as it is the season, i was wondering if any of you ace photographers could take a really good picture of fireworks lighting up the night sky. i tried to take some on 4th July but they didn't come out too well. any tips would also be greatly appreciated :)

I went hunting for fireworks last night. Sadly we wern't close enough, and they just didn't go high enough in the air to get a good photo.

For firework photos : slow shutter speed, tripod, timing. basically.

I hear predictions of great phireworks photos conditions on November 5th. Dunno why.

my friend lives on the top floor of a flat on Kingston hill (for those in london type area) last year you could see a big part of London's fireworks it was amazing. so i might have a go at photgraphy.

I've just had a play. Unfortunately the big show near me started earlier than I had planned so I was in back garden rather than big field, hence the tree :(

I'll sort through the rest later and maybe post a few more.

Ooh whoah Fick. That's gorgeous. I'm not even going to attempt myself, flash being buggered, no tripod and crap camera anyway. Well done!

Right, this is the last one I'm going to post here. The rest are now in the gallery on my webpage (http://www.paulhickford.co.uk).

This one was just a bit of good luck with the timing, got one just at the point of explosion. The only photoshoppery done was to crop down the vast amounts of blackness around it.

We're also allowed real scallies/townies/scrubbers/neds/young ruffians, to throw them around at each other  so don't get too jealous. One went off about a hundred yards away from me a few nights ago, due to one such person.

A rocket missed me by a few feet the other day. And I was at college as well! The same knobhead set one off into the building.
