JFL Manager feel free to post you reactions in this thread ;)
Now for people who do not know what the JFL is, they should go here! (http://www.weebls-stuff.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12504) But for those who are lazy can just have a half-arsed explanation. The JFL is an online football/soccer management game. It is played over email and results are placed onto the JFL Official Site (http://www.jfl-uk.tk) and in this very thread.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the first round of JFL games approach (Wednesday) JFL asked for an interview with new FC Mersey boss, JonnyFFmaster. We shall have the interview up here as soon as possible.

The JFL Thread brings you the first interview with a manager. JonnyFFmaster of FC Mersey faced the questioning of AngryPaul:
#1: Jonny, you are the new manager of FC Mersey who are one of 4 teams to have won the JFL Premier Divison before. Do you feel the need to deliever success already?
I believe that throughout the past few seasons the club and its fans have grown to expect high standard of football from the team. With these high standards obviously come the expectations to succeed.
#2: What do you think of the current squad of players you have around you? Any plans for new additions?
I am very pleased with the ability and enthusiasm of the squad. Though I believe that the current squad requires more depth to succeed at high levels, I would be very saddened to see any players leave the Rivers stadium.
#3: Are there any foundations of truth in rumours that Marc van Hooven could be moving to Merseyside in a £10m deal? Would you be interested in signing him?
No. Although I will be looking to bring in a few new faces to the club, Van Hooven does not feature in my future plans for the club and believe that even though he is a great player, his 10 million price tag would not be justified.
#4: Which would you rather settle for this year: a) The JFL Cup or b) 2nd place and qualification for Europe?
From the outset, our primary objective will be European qualification. The JFL cup will be a large part of our season and we will obviously strive to succeed, but I believe that European qualification is more important than silverware.
#5: Who do you see as the biggest challengers for the JFL Title?
I believe that with the standards shown by the clubs in the league, it could be almost anyone. Obviously Leeds Wednesday are our primary challengers, but I could also see such clubs as Peterborough or Bristol doing very well.
Thank you JonnyFFmaster
If any other managers would like to be interviewed please PM me.

It wouldnt really be fair if you could see how much people have bid as the richer teams (if there are any) would always be able to get the players they wanted.

Transfer Update:
Birmingham South manager Shane has gotten right into the spirit of reorganising his team. Bids for Peter Green and El Hadj have been recieved and added to the list of admirers of those players. He will face a battle as Leeds Wednesday have targeted those players, and sent in bids as well. Birmingham have also been linked to Marc van Hooven after FC Mersey amanager JohnnyFFmaster denied any link with the player.

Birmingham South and Leeds Wednesday are tithglty looked ina race to sign duo El Hadj and Peter Green. Both have made bids.
Marc van Hooven is excited at the prospect of joining London North after manager Dingbat placed a bid for the highly-rated striker.
Pedro Medri is unsure where his JFL career will begin. Both FC Mersey and FC Reading have had the Spanish winger on their shopping lists and who rather capture the star, than miss out to the other.
FC Reading are close to signing Argentine deferder Omar. The deal will bring the Right-Back to Fir Park. However, Omar's club are stalling on the agreement over the transfer fee.

Transfer News
Reports sufggest that Leeds Wednesday may be leading the race for the signature of El Hadj. Leeds offered another raised bid yesterday evening for the Moroccan.
Omar could be on his way somewhere other than FC Reading after a bid was rejected. The deal for the Argentine was all hinged on the transfer fee but Omar's club felt the bid was a low valuation of the £4m-rated defender.
Birmingham South look to have turnt their attentions to Sergei Andrei. The highly-rated midfileder is seen as a great prospect for the team after Leeds Wednesday had muscled in on the bidding process for El Hadj.
Team News
Leeds Wednesday will have to do without David Hill running the centre off midfield for thei first two games against FC Reading and FC Bristol after the dynamo sprain his ankle in training. He may be only out for one game, but physio's dont want to take any risks.

I think at the start the teams are relativly equal, and theres not a huge difference between them. I dunno obviously because I havent seen others team-sheets.
Betting might be fun, obviously managers shouldn't be allowed but its still a good idea.

