CS: Source decent servers.. please

Hello! You might know me from such enthralling online games as counterstrike and... erm.. well thats about it. I usually hung around the UK2 servers on counterstrike but having recently purchased Source I was wondering if anyone could recommend any servers for me to use. I was pretty handy (sometimes) on counterstrike but i'm not quite used the the new prettiful surroundings on Source and have only really been playing around with bots. If you could recommend any beginner servers that would be even better. Cheers peeps and i hope to see you online soon.

213.208.119.249:27035 Clan {TFC} Something like 6th on the Enemy Down UK ladder. A good server, good maps and VERY good players. If you want to get better play the best.

A server dedicated to Dust2. Great fun as it alows i think 26 people on. Does tend to attract the odd hacker now and then, but generally ok.

Cant find the ip, but a great server is jolt hosted called The Birdcage. Friendly people, most of the players on it arent great so a good one for beginners.

You can alter the rank system so they have to get like 40 kills before they get ranked. That way you generally gte people who frequent the server.

{TFC} completely owned my clan, nethertheless it waws one of our first matches, so if we were better prepared we woulda owned em.
Most of the clans at the top prey on new clans to get their rankings.
In all they're a good clan but you can't really decide this on a ranking.
My clan were bottom of the ladder for a while, but in public we normally pwn all other clans.
Badform? Weren't you the guys who were complete arses and decided to find EVERY excuse to void the match?
We completely owned your arses.

I checked this out on Sunday and it is a good server with lots of friendly peeps to kill. I must admit I've never been on a server with so many claims of haxoring (not aimed at me I must add) but apart from that it was a blast!

I played rubbish yesterday on my own sever (rank went from 8 to 20 :() I wasted all my adrenaline owning my mates clan (27-0 on chateau). Yeah we have a couple of hack spotter obsessives :p

213.230.205.90 is Cunt Clan server, I have a couple of mates in Cunt and they patrol the servers for idiots fairly well and there's nearly always an admin about should you need it. I don't play there half as much as I should considering its quality.

Cheers guys :D I'm starting to get back up to scratch. I found 2 newbie servers (noob arena...) but they ended up being harder than the others - they didnt seem to have anything making sure it was just noobs in there :( so i've just been trying out a few different ones and i've found one with a nice range of opposition 82.136.36.30:27015 (although its empty as im posting this :D). please carry on posting your recommendations. Heh. yeah that was us. BUT... we have gotten so sick of CS recently. We have played so many clans that we do well against for the first few rounds, then one or two of them leave, basically we think to change rates and all that. It just got so fucking annoying. Sorry if we did accuse you, we went through a stage of 3 or 4 matches a day, and on a 4th loss you tend to get a liiiiiiil bit annoyed.

We have left that clan now - most of the people in there were twats and hackers, I was ranked like 3/250 at one time, then the hacking begain. Bastards.

Me and Lew have made our own clan and lew is paying for it along with some of his friends at school. It is surposed to be online today, me or Lew will post the IP later today or tomorrow, depends how long it takes us to set up all the maps and admin etc...

/offtopic/ ive been getting pings between 5 and 33 recently, i got banned off one server cos they thought i was "rate hacking" <-- can someone fill me in on what this means? /offtopic/

Your rate is the number of times you refresh your data to the server (I think xD)

If you "rate hack" you make the rate a huge number so that the server can't handle it and assigns you a 5 ping (which is the lowest you can get)

I like this server - very good :D Its a very nice place, with good rules and a nice mix of players. Theres 3 or 4 really good players and then some good players and then some noobs. Someone for everyone to shoot! Woo! :D Cheers YYYEEEAAAHHH ;)

BTW - (TOTAL RANT MODE ENGAGED) I was invited onto a League clan (BUM clan) server by a friend at work which needed a password and had a great time over the weekend. I was doing ok, holding my own then last night we where on Compound, I was a CT and I was totally owning the T's when this guy called Bowser asked who I was and how I got on the server. So I explained I'd been invited on by a friend and a couple of other CT guys spoke up and said roughly the same. Then Bowser and his mates went nuts saying this was a private server and they where going to change the password, so I left.

Bunch of Elitist pigs! I just want to play on a server of mixed abilities with no cheats and a friendly environment. I was lead to believe this was such a server and then these dicks decide to take their ball home because a few 'newbies' were doing better then them. Prior to this I was so impressed by the server I was just about to send them a donation to their paypal account to help pay for the rent (as they requested in this message that pops up every so often)...but now they can stuff it! (TOTAL RANT MODE DISENGAGED)
