Ok, here's the deal:

I've plugged in the old HDD from my late computer into my parents' computer. Most of the programs i had running on that drive are corrupt, and the system won't boot. Yet, luckily I can access some files, when I have it plugged in as a slave.

Now, I've located some old Outlook files, containing a good 90MB of old mail. There's some information in there I really need to access.

My parents currently only have Outlook express. I created a new identity and tried importing the archives, but I can only seem to import from other mail programs.

What should I do now? I did some google searching but found nothing relevant so far? Can I access this with Outlook Express? Or do I need the full Outlook? Are there other programs, other mail-clients, that can access these files?

they are 2 .pst files

this may sound stupid, but have you tried just double-clicking on them? or pehaps right click->open with... and select outlook express? might consider trying that...

and thats about as much as I can offer...

according to google groups, you can't open it without outlook (full version) installed (in which case you could just open it in that...) sorry...

I don't have Outlook handy...

I'll try accessing it with Thunderbird...

all tips still welcome

I've had this exact problem at work for some time now.

Unfortunately, Poofbird, there seems to be no solution apart from using full Outlook. :(

Express just simply will not open PST files from full Outlook.

Or use Thunderbird. Thunderbird so much better.
