I’ve never played any CS games before Source and I know most of these levels are converts from the old ones so I can’t compare them but I don’t like Trains. There’s nothing I can nail it down to, no specific problem it’s just not an enjoyable experience no matter what side you are on.
I’m growing to like Compound. Initially it does appear biased to the Terrorists, especially when they can afford sniper rifles, but it can be good fun. Not sure if the design is flawed but the position of the hostages means that by the time you reach them you will have encountered all the terrorists anyway or been killed. I think this might have worked out better as a bomb map.

I havent played the new versions yet. As my computer is currently buggered up hells creek. But i have played a converted version of train on source. And that was good. I used to Love train in 1.6 It was a great map. Just being able to sneak around all the carriges and so many hiding spots allowed for some really intense gameplay. If you know someones there but cant see them, you just keep looking for their legs under the carriges. Its got a good layout as the bomb sites are very close unlike maps like prodigy. Cant wait to play the new version of it though.

Train looks sweet although there are a few lighting problems, but otherwise faithful if not better than the original.
Compound I don't like much, it's too small imo and too many spots for snipers to take you out from all directions. I think the interior could have been better (a new prodigy?) if it were a little bigger and more complex. It feels more like a deathmatch, a deathmatch where you don't spawn instantly, which takes out the fun.

I've played on compound, the open sky really creeps me out but its a nice map, feels more like a proper battle field.
They need to fix the fence by the CT spawn because that just makes to many headaches with nades and people poping over though

I didnt really like the old "train" to much, i always thought i favoured the terrorists with their spawn being easy to defend and then plant the bomb when you'd killed most of the CTs, and there were alot of places where you could get caught in the open with nowhere to shelter, even in the narrow corridors. I've just had a look at the new one and it looks fantastic. I havent played in it yet but there are fall more places to duck into a hide (I dont mean camp by the way). It still looks like it would favour the terrorists though with loads of extra nooks and crannies to hide in near their spawn. "Compound" is brand new and i havent played on it yet either - just had a wander round it on my own, seems quite good. Although most of the space in it seems like you wouldnt need to go there during the actual game because the CTs would be trying to get the hostages. Well they should be anyway ;)

Compound:
Compound has a really nasty exploit thanks to the Source engine's LOD system. If you camp in a certain corner, some strategically important objects become transparent. And I can't believe Valve hasn't fixed it yet.
Also, Valve needs to put some invisible brushes in front of some walls to prevent weapons from sticking through brushes and objects. And there are a couple other exploits that take advantage of AreaPortals and whatnot.
Other than that, Compound is a nice map for any range of players between 2 and 32.
Train: A nice map, but one thing really bothers me: There are too many details. If CS:S was a single player game, fine. But in MP, it's important that you're not distracted by the many detail objects in the map. Another thing that bothers me is that they placed totally useless rooms in the map. I think Train has much more potential than what Turtle Rock is giving us. At least make the office rooms accessible to players. I prefer the old Train.
Conclusion: A nice addition to the existing CS:S maps, but seriously: I've seen hobby mappers do a better job than this. If you want to make money off this kind of stuff, make sure it's bug free and nicely playable.
