Mersey and Birmingham South have compleated a swap between Merseys highly rated striker D.Viez and Birminghams cultured winger, A.Johnson. This comes after Viez was placed on the transfer list after internal troubles at Mersey. The transfer went through around 4pm today, and both teams are excited at the prospects of their new signings.

JFL News: Johnson and Viez in Birmingham South/FC Mersey part exchange Update

this news comes after JonnyFFMaster earlier released a press statement on the issue. Shane has now revealed his reasons for the swap, which left him without a left winger: 'i have decided to switch our mentality from defending to atttacking which will hopefully result in higher scoring games and with us coming out on top. we needed a good striker for these tatics and now we have one, even if it means sacrificing a top class winger. from here on in i will be playing a 4-3-3 formation and hopefully Viez can bring in the goals'.

Mersey Press Release

Mersey's new winger, A.Johnson was revealed outside the clubs ground today, and was met with cheers from the excited fans. JonnyFFmaster hailed Johnson as a 'Brilliant winger who will add more depth to the side.'. He also commented on the departure of Viez as 'Unfortunate that we had to part on bad grounds. Hopefully we can put the whole event behind us now and look onwards and upwards.'
Mersey play london North tommorow for a place in the JFL cup Semi-finals, and Johnson is looking like a definate starter, so he has precious little time to mould himself into the teams style of play.

Yeah, 20 players in most squads because theres not enough player sin the JFL league and I didn't want to make up TOO many.

You get 4 subs.

If you send me your team and the other info via PM, If I finish the stats by 9-10pm, I might do a Friendly match between Czech Republic v Sweden to make sure aeverything works fine.

jonffm

4 on the bench. Subs will be used in game depending on fitness/performance of outfield players.

It's actually gone really fast, because all i've done is linked each team to a premiership and first division team. Then linked each player to each teams players. Then edited some stats.

So Sweden is actually Spurs and B.Dolk is Dareen Anderton with altered stats.

Theres no point going through making 32 whole new teams with 20 new players when it can be done this way with the same results as long as I know whos who. (which I do ;) )

Because of that, i've nearly finished. So i'll do a friendly tonight, at 8pm. (24 odd mins)

After the match, i'll post upcoming international fixtures.

EDIT: If the manager is online, then they can make changes in the match themselves, because each game will be done with a vidiprinter (As often as poss)

EDIT II: I have the email addys from: Sheep go moo, Peej, Shane, seaempty and Dingbat. Everyone else, please PM your email addy.

Leeds. But it doesnt matter, it's just a name.

All the stats have been changed to fit the players. Stat-wise, they are slightly better than Sweden, and you actually had alot more chances, but Sweden took more of the chances.

The lads are disappointed at going out of the cup in such a cruel way. We where unlucky not to score from the penalty spot ourselves, but at the end of the day, we didn't take our chances when we where given them. It;s important that we keep our heads high and keep in mind that we're still top of the league, and focus on ending the season that way.

I'm absolutely delighted with the lads - they gave 110% out there, and we fully deserved the win. Credit to Mersey - they played well, and were unlucky to miss a penalty, but Mendoza as always was brilliant, as was Marc. As for the issue of whether or not they were in fact penalties, there was no question - Marc was clean through and he was clattered into, and I think Giovanni did commit a foul as well. Overall, great stuff.

As Peej reminded me I have yet to actually post the results for Week Seven of the JFL. I sent them to some managers via MSN, but for those who dont know...........

FC Bristol 1 – 1 Stockport FC

27’ – FCB 0 – 0 ST: John Portman feeds in Kaprier for a shot, but the Bulgarians shot cannons off of the bar and is cleared.

36’ – FCB 1 – 0 ST: Warner dummies a defender and chips a ball into the box: Portman arrives and hammers in the shot for the lead.

67’ – FCB 1 – 1 ST: van Haven is forced wide by Leosenki but crosses for Anja who muscles infront of Freeman and equalises.

Glasgow United 3 – 1 Wigan City

44’ - GU 2 - 0 WC: van de Bruggin nutmegs one midfielder and rounds another. He lobs the ball towards Sergei who bicycle kicks the ball into the top corner.

78’ – GU 3 – 0 WC: Franco tussles with van de Bruggin as they prepare for a corner. The Brazillian hits van de Bruggin in the face and is sent-off. Van de Bruggin is treated for a bloody nose as Sergei slots the penalty away and wraps up the game.

