Oi! Do you have the GC, xbox or dreamcast version?
If you have the GC version perhaps we could meet up for a game. I play a bit with 2 friends and we're always saying it'd be nice to have a 4th player...
PM me if your interested.

I played it on the original DreamCast version. I had a level 82 HUmar, Flash.. me and my mate FATE used to be con artists, we had so many good items it was unbelievable.
Spread Needle +99!
Woohoo!
On Dreamcast it used to always run no lag on a 56k. It was just brilliant.

Spread +99 eh? *looks shifty*
Had it on DC
Both PSO and PSOv2
Got to about level 174 RAmar then just gave up on leveling
Joined in friends for ultimate Falz, and just running like a loon in ultimate levels, letting them try to catch me
Ah the non existant lag on 56k (which you can't experience now, aparantly PSOE1&2 are laggy as hell...)
I DO have PSOE1&2 on GC, but aint reinstated my hunters licence for ages.
Got the game when it was out, got to level 18, aint bothered since.
Oh, and forget the +99 spreads mate (I never had one, mate did tho...http://members.lycos.co.uk/mad_mark2k/smilies/nshifty.gif)
You wanted invulnerability mags http://members.lycos.co.uk/mad_mark2k/smilies/twisted.gif

Bought PSO for the DC the day it came out in this country... played on US servers, because no one was on the EU ones. Stayed there, met some awesome people who I still play games with now and am best friends with...
Imported a Japanese PSOv2 from Hawaii shortly before it came out in the US (had to do some real complex stuff to play, resetting the DC's internal mem, using a DcX disc to boot the Japanese GDrom, setting up a hunters license in Japanese...), so I could play with the US friends who moved on to it, redid an awful lot of levels and eventually burned out (there really is only so many times you can do the same things over and over, it's the friends you make that keep you playing).
I remained legit right up untill the point where I was leaving, whereupon I asked some friends for some of the more... ~ahem~ 'fun' weapons so I could at least have a good time if I ever decided to crank it out and play offline again.
But actually finding the occasional 'super-rare' was fantastic, I was giggling like an idiot the day my RAcaseal found a normal Spread Needle... ;)
Unplayed now for almost 2 years... miss my characters, but not the game.
I'm now playing Dark Age of Camelot. MMORPG's 4tehwin, persistent worlds rock.

Phantasy Star ripped off Photon light Swords from LightSabres.

I used to have the xbox version but found I really didn't like the game - the levels seemed restrictive and the camera was fixed, so there were times when I couldn't even see what I was fighting against.
My son played it for a while then tired of it as well -- and usually I have to drag him off the xbox so I can get some time in.
The xbox version didn't even seem to take advantage of the power of the console for graphics or sound.
I didn't even bother taking it online -- i took it back.
It is a popular game and plenty of people are playing it, it's just not for me.

Thoar if you never tried it online thats why it was crap. PSO only really comes to life when played online.

I can't argue with you on that point. I'm sure that is the case. I was planning to single-player level a PSO character then head out online -- I thought it was a good idea to make both possible in the same game. I just couldn't stand the game long enough to do that. ;)
