This is a sad day indeed for the Reds. He was a great player for us in the days when Liverpool were the all-conquering team in Europe.

I can only hope that people have overlooked this thread in the sadness of his departure.

It is a shame to see him go at such a young age.

4 League titles, 2 European Cups, 2 UEFA Cup's and an FA Cup medal to his name.

A man who achieved that much cannot be forgotten.

May he rest in peace.
