What do you guys think of the poker on the television-
personally i think its brill-quality entertainment-
it was quite amusing last night with phil laak on the WPT-doing stuff like sit ups in the middle of hands--anyways what do you guys think of it-worthwhile entertainment or cheap trash?

This is strangly entertaining actually ...
I can't watch a full show however, just a few hands

I watch it quite often, especially when there's nothing else on. Where I live (in the US), there's the World Poker Tour on the Travel Channel, Celebrity Poker Showdown on Bravo, and sometimes the World Series of Poker on ESPN2.

Of course the World Series of Poker is quite exciting if you get into it, since it's the biggest poker tournament in the world.

Celebrity Poker Showdown is sort of a crap show, but it's not as intense as the others, which makes it fun to watch sometimes. Plus, occasionally there's a celebrity who actually matters on it (woo Ron Livingston, too bad he lost).

The World Poker Tour is pretty good too, but it would be so much better if Vince Van Patten wasn't one of the commentators. His commentary is so terrible that it cuts the quality of the show practically in half.

What I want to know is why there are so many good poker players with the surname Nguyen.

If there was a poker channel I would subscribe and let my ass weld to the sofa. I've loved it since the first series of Late Night Poker on Channel 4

Late night poker is shit compared to World Poker Tour. World poker tour just owns. I watched it when I had Challenge TV and it was on. Good times

It's the same game with many of the same players just on a smaller scale - How is it any more or any less shit? You are a weird person.

I didn't say that I only watched late night poker, I just said that I watched it there first.

Indeed Late Night Poker owns. Great show, I watch it all the time.
