i am trying to move completely over to linux but the only thing that i can't get to work is my wireless networking card. I have found pages on the internet of ways to get it to work but i have no experience at all with any kind of command prompt so what i want to know is has anyone successfully gotten a Hawking Technology HWC54D card to work on linux and if you did, how? i would prefer it to be a simple thing that all i have to do is click on it and it works but if you give me a good place for clear instructions that says exactly what to do and how to do it, i might be able to do it in a command prompt.
thank you very much,
ryan

Refer to there. PM Wierd Al, or Lewiji.
They can tell you what you need to do.
Can you get on IRC? I suggest you find the IRC server and channel for the distro you're using and see if anyone there can help. It's been a goldmine of info for me!

What distro are you on in fact?
On lighter distros, you'll probably have to get some kind of kernal plug-in or otherwise 3rd party program to get more obscure wireless cards to work.
Yes, I suggest IRC or distro forums (try www.linuxquestions.org) and also the manufacturer website and their forums.
I can't be of much help since I haven't got any experience with wireless full stop!
We're going entirely wireless in September when we move into our student house. I'll let you know how hard that turns out to be :)
