I weep for cheese and marmite toasties done in a machine, not under the grill..

:o marmite!! oh noes :(

Cheese and ham all the way - but none of this grill stuff, from a proper toastie maker

Oh, and this isn't really a debate, try asking for it to be moved to Beginners

All aboard! This thread is now on the Midnight Express to Beginner's Forum. Tickets please!

Woo-woo. Chug. Chug.

er. we am there.

Ok, now that we have moved, I like cheese on double-toasted sourdough bread with a sprinkling of either garlic or parsley, but not both. The flavor or variety of cheese is entirely up to the consumer. Krunch!!! :eng101:

I don't have toasties, but I like cheese on toast with a dash of worchester sauce.

Aha, you could always change that into a toastie, mysterious w, by putting another peice of toast on the top! TA DA!

*cough*
I personally like egg and bacon toasties, maybe with a bit of brown or bbq sauce on the bacon.

The classics are always the best - ham and cheese.
This reminds me of ash's sandwich thread :)

Cheese + onion + proper toastie maker = divine.

Simple is always best.

I usually stick to good old fashioned cheddar, lots of it, done in a toastie machine and with ketchup on the side.

Tried putting camembert in once because there was no other cheese in the house. Was a rather interesting experience, personally I think camembert is best left un-toasted.

Curses, I'm hungry for some toastie now....

As others have mentioned: the classic ham and cheese is always a winner.

As for the cheese, it's got to be Double Gloucester. I went through a Red Leicester phase and can occasionally stretch to cheddar, but Double Gloucester makes the toastie of my dreams. Try it! You're unlikely* to be disappointed.

Damn you, cheeses, for making me hungry again!

QFT - the hometown comes up trumps :D We have an annual event of rolling said cheese down a very steep hill, and chasing after them...Oh, and we have a good rugby team too.
