The few football fans in these forums know the college football season for 2004 is about to begin. This year seems to be another exciting year, and with the BCS revamped (less of a computer input) maybe people will pay more attention to the football and not moan about the rankings. there will be more to talk about as the season progresses, but I made this so people could talk about events in the game, and make predictions
I don't think USC is all that great of a team, but I think the Pac-10 is a weak conference, so they could get to the orange bowl this year.
As an :notworthy OU :notworthy fan I think OU is perfect.
Actually I think they are an excellent team, and I hope they will make it to the orange bowl. They have 17 starters returning this year (10 offense, 7 defense) and have the threat of a running game with top college pick Adrian Peterson of Palestine, Tx in the backfield. They have a major hurdle though in the season with Kansas State at Manhattan, the OU/Nebraska game (norman luckily), and finally the Red River shootout. After lastyear's blowout of Texas, the longhorns will probably try to seek revenge (also for four years down the drain for them). but Bob Stoops seems to always rally his troups for this game, and I think OU will almost always beat Texas with Stoops at the reigns of the Sooners and Mac Brown as the leader of the Longhorns.

I have to go with miami. They have a good team every year it was just unfortunate that the lost to virginia tech last year.
I like Virginia Tech.

Miami and Virginia Tech are in harder conferences this year, so it will be interesting to see. They both tend to field excellent teams, but can't handle West Virginia too well.(though I haven't checked to see if they play them this year).

It's great...to be...a Florida Gator!!
I think 2004 is gonna be a great year for the University of Florida no matter how they do. If we do really well, then we do really well. If we don't do well (as in another appearance in the Outback Bowl), I believe that Ron Zook is gonna get fired, and we'll get Steve Spurrier back as head coach.

hopefully the gators can do better than last year. Ron Zook is a horrible coach for them.

Maybe I was wrong. With that win maybe they will win the Outback Bowl.

I was wrong again. They have now fired Ron Zook after 3 losses in a row.
Sorry for double posting.

It wasn't three in a row. We won the two games after the Tennessee loss, and we won again after the LSU loss. Then we lost against Mississippi State.
I just hope that Foley (our AD) goes after Spurrier.

Sorry, they lost so many games so fast it seemed like three in a row.
Now they lost again against Georgia. It sucks.

This sucks. Spurrier withdrew his name from the head coaching candidate list.

With a win Saturday Maybe they can move up into the top 25 again.

I hope so, but South Carolina is not a very notable opponent. It might take a win against them, and a win against Florida State (in Tallahasse, no less) to be back in the rankings.
Now since Spurrier's out of the question, next candidate for UF should be Urban Meyer from Utah.

I'm not sure but I don't think Florida moved back up.

Me neither, but that's not my concern now. Right now I'm just mad at Spurrier. Not only did he accept a job at a school other than UF, but it's one of our rival schools.
