Ok peeps.

I'm confident enough to release my Marmite/Jam/Weebl related Counterstrike map to the masses as beta.

It's not finished.

But it's pretty much finished.

I'm at a point where I don't really know what to do anymore. But I know I have to do something.

I am saturated, one might say.

I need feedback.

And that's where you come in. :)

There are 3 files inside the ZIP. The WAD file must be placed in your cstrike directory. The other two files must be placed in the cstrike/maps directory.

I also have some screenshots prepared, and although they do show off most (but not all) of the map from at least one angle, I have deliberatly left the bits I feel are the best/funniest out of them. You're going to have to play it to see them! Muhahaha.

There is now a public server which is running the map! I don't know how long the clan who owns it will keep it up, but it's there now. I was just there.

NB you'll still need to download the map from me because the server won't give you a WAD file that you need.

I played with Playbus for a while :D

It's a very good map, I like all the dark spots and the big "no mans land" area (the bomb site) has nice cover etc. Hopefully more people will join the server :D

I had a quick spin around with playbus earlier. There are some very nice touches, that catch out the innocent nub, aka me...

pretty nice... although i don't like the dead end with teh window... imo you should be able to keep moving without doubling back

The window is breakable, it just takes a lot of damage. It's just there to slow the T's down as that route is short.

A grenade shatters the window instantly but usually bounces back at you, so watch out :D

weaken the windows.
fix the water at bombsite cause it makes a strange noise then you die (need to not make you die like that. and just die)
fix the hole at the top of the two ladders because i tried and couldnt get through it.

nice lookin map though :)
seems a bit sparse

The bit at the top of that ladder in the narrow bit is a bit tricky but it isn't too hard to get through. You have to crouch-jump out of it. I will make it easier though.

The map will be getting an update in the next few days, thanks everyone for your suggestions.

i dont have CS on my laptop, and my PC is borked, i guess this means i gotta get a new CD to play your map :p

i've just remembered why i gave up worldcraft/hammer editor... unrealED is about a million times better :(

in unrealED you carve from a solid world, where as in hammer you have an ampty world that you have to put walls etc in... it's alot more work, and harder to get decent reults

yo, started work on a level today.. to get my leet map0ring skillz back

it's only small, a fy_ kinda thing

got all the geometory done, just stuff to litter teh halls, texturing and lighting to do

(screens when it's closer to being done)

bloody brilliant map.
maybe someone should do some forumite/weebl skins/meshes to go with it.
and if you are really good (And have a ton of spare time.) maybe there could be weapon mods like marmite pots or pie cannons.
and maybe make the jams breakable if possible.
