Hello there. In an effort to get to know you better, I thought it would be a nice idea to state the story or explaination (if any) behind these oh-so interesting screen-names. If it's simply a case of "I think it sounds cool" then that's fair enough.

Feel free to completely disregard this, I just thought it was a nice idea. Here's mine.

Some 3-odd years ago when I was still in Sixth Form, the school Canteen would do these beautiful Bacon Baguettes to which I was rather partial. I would get one every single day for lunch and it was something I would come to gain a reputation for among my friends.

One day, as usual, I bought a Bacon Baguette, and seeing as it was a nice day, I thought I would enjoy it out on the playing fields. I was halfway through my sandwich, when I grew thirsty. I set my lunch down on a serviette for no more than 10 seconds while I took a quick drink, yet when I turned back, to my horror, the Baguette had gone.

Highly confused, and rather panicked by now, I looked up to see a squirrel hurtling across the field with my sandwich in it's mouth. I gave chase, but the snack-thieving rodent scaled a nearby building, escaping onto the roof and out of my life forever. I haven't seen my lunch since *sniff*

Since that day, I have dedicated my life to the eradication of the filthy meal-pilfering rodents, and as god is my witness, One day I WILL catch one, and I'll have it turned into a Davey Crockett-Stylee genuine squirrel-skin hat. Complete with tail coming out of the back and everything, just to warn it's disgusting rodent Brethren not to try anything.

Cos let's face it. Today, we're letting them steal our bacon sandwiches, pretty soon they're gonna be robbing banks, raping our Mums and - God forbid - Walking on the grass. when they've been TOLD NOT TO WALK ON THE GRASS!!! AAAAAAAARGH!!! BASTARDS!!! I JUST WANNA KICK 'EM!!!

Pieman
16-09-2003, 08:10 PM
Well the name Pieman came about one evening around Christmas. We had just finished the last Panto at the theatre and had gone round to one of the crews house to get suitably refreshed. At about 4 in the morning a few of started to head for home, We dropped on guy off who literally took 20 mins to get his key on the door, the other wet himself.

Seeing that it was Christmas time the weather wasn't exactly clement, so 1 friend down and another with frozen pee on his leg we headed for the all night garage. I managed to get to the window and just about managed to slur the words, what have you got in the way of pies and pasties? The sales man burst into laughter for some reason, and I gobbled my way through 4 pies on the way home.

Hence, the Pieman. But I suppose it was cemented when I was at game of rugby, when the chant of who ate all the pie started. I was again suitably refreshed and I stood up with my nickname printed on the back of my shirt, I was met with laughter and more jeers from the people behind. But I suppose you had to be there really.

Smeagle
16-09-2003, 08:24 PM
I'm called Ben, and a couple of times when we went out there was another lad called Ben who came with us. We called him 'fit Ben' most of the time when he wasn't around (it's 'the Poop' now, but that's a different story) but obviously we couldn't call him that to his face, so to save confusion one of us needed a different name.

Earlier, it had been noted that I bear quite a resemblance, in personality, to the skinny little green/grey thing from Lord of the Rings - apparently I'm tricksty and possessive - and this was chosen.

It never really caught on in life, but it's been my internet name ever since!

Incidentally, I know the spelling is wrong, but at the time I wasn't sure how it was spelt so I just had it as 'Smeagle', and by the time I realised it was wrong I'd grown rather attached to it...

Not all Rodents. Domesticated Rodents are fine with me. My friend has Pet Rats and they're rather cute, but anything in the wild, Tree-Dwelling or otherwise, MUST be killed!!!

this situation hurts me. it really does. i wish for a utopia where all rodents and humans can get along.

i'll talk to my collegues at the Rodent HQ and see if i can't track down the squirrel who mugged you, or at least get back the bacon sandwich? and you promise not to make any of my brethren into hats or other accessories.

how's that for a deal?

MeeZ_&_MonK

MeeZ: My in real life name is Thomas Mees and have always been called Meesy/Meezy as a product. I think MeeZ sounds a lot sharper and cooler on the web... and much better in games.

Monk however got his name from monkeys. Altho I *(meez)* find this name rather [glorious], [humorous], and PRETTY [lusty] its his choice... he actually wanted us to call him monkey at school, but we still call him Mawson

:ninja:

okies... real sorry guys. ill try and be a lot more considerate here... ps am i unbaned from #weebl yet :(

But now I'm Loneli. I was tired of the other name because it kept reminding me of him.

Liria
19-09-2003, 02:44 AM
I was a spanish major in college.
I liked the word 'lirio' (which means lily).
I put a feminine ending on it (-a).

Liria.

It's also apparently a proper name in some languages. =)

My other 'Net nick is 'Ixidro', which is the first name of a minor character in Star Wars that I happened to like, and is usually not taken anywhere I go, whereas Liria usually is.

I prefer Liria. And it's fairly close to my real name, so I respond to both when called by them. =)

Well this a "new" which i like For some reason after reading that message i have gained a lot of respect for you. Welcome to the forums. I hate food eaters. There was once this Ibis at southbank, brisbane, Australia. Nasty thing. I went to buy a slurpy for a when i came back ( i was gone for 20 seconds ) a red Ibis has stolen my chips
FFS, why the hell was he red and why did he steal my chips. Now i never have chips and goto buy slurpies at the same time at southbank.

Anyway my name = shpooz. A type of sherbet candy that apparently caused my friend a "back spazm". That is all. ;)
