I think alcohol has historically prevented alot of people from going completely mad when their life suddenly takes a turn for the worst. As long as you do not abuse it and become totally addicted (alcoholic etc) I think it is a blessing rather than a curse. It is nice to be able to get all scriffy just from drinking a glass of something.

Alcohol definitely has hurt alot of people. But in my opinion it has also helped alot of ppl to cope thru something upsetting or painful.

Of course, alcohol can also be used just to plain old have fun. Just bc some ppl abuse it does not mean it is completely bad

You have a point.

Personally though, I prefer to abuse it.

so does this mean u think its bad? I drink about 4 beers on a typical week. and i have a couple shots of whiskey on a typical week. On an atypical week i drink alot more. I never get drunk (partly bc i have a high tolerance for alcohol..even if i drink alot of stuff at once .) but i do get buzzed a bit on occasion.

getting drunk is not always as fun as being buzzed. moderation is best.

Argh...

Today, just after my English course (which ended at about 18:00) i went with one of my friends from the course for a random beer (actually three random beers) All would be well if I didn't foget one basic thing - tommorow at school I'm having a German test (prapositionen), and I generally strongly suck at German. But nooo... instead of learning hard I had to go and have a drink with my bud, and now not only I can barely stay awake, but also I can't concentrate myself on studying (and I'm reading some stupid orange forums, wasting precious time).

Damn you beers for making me this way!

Alcohol is alright occasionally. I have a tendency to put on weight if I drink too much so I try to keep it to a minimum, but I do drink.

However I would think twice about recommending it to people who are struggling. Alcohol is a depressant and can create dependency so drinking to cheer yourself up is the first step on a very slippery slope.

Like all drugs it can be good or bad. (Well, except mayb those really bad drugs that dont do anything good.) Abuse it, it's bad. Use it wisely, its good.

I don't like alcohol, it tastes awful and just no good.

My granpa was an alcoholic, my father is slowly becoming one...

I think it's OK if you drink it from your childhood or just don't abuse it. Like in Middle East, where people consume it from their early ages and precentage of alcoholics in the population is nearly 0. Because they basically get used to it.

In Poland children probably drink more alkohol than coca-cola. And the percentage of alkholics is enormous. If you drink from your childhood it will only mean, that you wont get drunk that easly. And that you'll be more likely to become an alkoholic at the age of 20.

I personally, don't like Alcohol.

That's not because i disagree with having it.

It's mostly because i can drink a lot of it... (Even tho I'm 5'1 and weigh about 100 odd lbs/7 and a bit stone?) I can walk perfectly fine.. i know exactly what I'm doing - and have no trouble doing it, i remember everything i did when i wake up in the morning, i get no hangover, nothing. Before you say that i'm an alcoholic and that's why i can tolerate so much alcohol, you're wrong. I rarely drink. I've only been drunk about 3 times in my life.

To me.. It’s just like pouring money down the toilet and flushing it! So pointless.

The only difference between a sober Seraph and a drunk Seraph is that i get a bit more talkative (usually I'm pretty shy - well, kind of).

But still, that isn't enough for me to enjoy drinking it.

I think it can be a laugh being with people who are drunk, cause you can make them do funny things! (Like when i made this girl lick up the beer she spilt ALL over the furniture and floor - which by the way.. she did lick it all up in the end :isayisay: )

i have never had a hangover. i only got sick from drinking once..but that was cuz i was drinking alot of cheap ginger brandy and it tasted just AWFUL. it was like the pickled ginger that comes with sushi mixed with strong alcohol.

oo serpah u are sadistic!! lol convincing that girl to lick up that beer.

i dont like being around drunk ppl when i dont have alcohol in me. i prefer buzzed ppl. i dont like being drunk myself actually.

i think having a drinnk now and then is better than being on those modern antidepressants/tranquilizers that the psych docotrs pass out to everyone who fusses about life and ends up gettin' them doped up. And it is true: alot of those drugs do hurt ppl and many become addicted.

As long as ur drinking does not interefere with ur duties, ur health and ur relationships w, ppl it is not hurting u.

The trouble with alcohol is that the effects are cumulative, so over time it damages your liver and can also damage your stomach, heart and other systems. And you could go out drinking heavily every weekend and still not feel this for years. I never got hangovers for years, then I started to get really bad hangovers. Then I stopped drinking and detoxed for a couple of months, and now I don't get hangovers, that's when I drink heavily at all.

In moderation it is fine I think.

well like i said the most i drink on a USUAL friday is 2 beers. I always moderate with alcohol. Also, i think that the hard stuff is worse for u than beer, wine, etc. I mean....vodka is really hard on one's liver ./

I actually believe that in v. v. small quantities alcohol is healthy. The 'french parodox' is believed to exist bc the people of france drink a little wine every day. Actual scientific studies have proved that red wine is beneficial to the heart.

pah. "good" and "bad" can mean so many different things. i think, like every other non-sentient thing, alcohol is neither good nor bad. it has no free will, y'see.
