They could make guns for the military but knowing Sony you'd have to go harvest iron for 15 hours a day just to keep the thing in working order only to find that after two weeks use you're overqualified and that the upgrade would cost you more money than you've ever earnt let alone seen.

It was kind of like a metaphor. But they have made lots of normal manual stuff, into electronic like irons. And yes i agree with the above they are pricy, only because they make their products very well and test it for ages, thus putting the price up.

Obviously we could compile a huge list of items sony don't currently make, but there wouldn't be much point in that.
Most people think sony are the greatest at everything, just because they are a massive company with a good reputation and competitive prices.
In the top end of most markets sony don't have many customers. You may think they have high prices, but not compared to other brands, i don't see many £30,000 sony hi-fi's!!! In the same way that many people think BMW's are expensive, but compared to higher end makes they are relatively cheap.

i like sony, their company ethics about no compromise in either the field of design or quality is something i like, i also like apple who have similar principles.

as a student price is biggest factor for me though.