90’ – GU 3 – 1 WC: Dani gives Wigan a little joy as he smacks a 30-yarder past Portman to ruin the clean sheet, but the game is already over.

FC Mersey 2 – 2 Leeds Wednesday

89’ - FCM 2 – 2 LW: Hill plays a long ball; Castello beats Charles to the header and nods on to Ricardo who is clean through. He sends Estubant the wrong way as he slots in calmly for a deserved point.

What a game that was *wipes sweat from forehead* Whoosh!
I thought we had fantastic play for the most of the game, well after the poor start anyway. Our midfield played phenominal tonight. A fantastic game. As for the result, well I hoped and expected better and am slightly disappointed, first place was ours for the taking, on the other hand, they almost beat us, were it not for the 87th minute equalizer.

All in all, a fantastic, fair game between, in my opinion, the two best teams here. I congradulate JonnyFFmaster, the FC Mersey manager for a superb rally. I shall respect this as a gain, as we now have a 2 point gap compared to what could have been a 5 point gap after tonight.

Great preformance, another hat-trick from Roque and some superb mindfield play. Overall a good match for us and a point from one of the leagues toughest oppositions. Post match comments: A good performance today against a good side, and a big boost for our European chances. I think we are really getting into our stride now, two more goals from Jarrell whos partenership with Del Rosa is proving a dangerous one, and we were unlucky to concede. Me and the lads are pleased with the way we're playing, and especially th fact that we're only 2 points off a European spot, and only 3 off a Champions Cup spot.

Another draw. I think my players are being sabotaged. ¬_¬

Post Match Comments:
Another draw which is a pity. I had high hopes that the players would find some sort of way to push themselves and make the team top of the table. This was not the case however for the defence and strikers seem to working under par as of late, this will be sorted for the next match where we are planning to take back what is rightfully ours.

We arent up to what we were at the beginning of the season, and so i will have to rethink my line-up and see whether i can get the players to work more like a team.

I'm very pleased with this result. The boys done good, and we've kept the pressure on the league leaders. The league is still wide open, and to be in this position, at this point of the season is a fantastic result for a team like Stockport. I'm very impressed with the atmosphere in the camp, and hopefully this team can go on to do great things in the future.

Isn't the Peterborough job vacant?

Well I'm very disappointed with the lads tonight. They could have gone out and won it but they didn't put enough effort in. I'm considering changing our formation as this 442 seems to now have run its course.

How The Table Stands......... Wigan move up a place and shove Birmingham into the 9th place which overlooks relegation.
Glasgow United and FC Bristol close the gap on FC Mersey, but Mersey remain top on goal difference.
London North's late winner helps them keep FC Bristol in their sights (4 point gap) and also move upto 4th on goal difference.
Peterborough remain on the bottom and find themsleves with only one win in half a season.

Post-Match Comments: I'm happy with the result. Reading are a great team and we are happy to come away with a point from this game. We have a couple of games coming up that I think we really need to win, and losing is out of the question because with Glasgow and Bristol so close, we can't afford to slip up. We also have a game with Bristol in the coming weeks, and with all the major games being played in the top half, I think the next four weeks will really seperate the men from the boys.

I'm really proud of my boys, once again. We were playing to win and the sheer determination have shone through tonight. The goal itself tonight was a beauty, though I might've hoped for more goals, it's the result that matters and after seeing the other results; I'm estatic! FC Mersey couldn't take the biscuit tonight and now we really have to capitalize the situation. Most definitely most important - the whole team and myself are really enjoying playing together and the time spent together; it sets a great atmosphere and boosts morale, which is always great.

A disapointing result, but I think it comes down to tiredness. It's been a long season, and I don't think we've got teh depth in squad to cope with the fast pace of this great league. That or the fact that forgot to put a team sheet in.....
Credit to the opposition though, who capitalised on this poor performance. Much like a jackal would prey on a wounded animal. Oooooo evil jackal. Woof woof.
I'll pick the boys up though, and I'm sure we'll be ready for the next match!

Very happy again. I'm glad to see that we're slowly climbing up the league, and we could possibly start to launch a challenge for the top three if we carry on like this. Delighted to see how we're playing at the moment, our form is top and I have no intention of changing unless any problems arise.