I did think that too. You can't be expected to reserve 90 mins every wednesday. You should get a few people that agree to help you out, and if you cant' or dont want to do the vidi-printer type thing, you can just send the results (with scorers and times) to someone who is willing to help out.

Either way, it doesnt really matter. Results will still be the same. its just the vidi-printer method you have to wait for 90 mins to find them out.

Transfer Update
FC Reading have upped their bid to sign Argentine Omar. Manager dogincognito had a bid deemed 'underrated'. If the bid is accepted the deal is almost certain to go through as the fee was all that stopped the transfer last time.
Marc van Hooven has a new admirer. AngryNinja, new manager of FC Bristol, has entered the frame to challege Dingbat's bid for the talented striker. AngryNinja mentioned: "He's a great player who will hopefully be coming to a team which will suit his style of play"

Transfer Update
Glasgow United look to be making improvement to their squad. Russian midfeilder Rolo Kosevski is thought to be the amin target. However, Glasgow manager Twig, has been linked to striker Marco Voa and ever-popular midfielder El Hadj
Spanish striker Orlando has expressed his interested in clubs FC Mersey and Peterborough Athletic after both were linked to a move for the player. "I have noticed the fact that the press has linked me to these clubs. With their history for great football and title wins, who wouldnt be interested?"
Ive got a question what do you do when the match kick off have you got manager 04 and you simulate each match???

This is such a fantastic idea AP! I think I was one of the first to know about it and can't wait for start now! Though I'm not too sure how well Glasgow United can do this season. Hopefully, if we get our target(s) then our squad will have the quality to win ;)

Obviously it's disapointing to lose the first game of the season, especially being at home. But the lads did well to come back from two goals down. We struggled to keep the boy Roque under control, and he was a different class this evening. We can't let this result get us down, and I'm sure we'll bounced back in the next match.

I am so pleased with the effort the lads put in today. First game, we're definitely not anywhere near full match fitness but still did so well. I was disappointed when the lads threw away their 2 goal lead to allow them back but they listened to my instructions and went at them - full pelt. Very proud! Great win! Still a lot to work on in training with them but I'm very pleased.
And as an afterthought (:D) - I did warn you about van de Bruggin ;)

It was an exciting opening to the JFL season. It ook no less than 6 minutes for the first goal to arrive, and they kept on coming until the very last minute. Glasgow United did well to impress with a powerful 4-2 win over Birmginham South, depsite losing a 2-0 lead ealry in the 2nd half. FC Bristol did well to power past Peterborough at Greenbank Road. However, the plaudits have to go the FC Reading. At eht 65th minute, having had Joel Silver sent-off they were staring at defeat at the hands of Leeds Wednesday. A spirited fightback capped with a 90th minute winner sealed an unlikely victory. Roque outclassed the Stockport defence, but they kept stern and managed to score 2 as well, in spite of his hat-trick.

Well, to get a draw on the first day suggests stability. But I do think that we pretty much threw it away today. We were one up and got too complacent. All credit to Wigan though, they never gave up and they came back to make us look stupid in the end. Still, as I said, a draw is a stable, good enough result. Just unfortunate, is all.[/B]

So the first round of JFL is over. We caught up with triumphant FC Bristol manaher AngryNinja to find his thoughts:
#1: Evening AngryNinja. Tonight your FC Bristol team showed that they can challenge for the top after a fine 3-1 win over Peterborough Athletic. How did you view the result as a whole?
Well the result tonight was a big boost for the team. We needed the win to show the competition that we mean business this season.
#2: From this game, can you indenitfy which areas need improvement? If so where and who do you see as the solution?
From what I saw of the game I think the main problems we have right at this moment are in the defensive area, maybe a transfer may be in order but I will say no more on that subject.
#3: Come game #18 do you think that you will still be pulling in the right results and remain near the top?
By game 18 I hope to be one of the top 3 team's and as tonights game has shown we may have lady luck on our side. Hopefully for a bit while longer *laughs*
#4: Would you rather qualify for Europe via 2nd or 3rd spot, or win the JFL Cup and bring in FC Bristol first piece of silverware under your management?
To be honest I haven't really thought about it. I would love to bring home the JFL cup to Greenbank Road but we may have to set our sights on our goals first, then worry about silverware.
#5: You have been linked with Marc van Hooven, is there any truth that the Dutchmen may be moving to Greenbank Road?
I have no comment on this matter.
#6: Finally, who do you see as your biggest threat to a top 3 finish? Who do you rate to remain at the top come game #18?
The biggest threats in my mind are Glasgow, Mersey and maybe Reading but you can't really tell this early in the season.
Thank you AngryNinja :D

