What do people think the chances are of London getting the Olympic Games in 2012?

I would put them just behind or joint with Madrid and then Moscow will probably follow because of the regeneration it offers.

I think they could have picked somewhere better for a UK bid than London anyway there are plenty of places that could do with some attention outside of the capital; and the Commonwealth Games in Manchester proved it was possible to hold a major sporting event away from London.

I wouldn't mind seeing Edinburgh hosting the Olympics- it is after all 'the Athens of the North' :D

If they can improve the transport, maybe add a new line for the Underground to accomodate all the visitors, then I think it could work.

And I could even go along to watch the events!! :D

it's funny how the Gov. can find £2million to host the stars of today but they can't seem to find any money to help the stars of tomorrow develop? to be honest, that money could be better spent
