Oi whats up with my steam?

afternoon alls.
I appear to be having a problem with steam being a piece of shit...
When I try to filter the servers, so I can get europe based ones for counterstrike, it keeps giving me an error message, which reads "Could not contact Master Game Server to retrieve Server list"
If I try messing with the filters (ie removing them entirely) I only seem to get Counterstrike: Source servers. Which is odd. I know that there are still counter strike servers, as I can see them in my favourites and in the history. However, this is pissing me off. What can i do to sort it out?

Have you tried quiting Steam and starting it up again? Maybe it needs to be updated...

I have the (sort of) same problem except i see tfc and not counter-strike source, you should try using all seeing eye to search for servers for now, i find that it locates servers quicker and has a better favourite system.
