Anybody here mess with RM2k3? I've got my own lil game goin right now, but i'm nto too far into it...

I try so hard to make something good. Script a day-night thing...make a bank code..think up a great story..then BANG. I stop. Why? Chipsets. It's just too damn hard to find a huge set of chipsets that all look good and fit in together.

The only hope you have in this thing is if you are/know an amazing pixel artist who can make chipsets for you.

Yes, the chipsets are the reason I've quit on a lot of things in RPGM2K3. I can do everything else perfectly, I know most of it like the back of my left hand, but I'm absolutely terrible when it comes to chipsets, and I never find a good pixel artists, so thus, nothing ever gets made. So because of that, I just quit on it. :)

A rather handy program, though. With a good pixel artist, you could create something NICE.

Dudes. Just make/ edit yer own. Not that hard. pick up IDRAW and have a go at it.

I personally edit and make my own sprites so yeah.

And i've my go at some chipsets. Editing already made ones isnt hard, though I'd die if i had to make my own. My edited ones look good though.

It's not hard to edit what you want. Just get something that looks about what you want and edit it. I've even done a lil copy pasting from other chipsets. the result was excellent.


My problem is that I can't code anything in there worth donkey scrotum. I'm learning though!

I've got a great story going here, but my only problem is I need people who can mabye help me out with the coding/custom menus. I've got a composer, so yeah.

If you cant tell, that used to be setzer from ff6. Great game ff6 is. One of the best. better than ff7 methinks.

would a sprite sheet work with it i have a very dodgy idea involving zelda sprites and muntant ninja turtles ssprites i call it legend of zelda and the turtle of major annoyance

EDIT: woah, I just thought of an idea while working on a chipset. I wonder if it would be possible to create a sim city 1 type game with RM2k/3? I might just try that... Would anybody wanna help if I did? Chipsets and ect wouldnt be hard to make.

It helps if you have someone helping you make it, I am sure if you got some friends or people around here together, you could make a great game. Maybe even a weebl RPG. Those images would be reeeealllllyyyy easy to make.

no i really am the sort of person with nothing valuable to do with their time so that game could soon be lauched and it was my idea bastards!!!! i dont care if no-one else plays it cos it would make me laugh oohhh and put sonic the hedgehog in there just to fuck it right up!

Its hard to find it in english (for me it was atleast). Your best bet would be to do a direct connection on AIM with a buddy that has it. My AIM is SandQ3Man if you want to get it from me.

DUDE a weebl and bob game would be sweet. Considering most of the animations are only 3 frames looped over and over ( in game ) i think we could do it. Mabye a game of the pikea episodes? and mabye a throw a prequel into the mix. I dunno. I DO know it'd be pretty simple to do. I could do the graphics, of course. Music would be a problem. In RM2k3, you can import mp3's, so mabye somebody could make some 1337 beats for us. :weebl:

we could have lil minigames in there, such as welding the box shut, or mabye something completely different. Mabye a Metal Gear Solid type minigame where you have to avoid guards to steal some pie... mmmm. pie. :mmmpie:

Just some ideas. Im actually going to start on the graphics of weebl and bob now...

ALSO: The game will need voices, most definately. AND I know there's a way to have flash cutscenes, so mabye we could use actual clips from the 'toon as cutscenes? That'd be swell!
