the NME are full of shit. they always have been, and they always will be. the main aim of that rag is to glorify and worship "in" bands, and swipe a good hefty kick at artists past their prime. it's pure evil. they are a load of hypocrites and... errr... they suck mouldy ass, man.
that said i haven't seen this 'revamp' so i really have nothing relevent to contribute. Why am i posting? i have no idea.

I only ever buy the NME once in a blue moon. They've always had a reputation for being up their own and every new bands arses. Can't imagine them to change the content now with this revamp.
Bunch of arse!

I used to buy the NME every week. For years. Untill the backbiting and bitchiness (ok, so anything nasty said about the Stereophonics makes me smile in general) got too much to bear spending upwards of £1.20 a week for. Now I get it if I need to go on a journey or there's something free with it (alas, no beer yet).
Now I read BANG magazine. It's worse. And sooo much better at the same time. Wayne Coyne answers people's letters. Get it.

I beg to differ.
It's smaller!
There's more pages!
They've written more!
There's an interview with Mr Iron Maiden.
Oh, and what do you think of these recent reviews:
Wheatus : 0\10 "Horrific"
Limp Bizkit (results may vary): 4\10
Strokes: 9\10 (of course)

Yeah, NME is a bunch of Wank really. It's good that its weekly, because you can keep up with the gigs more easily, but the articles and general integrity are poo. There are worse magazines (cough - kerrap) but NME is right down there. My favourites a Q or Mojo if I can't find Q.

I don't think NME is good.

buy BANG (it's only rock and roll) magazine!
You won't regret it, best music mag to have come out in years.
(and no, I'm not getting paid to say that, but I bloody well should be)

I read NME at college because they get it in weekly. The other week i read the review of the new linkin park single "numb". I haven't laughed at a review that hard in ages. Talking about how if they were a 15 year old they'd sdave up their pocket money, fly to LA and cut linkin park in the neck til their tongues were ribbons on their chests. It;'s what everyone wants to do. And they keep telling me how crap limp bizkit are, which is reassuring because i've been saying that for years. "limp? my digestive just fell into my tea!"
i've bought NME a coupla times, not fussed with it really.
i find Kerrang better value for money, gettit mainly for the reviews of any live shows i've been to, and the album reviews.

I got the first issue of BANG (it was only a quid) and it's really good. I haven't bought any others for some reason, though. I spend about 20 minutes reading each one in WHSmith every week or so (only if there ain't any copies of EDGE left).
NME's better than Kerrang, definatly. But the main thing is:
If you like metal and worship Fred Durst, then Kerrang's for you.
If you're a garage\punk\extremo\etc rock fan, then the NME's your best bet.
Oh, and I had a letter printed in the NME, too. If you have the issue with How The Darkness Took The World On (blue cover with Justin on), check for Perks in the back page. I'm mouthing off about thier chart show.
Oh, yeah, another thing: which is better; Kerrang TV or MTV2? MTV2 kicks arse because it has Jackass on tap, plays more than 20 different songs, has a lot of Nirvana, The Smiths, and White Stripes, and it's got 120 Minutes on in the mornings. Oh, and before Gonzo it tells you your nutsack may be at risk. Genius.

Funnily enough, along with BANG, EDGE is the only other magazine I ever buy these days. When I was at Uni, I'd be buying like 15 a month. Madness...
