Clan Server-Important notice!

Payment for the server is due by the 8th (wednesday I think)

It's £20UK and that's a 20 quid I can't pay due to uncountable amounts of debtage (phone bills and other stuff)

I can put a fiver towards it.

Now the point of the thread:

We haven't used the server much. A few tests, maybe a couple of 2v2 games, but quite simply, it was more active when we just found a random pub and played there.
Not that that can't change-with a bit more organization and activity.

But is it worth 20 quid? I certainly can't pay the lot every month like I have this, and require contributions.

I've added a poll.

If the outcome is keep it, I'll need either someone to pay or people to donate to contact@xebsoftware.com. Anything spare will be sent back.

i prefered teh pubs anyway, i don't like small gmes, too much relies on your own personal performance

To be honest with you I agree-although it was nice knowing we had our own server to practice on, it was good on pubs when we had say 3 people since random people joined, and this I suppose is more authentic anyway.
The only advantage of having a server was being able to put our own maps on really...But then again you can't choose maps in league matches (as far as I know) so...Yeah.

the other advantage is DISCO MODE! w00t!

Neh i like 2 on 2 or 1 on 1 games... it's easier cause you aren't threathened by 3 people at a time. And it is easier to mess with their mind.

you have 2 diff maps in league matches, one chosen by your team, the other chosen by the opposing team ( i think ).

Unfortunately I don't have any way of contributing, seeing as my dad doesn't have a papal account and i don't know his debit card number.

why not make a server if you have a spare pc hanging around

you have 2 diff maps in league matches, one chosen by your team, the other chosen by the opposing team ( i think ).
In a league match the map is chosen by the team that offers up the challenge. Usually the terms of the match (amount of rounds etc) are agreed upon by both clans.

Once I go to uni, if others are willing to contribute I should be able to pay for some of the server. Saying that, I don't feel that the server is a necessity.

I would be able to contribute, but whenever I am able to go on, it seems that no-one else is able. Like, Lewiji40k said, if we could organise a bit more, then the server would be worth 20 quid.

Like there's a thread that says there should be a practise session this evening, but we didn't specify a time, so no-ones on there atm (plus my brothers playing on the other pc at the mo, and this one can't run cs, so i can't play either atm).

I can contribute. I might even pay the whole thing if no-one else can/will.

But I want admin rights on the server in return. ;) And the password removed. The reason for that is that the place is always empty, if no-one from here is going to play then we might as well make it public.

It's because without a password there's gonna be a lot more usage and therefore a lot more bandwidth.

And because they want to rip us off :p

Playbus, if you want to take over as the manager (IE access to the 34sp control panel) then PM me and I'll change the password (since I use it everywhere :p)
You can then change the account to your name and email etc. Basically, every month 34sp will email you 14 days before the expiry, and you can settle the payment any time using debit/credit card or cheque/postal order.

If you set up a paypal account I'll happily contribute when I can :)

Well I'm spending pretty much all my free time learning how to map for CS at the moment, so I don't want to pay for a server I'm not going to use yet.

So, I'll hold off until I've made a few decent maps (could take some time) and then I'll get my own server to run them, as well as all the usual maps.

When I get my server I'll pay for it to be public too. It's just a bad time right now, as I'd not use it.
