First off, I would like to state that I have been watching the simpsons since i was 12. I am 20 now. Right around senior year of highschool however, i stopped watching them because I found that the newer scripts where no where near as funny as the older ones (in my opinion).

The last episode i watched featured an insect called a "scream-a-pillar" which was endangered and homer couldnt kill it. IT was a dumb plot as far as i was concerned. That was when i was 18. I have not seen a new episode of the simpsons since bc i got disapointed with their quality.

I love old skool simpsons. I cannot comment on simpsons episodes that are being put out currently bc i have no seen them.

Does anyone else feel as though the simpsons quality dropped off a few years ago? I think they hired new writers or something.

that is exactly it...they arent realistic at all anymore. The earlier ones were easier to relate to...and were still goofy and werid. They just got too darn weird.

a few of the new ones are good..... but many are a bit too random.

I think they are all REALLY funny!!

I dont really like the old ones tho, where the actual cartoon looks poor, with old voices and stuff.

Yeah, Seraph!
Back when Homer pronounced his "R" and "s" sounds a bit too clearly!

And they all had huge buck teeth, and sometimes you couldnt tell what they were saying to to bad sound recording!

I prefer the randomness of the new ones even though they are less realistic. I actually haven't laughed as hard at anything except for that classic line in a relitively recent (2 years ago) simpsons, when Otto sees Marge lifting his bus up
'Oh man, what am I smoking, oh yeah, pot'

They're running out of ideas now, I say they should axe the show. I like watching the Simpsons, but recent episodes have been sh!t. :)

i prefer the new ones more than the old ones btw, cause homer is much more insane in the new ones, and more comical.

the first ones were terrible, the sound recording was poor, the animation was poor, and the storylines were OK. i also don't like the old ones because the colours are messed up, in the house and stuff, and smithers is a strange shade of bogey green....

But on the other hand i don't like the new ones because the storylines are lacking.

another thing is the damn BBC, ive seen most of the middle ones five times or so

The new ones are much better because we see a lot more of the smaller comical characters so their one of lines are funnier.

My brother just bought the season 2 dvd set. There were a few episodes which I hadn't seen and they were funny as hell... I don't live in the US so I wouldn't know what the really really new ones are like (do they still make 'em?), but I've seen a few 'new' ones a while ago. They're weren't bad, but they were no match for the old ones...

I think we all agree on the better quality of the old ones now..could you maybe make a poll?

i like the new ones better because the old cartoons were kinda faded. The new one where homer was the grim repear was very good+funnny.

seamless animation alone does not a good show make