Then in the second half London was still on the attack and then Dani showed everyone what he could really do and he brought us a draw
I am quite happy with the performance of my team, and i think that we could be danger team in the season

I think that the team with such history should'nt be letting in goals after just turning it around. i give credit to FC Reading who put in one of the best attacking come backs when nearrly all faith was gone i still think i should go for a keeper with a better record.

Team News
FC Mersey manager, JonnyFFmaster, has criticised Leeds Wednesday manager Peej for his comments about his own players after their defeat to FC Reading. Peej had criticised his players for conceding goals sinbgling out goalkepper Frank Murray. "I still think I should go for a keeper with a better record." Jonny FFmaster was appalled by the statemnt and replied via the FC Mersey Website (http://www.finalfantasym.com/press.html): "I strongly believe that Leeds are one of the best clubs in the league, however I am shocked at the comments made by manager Peej. I think that he should look at the problems in his tactics and management before he hits out against his players, who have been nothing but loyal towards the club"
Transfer News
Omar is now set to finally complete his move to FC Reading after the clubs agreed on the fee. Omar arrived at Fir Park for a look around his potentially new club. The deal will be finalised at 5pm tonight if there is no more interest from other clubs.
El Hadj is flattered by the interest shown in him by Birmingham South and Leeeds Wednesday. The two clubs have been locked in a tnese bidding war with eachother with the victor being disocvered tonight. "I am very happy that two great clubs would like me to play for them so much. I am just happy to play for any JFL club. Hopefully I will be playing soon."
Pedro Medri is also a wanted-man. FC Mersey and FC Reading are both after him with Wigan City also looking like they are going to enter the frame. oth Mersey and Reading have had raised bids accepted and it will be announced tonight where Medri will be working his magic this season.
Marc van Hooven will finally get his wish to play in the JFL come tru within the next 7 hours. The Dutchman has been linked to numerous JFL clubs and expressed his interest in the league publically. London North made the firsnt move for the striker, but then FC Bristol came in as well. "I am estatic at the prospect of joining a high-profile league and they (London and Bristol
) are high-profile teams to match with quality managers. I cannot wait to start scoring English-league goals."
Glasgow United, being at the top of league after their 4-2 win, are the new club to be linked to players regulalry. Cap'n Zola has been said to "admire" midfielder Rishev Kosevski. The Russian has experienced JFL football before with Coverntry Forest (Now in League One) and was instrumentla in their rise up the table. "Joining Glasgow would be a step in the right direction for both me and the club" said Kosevski .

