W&B Halo 2 Tournament

I will need some help setting up this thread and sorting out dates, times, gametypes, maps, decide on teams etc. - but not too many people, just one or two. Reply to this thread if you want to sign up to the championships (and put a note at the bottom if you want to help me with this thread...I'm looking in a few people's directions...).

I think it would be good if we had teams of 2-4 (but we'll see how many turn up) and we'll have to decide what weapons we have, which maps, what gametypes, shields/no shields/overshields, active camo etc.

3 Competitions + Finale
Round Robin style untill all teams have played each other, 1 point for a victory, 0 for a draw
Top 2 teams play each other in the final.


Double Team
2vs2

3 rounds
First to 25 kills wins. Matchmaking Team Slayer rules apply. Teams take it in turn deciding which map to play.
Suggested maps: Midship, Lockout, Ascension.

Team Slayer/Skirmish
4vs4

Alternate rounds of Team Skirmish and Team Slayer.
First to 50 kills/3 Points wins. Matchmaking rules apply. Teams take in turns deciding which map and game mode to play (either 1 Flag CTF, Assault or CTF)
Suggested Team Slayer maps: Ivory Tower, Collosus, Zanzibar, Ascension, Coagulation
Suggested Team Skirmish maps: Zanzibar, Containment, Coagulation.

Rumble Slayer
FFA

3 Rounds.
First to 25 kills wins. Matchmaking Rumble Slayer rules apply.
You get point depending on where you finish. You get 1 point per player that you beat. (ie in an 8 player game, first place would get 7 points).

Suggested maps: Ivory Tower, Lockout, Ascension.

Finale:
Zeolite Wars!

Beaver Creek CTF Classic.
First to 5 Points wins.
Standard Rules and Weapons.
As many people as available.

Teams are yet to be decided. If you would like to submit a team, PM FoxDhoj with the name of your team, members (along with Gamertags and a nickname), and also the captain of the team. Make sure you actually ask the people if they want to be in the team before submitting them. If your unsure about whether you can turn up, just come if you can then you can form a team with whoever else is there. It's most likely to happen this Friday or Sunday (/both), is this good with everyone? As we don't have a huge amount of people it might just end up with 2 teams fighting it out.
I'll post a detailed version of the rules soon.

FOZMA NO WAY AM I GOING AGAINST NINGA AND NEON! I DON'T DO GRUDGE MATCHES.

Also, I think we should encorporate some new maps (non-Killtacular of course) into the tourney. Team Skirmish would be good for Containment - CTF. Also, Ascension on Rumble Slayer and Coagulation on Team Slayer. I agree that Beaver Creek should be the last map for the last game - but no grudge matches, ash might make an even bigger unhappy face. And it's really unfair on me - I have got similar capabilities to ninga, so that's very unfair if I take both.

PS: I told Neon that if he want's to flame a thread, he can go do it somewhere else, like the cheese bin - and I told CRISPY to stop the txt language and double posts, and I'm not gonna argue over nothing with Neon. He just needs to grow up :D

Lol ok Fox, no grudge match. I've edited the rules, go look! Seeing as its highly unlikely that we will all be able to get on at the same time, i reckon we should try and get all the matches done this friday and the weekend (and monday as its bank holiday?) and any that are left over can be played as soon as possible.
Once teams have been submitted, i'll write it up into an excel spreadsheet.

By the way, they are only suggested maps, you can play whatever you want. Although there will be limitations, e.g we're not playing 2 vs 2 on Containment.

There are still level 30's wandering around the 1 - 10 area and you get your ass beaten bad for playing with some of these guys. I was a 7 before and I had to play for like 5 hours to get even better. I was pleased to out do myself and get 10 in rumble pit.

i don't usually play rumble pit, i usually play team slayeer or team big team battle. though i'll pretty much play anything. point being, if i play well i'm pretty good, in my opinion.

Sorry if that sounded slightly mean, but I've been losing interest with Halo and Bungie ever since the auto update. I hope you do get your levels back. Without sounding too pissed off also, I hate team games where people brag about their rank because they have a good team. There's not as much skill in it as if you were playing by yourself.

In optimatch, you go into team slayer with another 3 people who are really good and they win and get you higher levels. That's why I don't believe in it being a proper rank that people should go by.

Guys by the way this is about a tournament not who is better, but seeing as it has been brought up Polio, Cloud will own you in a game as you only got to level 10! Also team games do actually take some skill as they need to work as a team if you are going to play.

If you think thats horrifying, there are people who not only have two accounts to play, but two xbox's too. There's such a thing called clan boosting where several people have 2 accounts and two boxes and go into matchmaking in clan battles at the exact same time to get paired up and then one clan quits and the other team just wins. It is of course cheating and you can get all your accounts banned at once. Before the AU I knew every way to cheat up the ranks in great detail, but can honestly say that I never used it, for the fact I cant afford another account if my one gets banned.

Do we have any official dates lined up? We don't all have to be online at the same time, just enough of us to complete matches, rounds etc. Fox, draw up a table for rounds etc.
