As I write this, Scotland are losing 3-0, at Hampden, to Hungary. And you know what? I don't really care. I lost any and all interest in the Scottish National Team after the 98 world cup. And by the looks of the crowd at the game tonight, I'm part of the majority. Now I know you get the tartan army idiots that believe you have to follow Scotland wherever and whenever, and that we can still all be happy and cheery despite losing all the time. Well I think that attitude is disgusting. Yes we are a small country, but so is Holland. So is Switzerland, and so is Ireland. Christ, even the Welsh are better than us! We are never going to progress as long as we put up with this gallant losers tag.
Now ok, this is a bit of a rant, but I know there are quite a few Scots on this forum, and so would be interested to hear their views. And any English fans that want to laugh away, feel free. Even I'm laughing at just how poor we are.

Before i begin i'd just like to point out that i'm from Northern Ireland, and my optimism is in no way biased.

I'm not so sure Scotland are as poor as you seem to think. i think Berti Vogts is trying to build a team for the future, with many young players. i think very few players in the squad for tonight's match had more than 20 caps. this is a transitional period for scotland, and when they come through it, they will once again look a very good side.

James Mc Fadden has a very bright future, and will be a great player for scotland as he has already shown on more than one occasion. Darren Fletcher is also looking good, and Kenny Miller has decent potential. Marshall would seem to be a very good young keeper. he finished last season on a high for Celtic, and for the sake of the Scotish national team and Celtic, lets hope his good form continues.
