Has anyone actually met a 1337 kiddie in a game?

I’ve been playing online games regularly for just over a year now. I must have played hundreds of matches of Warcraft 3 and CS source and not once have I met and actually 1337 kid, just a few people who used it as sarcasm. When you think about it really time consuming and that can be fatal in any game.

Seriously, does they actually exist or is it a big joke by someone played?

I mean a proper full on 1337 speaker to avoid confusion who uses numbers and symbols all the time

It happened more back in the <1.5 days of CS. People who play source are more annoying and argue elaborately about the accuracy of the AK comapared to real life, and how the recoil isn't realistic and should bounce up a little bit more, etc.

i ran into it a lot in the MMORPGS i used to play. in fact, a lot of the people in my guild talked in perfect grammar and spelling, except they used numbers instead of the letters, ("h3y 1 ju57 5c0r3d f0ur 51n6ul4r17y k3ys, w4nn4 d0 4 51n6ul4r17y ch357 ru|\| w17h m3?") which was kind of weird, but it was easy enough to read, and pretty simple to type if you wanted to join in.

other than that, yeah i've met a couple in FPS's, but most people just throw leet into random words they want to put stress on, like
" man, i just totally 0wnz0rr3d that n00b. what a l00z3r."
or the like. i think total immersion in leet speak where every single letter is typed in symbols would be really difficult to learn to do, but probably back in the glory days of leet (quake? i dunno where it first started to apply to gaming) there were probably guys who could type just as fast in it.

I've encountered quite a few in MMORPGS. They usually seem to bug me for gold and such and don't leave until they get it. -_-

Na i think it's cool. It's interesting the way new cultures spawn new types of languages and ways of speaking, perfectly healthy in my opinion.

Yeah that sounds annoying. I've witnessed alot of sexism in online games, there is no excuse for it. Maybe it's because girls are a bit of a rarity in online games so when there is one everyone goes into alpha male mode. Or maybe the types of people who play online games are often sexist (possibly because they rarely socialise with girls/anyone?)
