MILLWALL 0-3 LIVERPOOL
Good performance from a changed team tonight. I was impressed with Potter, Biscan, Sinama and Whitbread. Whitbread looked a class act in the centre of defence. However, the win was marred by crowd violence and that is the main reason for my post.
I watched the match live on Sky Sports and have spoken to many fan's that were there tonight. We are sickened by the chants that could be heard throughout the match involving Ken Bigley, Hillsborough and Racism.
Hearing "monkey calls" everytime Traore, Diao or Sinama is hypocritical as there were "Kick Racism Out of Football" banners behind each goal. Chants of "Where's your Bigley gone?", "You should've died in Hillsborough", "96 is not enough" were sung by Millwall fan's for 90 minutes.
Along with hundreds of others, I voiced my views on You're on Sky Sports by email. Usually a situation like this is overlooked but they read out a fan's view and showed the number of email's that they had received. Ronny Whelan looked close to tears when he heard about the chants.
Surely the FA must step in a try to inforce something to stop this provocation?
What are other peoples views on this?
No doubt it will be reported in the press.

Good to see that after behaving well in Cardiff, Millwall's fanbase are back to their worst.

The BBC have reported on this..Clicky (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3957095.stm)
I'm absolutely disgusted with these Millwall "fans" who were heard to be making nasty and hurtful chants regarding topics that are associated with Liverpool, yet affected us all as a nation.
Who could honestly say they weren't affected by the Hillsborough tradegy and the Bigley execution?? You don't need to be a football/Liverpool fan to feel sympathethic towards these incidents, just a human being...
Just goes to show what type of 'people' Millwall attracts...

I know a Millwall fan who was at the game and he said Liverpool fans were chanting about the Millwall fans who were stabbed in Budapest last month before any of the trouble started, but i doubt this will be widely reported because of Millwall's reputation
All fans have idiot/thug fans, maybe Millwall have more than most but not all of them are like that =/

I watched the match last night and didn't hear that from the Reds fans, but if you are correct in what you say then I certainly wouldn't condone that either...
Like you've said Millwall does have a reputation (somewhat justified??) and it attracts non-football fans (i.e. thugs) because they think it'll add to their image. It's the same for a lot of the other clubs (Chelsea Headhunters for example)...
I totally agree that it is a minority thing but still not acceptable for any supporters to act that way... :(

Oh my god, why do that.
He got killed and his mother almost died of shock.
Theres no need at all for that.
Also if the liverpool fans were chanting about the stabbing they should be punished to.
At the city newcastle game, both fans gave each other stick, but nothing like this.
I am appauled by this.
FA have to take action.

"There was absolutely no problem with Millwall supporters at the game.
Of course what happened is never good to see in the stands but it was from the Liverpool end and there was no problem with the Millwall fans."WTF??
Alright if there were Liverpool fans chanting about Millwall fans being stabbed I still find it hard to take that they would resort to insulting people who died in tragic circumstances.
Stabbed Millwall fans: Were involved in crowd trouble with the Hungarian fans and were looking for a fight - what do they expect?
Ken Bigley and Hillsborough: Tragic events. The people involved had nothing to do with going out and looking to hurt other people.
These are two different columns of circumstances and I look down on Millwall more for resorting to that kind of chanting - especially as it also involves racism. If the Millwall fans went out looking for trouble and got hurt it is their own fault. Whereas Ken Bigley and Hillsborough were tragic events and do not deserve to be treated with such disresepct.
The beautiful game my ass.

All the reports i've read have said that Liverpool fans said about Hilsborough but it was hard to tell...
Millwall's reputation is justified in that it used to be completely ful of thugs, but there are (supposedly) less now as all football clubs are trying to get rid of this kind of people.
I agree that it's not acceptable for anyone to act in this way but i don't think all the blame can be laid on Millwall fans :(

For the chairman to come out and make that statement is ridiculous.
"There was absolutely no problem with Millwall supporters at the game. Of course what happened is never good to see in the stands but it was from the Liverpool end and there was no problem with the Millwall fans."
I agree the trouble was mostly in the Liverpool end but they were reacting to the provocative chants. Sky tried to cover up the chants by adjusting mic volume levels. I thought our away suport sounded loud!
I watched the match on the telly and could clearly hear monkey calls and other sickening chants. For someone in the ground to say they couldn't hear them is shocking. Phil Neal had to apologise to his radio listeners in the commentary box.
I guess this goes with their club motto "Nobody likes us. We don't care"

Its sick to taunt people like that and then for the chairman to blame it on the liverpool fans, anyone would have reacted in that way and millwall had no excuse

You can't forgive anything at the moment here in Liverpool. It really is sickening. In truth, the last 3 months have been awful, with bollock-head Boris, the deaths of a great DJ and an innocent civilian. There is no forgiving ANYONE who says these things. Rot in Hell, Millwall fans and everyone else who says something about a great city.

From BBC:
Fans of West Ham Football Club have clashed with police after their 1-0 defeat by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Police in riot gear were confronted by visiting supporters in a corner section of the ground around 10 minutes after the Carling Cup tie ended. Fans fought with police and Chelsea fans and it took 15 minutes for order to be restored.
A number of fans are thought to have been injured during the trouble.
A child is being treated for injuries relating to a crush.
Violent scenes also marred Liverpool's 3-0 Carling Cup win over Millwall on Tuesday.
:(
It sucks that this trouble comes so shortly after it was announced that the amount of football related arrests has declined =/

I think West Ham, as they are no longer with the big boys of the Prem, saw this as their opportunity to show everyone that their firm can still compete with them.
Idiots.
Idiots.

I know the person who used to do the diet for the milwall team (he quit when he realised they all went of the macdonals after training) anyway he was telling me about how organised the milwall fans are, i mean organised as in organised crime. They would throw marbles on the street to stop the mounted police, they would smash up peoples cars during the game, and they would lay spikes over car park exits when they heard cars coming.
Althought most of what they said was just horrible, i did find the "theres only one borris johnson" chant quite funny

I found this offensive because of the connotations....its just as offensive as the rest of the shit they said because of the meaning behind it.
Hope you understand that's why I minused you, so next time dont minus me back in a tit for tat style, twunt.
