yes i know it should probably be classified under a more generic title, but i feek that this topic will be a big thread all by itself and i would hate for other reviews to get lost in it.
so i won't bother to double post...
i have had a gmail account for a few days. vampiress@gmail.com is all shiney and new, so u subscribed a few lists to it to get some emails. specifically i now recieve all of my forum alerts from there. i subscribe to just about every thread i reply in to follow it. needless to say, i get tons of emails from ash@weebls_stuff.
allof the emails with the same subject line collapse into a "conversation" so you see the subject line with the number of posts in parenthesis.

then then you click you see the latest email but only snippets. you have to click expand all to see every post, or just show quoted text to see the whole of the top email.

nice thing is if you leave google open , the title bar changes to reflect the number of unread messages. as does the button on the start bar.

all of the links open in a new window without the frame like in hotmail.
you can add labels to emails to make them easily sortable i guess. i haven't really had enough emails to bother with sorting.

i haven't played arouns with stars yet. you can see my few labels. i have yet to find those useful either. i leave some things for others to review.
so far, gmail is a bit wanky because it's a different interface than just your normal email program. it's not hard to navigate, but i'm not totally enjoying it either. seems like lots of clicking to move an email. and yes a few extra to delete.
please do not use this thread to ask for invites. no i don't have any and there is thread for that already
here (http://www.weebls-stuff.com/forums//showthread.php?s=&threadid=16350)
also the
google is creepy (http://gmail-is-too-creepy.com/) naysayer website.
i haven't yet decided how i feel about gmail. it's still new and shiney and i'm playing with it.
/edit not sure how i feel now that yahoo seriously upped the sotrage limit to compete with gmail and hotmail is going to add some more space also. i personally like my hotmail, spam and all. i've had it for about 10 years now, and everyone knows it. i can't just get rid of it, and i do love my eprompter pop mail emial checker(oh that's a different review me thinks later) basically it's a text based email chacking program where you can read and send emails, no chance of virus and no need to read spam. going to be difficult to switch people to gmail. i think for now i'm keeping it at mailing lists and keeping hotmail for personal emails.
