My clan and i will be purchasing a server soon, and since i know theres some members of the forum who would like to use admin powers on server *cough* twiz *cough*

So im offering a sort of half admin, you get the fun admin powers like slay slap, freeze, blind etc, and some basic player managment, like kick and switch team and map options. This only applies to members of this forum, and i would prefere it if you were more of a known member like twaty bolloks, jimmeh etc

It won't cost the Earth, its looking like under £5/month, maybe even under £3.

I will opperate a selected first come first serve method.

I am a reasonably good player, and I know the game inside out, having played since CS version 0.7

I will not be available 24/7 (not even close) so if this is a requirement then sorry. But I do play for a few hours on most evenings and weekends, and I know how to tell the difference between damn good players and cheaters.

We sorting out way of paying money.... We are considering opening a bank account with natwest so people can write cheques and transferre money.

Dont worry about not being on there 24/7 we will have more than enough admins (trust me)

It's no problem for me to send someone a cheque, or to pay money monthly into a bank account via standing order (this would be the best option for me as I can then set up the direct debit and forget about it) - of course I'd need the bank details to achieve this.

I've got a couple of good custom maps. When I get home I'll put them in my webspace and post links so you can have a look.

It's also possible that I will make some maps for the server, it would be a great
channel to actually test my stuff with real players. (I'm still learning mapping for HL2 games, it's a wee bit tougher than HL1)

I did a W&B map some time back, but it was for CS 1.6. I could convert it to CS : S fairly easily but it wouldn't exactly take much advantage of the luverly graphics or physics!

I will pwn all your shotgun with my M4. I've been doing some serious training lately and it is lethal...Although my friend Tom who's only been playing for a month or two is better and gets accuses of hacking by EVERYONE (although he doesn't, I've been round to his and watched him play)

If the admin is clued up he can mirror the maps to a http server and set it up so u download quickly in game from that.

knas_speedcastle is one of the best maps I've ever played.

It's a fairly symetrical map with crates, fences etc round the outside and castle in the middle with 2 sniper points on each side. It is fast and action packed while still tactical.

Also, rox_dust_tower is very simple, crates around bottom, but it has a huge tower in the middle with a small point on the top-it's basic but it's effective, plenty of tactical play.

Haha, yeah any sounds can go on and any commands can be triggered by most events (bomb dropped, round start, player joins, bullet hits player etc) so there's a fairly wide range you can play/annoy with :p

We have some useful stuff like restrict scripts for shotgun only, knife only etc, however they don't work incredibly well for bots since using scouts only, the only command that can be used on a bot is bot_sniper_only which means they usually use AWPs :/ Plus match scripts that can automatically adjust settings (password on, fade to black) and there is a plugin which we haven't put on yet that can auto-manage teams in a match (you put in 10 rounds, it automatically switches all the teams after the 10th round)

Are you sure about that? Of the zillions of threads I've read about the subject no-one has ever suggested those! Saying that though, every bit of advice I've had on this says something different.

Yeah, your rates govern how much data you can send to the server... so obviously high rates = greater download speed :)

Unless they have raised the max possible values you can't get over 20000, 100, 100 regardless of what sv_maxrate may be set at.

Some servers accept 250000, 101, 101 but that's about it. A lot are now forcing everyone a max rate to make the match fairer...I think this is how it should be.

Enforcing a minrate is a lot more important in my opinion... I know some very nasty people who have a key bound to very, very, very low rates which they hit when they're being shot... cheating really.
