I currently weigh about 12 stone and ideally I'd like to be at least 10 stone. it's mainly my stomach and bum i need to focus on and I was wondering if anyone knew any effective methods of exercise that can sort those out. are there any aerobic type exercises that I can do in my own home. I play a lot of basketball and I've been using the cross trainer that my Mum owns. i actually eat a fairly healthy diet - i don't eat a lot of crap, and the stuff I do eat is always outweighed by the healthy stuff. anyone got any recommendations for quick and easy exercises to get rid of flab and tone up my stomach and bum?
thank yoooou :)
Easy soulotion:Liposuction.
Medium soloution:Go for a run every day
Hard soloution: Run every day and go to the gym three times a week and drink 5 pints of water a day.(not at same time.)
The best affects will be liposuction but that is just sick and wrong.
The secon is the hard soloution but it works and pretty fun if your athletic.
Medium soloution might drop you to ten after lik 4 months . i hope that helps.

How long would the run be? Go for a run twice, once in the morning, once in the afternoon.

i heard that trampoline (it's true!) is the best form of fitness as it works everypart of the body, all you need now is a trampoline (...unless you have one)
1) Run = 30 minutes
2) Trampoulines are good but very tiring.

lol i never used to like using the trampolines in PE at school - I was a bit scared, and no - I don't own a tramoline. I was doing running with my Mum but then she put her back out and it all just kinda stopped. funnily enough I don't like running either. what about a sport that involves running? that'd be cool...like squash - I used to play tennis when I was little and that got me really fit...
this may be a shock but golf is as you use you arms legs and other parts of your body and if your really bad you have to walk a mile very hole.

start with simple exercises.
even after I kicked anorexia I still feel very insecure if i'm not rake thin.
start with say 5 pushups and 5 situps a night, when you're comfortable move on to 10,15,20 etcboth of these flatten out your stomach and the more you do start to tone muscles.
don't now anything about bum exercises, sorry.

go swimming twice a week
trains all the muscles, makes firmer and burns calories.
just swim at your own pace, to and frow for 45 minutes.
I started swimming because i hate running.
might add magpies excersises to that.
You could try cutting out anything unhealthy that isn't needed. Fast food, soda, etc. Small things add up and make a difference.
The best way to lose weight is with cardio/aerobic exercises. You don't want to lift weights, because then you'll get buff/bigger and you'll beat up little children.
Try jogging, jumping rope, kickboxing, stair climbing, cycling, etc. Such activities are the ones that burn off the pudge. Aerobic exercises dominate adipose tissue.

Well, for weight loss you need to do aerobic sort of exercise, stuff that really gets the blood pumping, like running, or squash.
For toning the stomach, sit ups are a pretty obvious one. Theres a few different kinds you can do (1 - lift your shoulders about 6 inches, till you feel tension start, hold breifly then drop slowly and repeat. 2- bring your elbow across to the opposite knee, do alternate sides. 3 -the crunch - lift both chest and knees together). Do these plus normal ones, start with 5 of each, then work up.
As for rear/thighs, i found a couple recently which seem to work. Hard to describe, so enter the pivot!
1: use a chair, do similar reps to sit ups (more to follow):

Sorry to double post, but...
2: Lie your chest on a bean bag, or a couple of cushions from a couch, and raise the leg (backwards).
With both exercises pause at the top slightly.

its not obsession, its something i enjoy and has great bennefits,
the best favour you can do for yourself while trying to loose weight is not to do anything so stupid as sticking your fingers down your throat

nice pics chimp :) thanks for those! I'll try them - i've been good today - 10 minutes on the cross-trainer, 15 sit-ups, 2 hours of basketball and plus ive been cleaning my room all day which is on the go so it's bound to be exercising - plus the walk to and from the park...not bad ;)

I've lost just over a stone since christmas - eating sensibly and about half hours exercise 4 days a week. Been quite easy, as it turned out.
Word of warning though, if you drink to much beer you'll always have a beergut - life is cruel.

Yoga is pretty good as well. It used to not be recommended to those who were mostly looking to just loose some weight, as it was not considered aerobic. But that opinion has changed recently, and it is now usually acknowledged that you do burn a lot of calories. It also builds muscle, which in the long run is the best way to loose weight, because muscle needs to burn more calories, so the stronger you are the more calories you burn, even when you are just lying asleep. And it also makes you more flexible, so it's sort of the perfect exercise.
I like doing it because one can simply buy a book that teaches you how to do the exercises and do it at home. You don't need a lot of money, you don't need to go some place in particular at a certain time of day, like you do when you go to the gym - you can just do it at home when it's more personally convenient to you and you just need a little bit of room to stretch out. Also you're not required to skip or jump, something I really detest.

If you really want to get in shape then you can't be afraid of getting tired and sore.
For starters run in the morning. I have a convient 3 mile (5 K) path right nere my home and do it every day. That's a good distance for anyone. Start slow, but never trudge. Even if it's slow you should always be running. Don't listen to Peej about getting tired, you should finish sweaty or you're not doing anything.
You should also do an aerobics routine in the afternoon. Doing baseball, track, cross country, and martial arts I have amassed a library of activities, mostly from the 8 years of Kung-Fu.
jumping rope
sprinting in place
lay on the back with your hands under your butt. Put your legs together, make them straight and raise them off the ground about a foot. Hold, then slowly lower. This is great for the abs
push-ups
crunches
put your right leg on a chair. Jerk your left leg up into your chest, bring it down. As soon as the toes touch, jerk it back up. Do this for 30 seconds, then take a break and do the other side.
Used with the above chair. Do the following sequence fast- Bring your right leg onto the chair. Straighten it and bring up the left. Once you are standing on the chair let the right and then the left jump off. As soon as the left foot hits the ground, repeat
bicycles- get into crunch position with your hands in fists. Raise both feet off the ground. Pull the left knee into your chest and straighten your right. Lift your body as if doing a crunch, but shift it towards the bent knee (left). Begin to move your legs in and out as if on a bike and shift your torso back and forth without letting it touch the ground (This one is a bitch for more than 30 seconds).
The best ab exercise- pushdowns. You need a partner. They stand legs slightly more than shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent. Lay down on your back with your hands around their ankles. Straighten and put your legs together and point your toes. Lift your legs in this position but straight up. Your partner pushes them down as hard as they can. You let your legs fall until they are just above the ground, then pull them back up. As they get straight up your partner pushes again. Do in total 20. Have your partner go, then do a second set. If you did it right your abs should hurt, but it is a miraculous exercise.
Don't do all of these on one day. Try them all to see what you can do as of now and what your reps should be. Anything put is what I do, and I've been doing these for a while.
Good luck.

Ive lost about 25 lbs in the past 2 months or so. I am 15, so the metabolism is better, but what I did was eat very little desert like things, run 3 miles 4 days a week or so, and, this may seem obvious, but stop eating when your full.

i strongly recommend trying out a martial art. i am now a green belt in taekwondo, a form of karate. it not only tones and firms your muscles, it gets rid of flab and people start to insult you less :p
karate is a good martial art for beginners, it doesnt have too much discipline and only a small amount of skill is required to start learning. if you are quite strong, i would recommend judo, if you are flexible kickboxing is a good idea and if you want a heapload of discipline and knives thrown at you, then i guess ninjitsu or kung fu would be your thing.
