Gaming Sprays

I was bored, so i made a Brian Blessed spray for Counter-Strike

And it made me wonder if anyone else had made (or indeed seen) interesting/amusing custom 'sprays' (for any game, not just CS).

Maybe not much of a thread, just thought i'd try something different :/

I don't have a .wad - I've done it the old fashioned way! I think it looks better as a greyscale bitmap, plus then you get CS to make it any colour you like :)

For non-coloured sprays you simply use a 64x64 pixel 8 bit greyscale bitmap in inverse colour, so the white bits are displayed and the black bits aren't (like the one above).
This then gets put into your 'logos' directory, and then you choose a colour for it in your CS options (the one in the screenshot is "dark grey") - hey presto, a simple spray.
But it works quite well i think :p

I won't be allowed to post the one that I use on CS, because it's a penis. Done the old fashioned way of course (I don't know how to do the other way). It's rather fun to make your own and see the reactions of people. I also made one that said "I'm gay" and people get pissed because they're all big homophobic wanks.

in steam you put the above pics in the following directory:

%Steam Directory%\SteamApps\%your account%\counter-strike\cstrike\logos\

and then select them from the drop down box in Options in counterstrike
if you're just on pre-steam CS you put them in:

%CS Directory%\cstrike\logos\

as far as i remember, and then select them through player options.

it's not hard...

do a google for a "halflife logo creator", and your 1/2 way there

some of them may ask for a hl.exe... make one from a blank txt file

then just import files, and click auto size

then unclick make for halflife and counterstrike and select export to... and chooses a location

you need to call it tempdecal.wad and drop it in your cstrike root

once you;ve made it, stay away from teh options menu, it'll remove it :(

Yeah, i know there are programs that make them, but i remember there was once a nice tutorial on good old [.tv] in the uk (before Sky took it off air :() on how to make them in photoshop and such.
I've just completely forgotten, it was a couple of years ago...

i don't think you can, not without another app, as you need to package them in a .wad, which is HL's texture pack format

MUG, could you send me your penis spray, I can't be bothered to make one, but I'd like to have it for myself :)

I have never bothered to make a spray for cs, what folder do you have to put them in?
And do you ahve to rename the files?

the cstrike folder if there a .wad... need to be called tempdecal.wad for steam, and somthing else for 1.5
