I have a webcomic and the scanner gods have cursed me with a crappy old helwet pacard black and white scanner. This normally would not be a problem except for the fact that i draw my comics by hand and once they get scanned they look like poo. I am currently using mgi photosuite but its filters to sharpen and clean up the image are sub par leading to the zooming in and taking the little tiny eraser tool and getting rid of every slighty off white pixel. Its a pain in the arse. If you have any ideas or programs i could use to make this easier please tell me!

I just got given one of the best photo editing programs ever.
Totally recommended.
Its called Adobe Photoshop 7.0.
Well worth looking into!!
Apart from that, there are also other programs such as Ulead Express. But its all up to you! Have a look around. ;)

Cleaning scans is a daunting task no matter what program you use. But yes, Adobe Photoshop is by far the best photo/image editing program out there... hands down, no opposition.
Photoshop has many features that will come in handy for cleaning up white scans. Some of these are Selective Color, Magic Wand, and good old Pencil/Eraser.
Photoshop should be easy to use if you're already familiar with other image editing software, but know that there are options and settings lurking in each and every corner and right-click.. so spend a month just exploring and breaking in all the features.
