Allrighty.

This is a rather odd thread. Now before I heard the song "Float On" by Modest Mouse, I'd never even heard of this group. I didn't even know they exsisted. And I have never heard anything else by them.

But I am fucking addicted to that song, man. It plays itself over and over and over in my head at all times of the day and steals my gentle slumber from me at night. I can slowly feel my sanity paint peeling off the fence of my mind.

One of my brother's wee friends claims that "Float On" is actually one of the lesser songs by Modest Mouse.

What I am asking is, should I buy this CD? Opinions? Onions?

they're an amazing band, really great

before buying i suggest listening to the album in a shop, or go to an online shop that has the option to listen to musical samples...

I'd suggest listening to a couple of other songs on their album first, just to make sure that you really like them and want their album. I've made the mistake of buying a while CD for one song, and then being utterly disappointed. >_<

However, I somewhat like Modest Mouse. Not my favorites, but I think their music is decent--less crappy than most, to say the least. :)

err.
I would say buy everything they have ever done, right now...
They are one of the greatest bands I have heard for a long time, and they make me get the horn... If that isn't enough, I will dance like a crazy man, just to get you excited...

Yes buy buy!

I love that album, Good news for people who love bad news.

It's not normally the type of music that I listen to, but Modest Mouse is an exception, and it's hard to make it as an exception for me.

Modest Mouse have been around for years, but have never made much of an impact in the UK.

Good News For People Who Love Bad News is stellar and my favourite album of the year so far. I ordered it from Amazon Canada, 'cause it's not out in the UK 'til July 12th, and I'm very pleased that I did.
