Simple question, influenced by a debate I heard listening to talkSport radio the other day. Who would you rather see have success. Which team do you feel more of an affinity for, and would sacrifice success with one for the other. Of course in a perfect world we would have both, but this isn't a perfect world.

So, would you rather have success (league, Europe) with your club, at the expense of your national teams success, or would you rather your national team (England, Scotland (sic!)) won the world cup, and your team remained a middle to bottom team for ever?

Well, I'd rather see Scotland have success - but I know that won't ever happen. So I shall wish success upon Rangers.

I have to confess though to being rather more passionate about Scotland than I am about Rangers, primarily due to the constant joking that I put up with about them.

So in short, I don't know :p

Now this is a really hard question, but I suppose I would go for England having success...

Of course, we have one of the best teams anyway, so no worries :weebl:

Country!

Chelsea and Celtic have already won their respective leagues and whatever additional trophies this season so I'd like to see Scotland get something for a change :p

Personally, I would Rather have club sucess, and as a united support I've had plenty! :p But i still want more. I'm not sure if thats just because I'm me or because I'm a United supporter, but club success is very important for me.

On the other sort of Club v Country row, I honestly do believe the player's first loyalty should be to his club. It is after all the club who pays his wages. If the player gets injured on international duty, its the club who has to suffer the most, and still pay wages for the injured player.

anyway [/rant] I'm sure you all needed to know how i feel about that...

I'd rather Spurs get success, because England don't deserve theirs. They somehow manage to play crap and win at the same time...

As much as I hate to be unloyal to my club, I'd much rather see England winning than the Albion.
I suppose its because I've witnessed Brighton promoted three times now, yet I've never seen England win any major trophy in my lifetime (apart from that stupid Le Tournoi thingy)

And it also just feels different when England win, y'know, it feels as though the whole nations happy, and not just a select few.

in a players perspective, you want the biggest and the best

so, if i were wayne rooney, i would pick england over man u, and euro over league

but if i were el hadji diouf, i would pick bolton over senegal, and league over euro (because bolton will never make euro :P)

But I want a fan's point of view. Do you feel stronger for your club or your country? Where would your loyalties lie if you had to choose?

I would choose success with Spurs over success with England. It's hard to get escited about a team full of posers, some of which you dislike completely, and the manager!!!! I just don't feel part of "England" whereas you are able to feel part of your club. I feel.

I definitely feel stronger for my club. A lot. Probably 'cause seeing them week in week out you form more of an attachment than watching England on the TV

So I shall wish success upon Rangers.

That's a lot of wishing, and I'd say they had as much chance as Scotland :p hehe

I would go for club everytime. I would rather see Liverpool win the league (again) or have success in Europe (again). Everytime I watch England I fear for the fitness of our players. If Gerrard got injured it would hit us badly. So if it was down to England winning the World Cup or Liverpool going back to their glory days. Liverpool wins easily.

C'mon you redmen!