Today Pedro Medri became FC Merseys first signing of the season. The Spanish midfileder comes to Merseyside as part of a deal that JonnyFFmaster hopes will boost his sides chance of a title win. Medri said of his move: "I am so glad to have joined such a quaility team in a quality league. My aim is to break into the first team and help them achieve beyong expectation."
FC Reading seal £4m Omar
FC Reading today sealed a deal whcih brings in defender Omar. Argentian Omar penned a £4m deal.He can hopefully build on the successful start to Readings season. "I am glad that I finally join a great team with a great manager and record. Hopefully a European place is in our grasp."
El Hadj comes to the JFL in £7m Leeds Wed transfer
Leeds Wednesday won the race for Moroccan El Hadj, beating off Birmingham South and earlier Stockport FC. The midfileder will add depth to a team that are currently near the bottom of the league after a 3-2 loss. "I hope to drag the team from the dissapointing loss, to a top three finish. Hopefully this club will be where it belongs next season: In Europe."
van Hooven breaks transfer record to join London North.
Marc van Hooven finally joined the ranks of the great JFLplayers by signing for Dingbat's London North. They shelled out £11m - a JFL record - for the talented Dutchman. He was linked to several teams before London stepped in with a bid. "I am so glad to finally come to a quality club. I know FC Bristol were after me, but in the end London is my destination. I hope that I can justify my price tag with a great season."
Glasgow United build on success
Glasgow United manager Cap'n Zola added to the bonus of being top of the league by adding talented midfileder Kosevski to his squad in an £10m deal - the 2nd biggest in JFL history. Birmingham spending blocked by JFL
It has been revealed today that the JFL Board has blocked a bid for Stuart Dutton from Birmingham South on the basis that they would not have enough money to complete the transfer. Birmingham are in contention for William Twinning also, and with his rating at £5m, that would take Birmingahms spending withinh £500,000 of their entire transfer spending after already capturing Sergie Andrei earlier this week. A JFL spokesman mentioned: "We encourage managers improving their side with the aquasisiton of new players, but will forbid them to spend more than they have in the bank. Birmingham South will have to decide which player [Twinning or Dutton] they wish to continue pursuing, before moving forward with negotiations."
Transfer News:
Wigan join in spending party with Jean bid
Wigan city have realised the need to link thir defence and attack after their 1-1 draw at London North. Mnagaer sheep go moo has reportedly made a bid for French playmaker Olivier Jean. The £6m-rated midfielder is seen as a great solution for what was obviously lacking last Wednesday.

sorry, bad way of putting it.
if the value on your post is correct then i will bid £5million for Twinning and i won't bid for Dutton
however, if the website has the correct value and your post doesn't, then i won't bid anything for Twinning and i'll bid £4m for Dutton

1 - Ah well. That was mainly directed at Peej, in case you're interested. And wtf are scholarship exams?
2 - Check 'Who's Online' to see if he is - jesus, it's not hard, just go onto main index and look to see if AngryPaul's name's there. Plus his exams may decide his career, which I'm guessing yours don't.
3 - Yes you are. People have a life outside these forums and posts like the above or 'when is the next spin' are simply unwanted.
Do I really have to bring up the 'SpamBusters' PM again?
And Peej? They're not exams. They're pointless. I did them this time last year and they're piss easy. I have my GCSEs and AP has his BSc Honours which are both far more important than your shite. If you want results that badly, don't be so sarcastic:

I'm tremendously pleased with the lads. We battled away, taking an onslaught from Peterborough. We've been working on defence, having conceeded 3 last week, and it seems to pay off. We caught them on the break, and it was a great finish by Gazza. All credit to Peterborugh, I think a draw would have been a fair result looking at the match stats. But to keep a clean sheet under that pressure is fantastic. Long may it continue.

Really well played by both teams but they seemed to have the upperhand in the first half. El hadji has fitten right in but it was a bit off a dissapiontment losing when we played well lets hope for a better season.well done FC Bristol :ultra: and good luck in the rest of your season and if we could bet on theese i would go for you to win it. We really need to improve over the next few weeks. We almost let that match slip away from us. Not a bad result by any means, but not a good enough one. Good to see van Hooven play for the first time though, and I have a feeling that he will be well worth the admittedly high transfer fee.

Peej admits admiration for London Striker
Leeds Wednesday manager Peej has admited his admiration for the recently aquired London North Striker Marc van Hooven. Peej mentioned that the £11million Dutchman "is a great finisher and that is what we need nowadays." He also mentioned the fact that he would snap up a player of van Hoovens quality if he were to ever be offered to him after missing out Marc, despite being linked to him earlier this season.

Club Statement:
London North have no intention of selling our star striker Marc van Hooven at any price. He is not for sale, as he has only played a single game for us and impressed both the staff and the board magnificently. Leeds Wednesday or any other clubs who have any intention of looking into obtaining the player will therefore have any bids made for the player rejected. Thank you for your time.

I'm very pleased with the result - over the moon. The boys played very well, and it's good to get our first home victory. I think the table illustrates what a tough league this is, and how good the competition and quality is.
I don't want to take anything away from the team's victory, but the managerial complications at Peterborough are obviously having an adverse effect on their performances. I hope for their sake, and the league's that they get this resolved as soon as possible.
A good night altogether, and I hope we can grow from these back to back victories, as I believe we can be a powerful force in this league.
