What's, in your opinion, the most boring sport ever?

Mine's golf.

Cricket maybe but yes golf is indeed boring. And then there's horse racing.

This'll probably get me a million minuses (even though you aren't supposed to minus people because of their opinions) but I'm gonna say:
Football

it's so shit...

Extreme ironing. Yes, it's a sport and yes, it's really boring.

Besides that I'd say golf, yeah (except for mini-golf, that's major fun). Old white dudes hitting little balls, I don't get it. I'm too active for that stuff.

mittnes I don't like you- I'm not gonna minus you or anything (that would be stupid) but you're in that large uneducated group that gives baseball a bad name. You've probably only seen baseball on T.V. which even bores the hell out of me. All T.V. baseball announcers should die. I don't care that The Royals's utility infielder is hitting 18 points higher when he wears boxers than when he wears briefs. Real baseball, on the other hand is exhilirating. I mean playing. It's immense fun, and the innings fly by. Or even seeing a game in person. It's much better.

ARR! It be CURLING. Have you ever watched that? Its very boring. But it must excting in person.

I would have to say rowing.

Play by Play of a rowing event:
Announcer 1:"And look at team A stroke. Wait here they go again, and yes they have re-dipped their oars into the water at the same time, a totally unexpected move."
Announcer 2:"I for one expected them to re-dip their oars. Their coach is even sending them verbal reminders through a megaphone place a 1/2 meter from their faces"

Rivoting.

Otherwise I hate watching bowling. it always seems to be on tv late, so i watch it.

Mens Tennis.

A little ball being hit from one side of the court to the other. pah.

Bloopo
16-08-2004, 09:04 AM
All forms of tennis (normal, table, hand, etc.) most boring ever, just a few blokes hitting the ball to each other, seeing who will miss it first, and the worst thing is, it goes on for absolutely bloody ages! I remember when Spooks was replaced my tennis one night.....never again.....

EDIT: Playing cricket ROCKS...especially when the ball knocks someone out...you get to let all your agression out on a little red, leather ball!

Curling sucks
Football sucks
Golf sucks
Cricket sucks
Tennis sucks

the point is that most sports suck...

tennis is good when you watch people who are good at the sport just mucking around :)

Cricket is fun. Just aslong as you wear a hector protector, its very usefull when you play teams wicket keeper. But i think the most booooring sport is probably... golf i think. And my favourite is midget pro restling

SYCRONISED SWIMMING

How is it even considered a sport?!?!

Bloopo
16-08-2004, 10:02 AM
Same goes for syncronised diving...and ping pong....

Sk£tch
16-08-2004, 10:02 AM
I gotta go with baseball, watched it on channel five and my god, it's mind numbingly boring... No-one ever scores! On the rare occasions when they hit the ball it just gets caught...

Flamable Brick
16-08-2004, 10:17 AM
Would Horse shoe throwing be considered as a sport. Then that would HAVE to be the worst no questions asked

Wahoo
16-08-2004, 12:43 PM
syncronised diving looks good, and we should like it cause it got team gb a silver :)

Zin
16-08-2004, 06:21 PM
Horse racing, golf, gymnastics, football (to some extent) and synconised swimming bore me a lot.

The worst one is gymnastics. It looks the same some of the time. There are times when someone does show some individual talent or when I go "Wow! That must've taken some doing." But it just doesn't interest me

Sugar Ray

Darts. In fact how it can be called a sport amazes me. It's a bloody pub game!

I like american football, it's fast paced, and ping-pong is good if you can actually enjoy it, but bowling... ugh.

RussianAlien
16-08-2004, 08:26 PM
Probably Horse Racing. I just don't see the appeal unless you have a bet on it (but that's like most sports, more fun with bets)...

renatzu
16-08-2004, 08:46 PM
Most of the time when someone says they don't like a sport it's because they are too lazy to get off their ass and play it. Everything's more fun to do than watch.

El Pinguino
18-08-2004, 01:59 AM
when the general mass says football, is it regular football (soccer) or American football?

lellykelly
18-08-2004, 02:12 AM
I dont like ping pong much. If i had to play that i would get frustrated because i wouldnt be able to hit the damn thing, and its just over and over again.

Lewiji
24-08-2004, 05:16 PM
National Ice Carving. Yes, it's counted as a sport and is on TV occaisonally. Basically it's about 10 old blokes carving ice blocks into shapes like animals. Impressive by the end but not fun watching them carve for 5 hours live.

Explosivo
24-08-2004, 06:52 PM
the most boring sport has to be Formula 1 (cept when theres no crashes) just watching a car go round the same track 50 times, i might as well pay a bloke to speed round the block a few times, just as good.

Golf can be good to watch, but its much better to play

Handwashed Pug
24-08-2004, 07:20 PM
I can't stand Equastrian events, way too slow and just generally boring
Golf is also worth a mention but its actually a good game to play, its just not a very watchable sport ( in my eyes )

Boring Sports:
Tennis
Baseball
American "Football"
Football

Non-Boring:
Badminton
Basketball
Hockey

Althogh this is my opinion.

Decidedly fishy

I agree with you with horse racing as a boring sport, I fall asleep to it all the time.

Ohhhhhh i disagree, to watch it on telly is a bit pffffft, but when you're actually there, it's a really good atmosphere and a pretty good day out ....

I hate baseball, basketball, american football, curling (the point is?), ohh and hurling cos people get bashed up bad :( ....

26-08-2004, 05:18 PM
That is the sole reason i LIKE hurling

28-08-2004, 09:41 AM
yeah, soccer doesn't enthuse me that much...if its a good game I like it, but sometimes it just gets very very boring...like any sport I suppose, but it seems more pronounced to me with soccer/football

American Football. For one thing, it is wrong to even call it football. It is rugby with safety gear and play that stops every five seconds.

Dressage. wtf?? How is this a sport??? HOW?????

Oh, and by the way, table tennis rules. Just because you suck at it and have never watched actual GOOD people play it (which is extremely impressive and exciting), it doesn't mean it's boring (and playing it is even better).

qbkidd
30-08-2004, 03:38 PM

chicken_pie
22-10-2004, 12:23 PM
Bike racing is awesome; grand prixs, motor X, all of it, all good to watch
Cricket is ace i can watch and ply it for hours on end
Football is brilliant to watch, there is a lot of skill involved, not just diving and play acting (except for mr christiano ronaldo, but then again i hate manchester united and alex ferguson)

Baseball, golf, tennis, most althletics, horse racing, all rubbish and boring, and always on terrestrial TV, thank god for sky

Rugby - Argh!
what is it you don't like about rugby?
I find soccer boring because most of the players aren't invloved enough. Also, the people who play it quite often aren't especially goot athletes and look tired at the end of 90 minutes jogging around and running every now and then. Lazy buggers.

Thomp
28-10-2004, 03:41 PM
Some footballers are lazy and overpaid, but some are very talented. Hand that to them at least

Jasmine
18-11-2004, 03:28 AM
I think golf is boring, but then I never took the time to figure out the point. Do you really try to hit the ball a couple thousand feet into a little hole?

Actually, before I got the concept of any sports I found them ALL boring.

Basketball bores me to death.

astral
24-11-2004, 01:46 PM
I'm a huge F1 fan, but it pains me to say that it can sometimes be very boring. It's only because Schumacher keeps winning and the TV cameras focus on him, though - there's some great racing further down the pack, and the broadcasters miss it.

I find it hard to watch coverage of long-distances running, like the Marathon. It's too drawn-out to make for exciting viewing until the last mile or so.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for as entertainment.

*edit* oops, sorry for the six-day bump, didn't notice how old the thread was!
