What version of SCII do you plan on buying, or already have bought?

I bought the GC version for Link. I'm not much of a Tekken or Spawn fan.

Arses. Why couldn't there have been a MK character? Soul Calibur is boring. *sigh* All those BIG, tasty swords going to waste. Blood...I vant BLOOD!

ps2 ofcourse... it has the best controller for a fighting game...

mk is made by a competing game developer... tekken and sc2 is both made by namco... does that answer your question?

Well there all winners...

Best Visuals - X-Box, but GC comes close, PS2 suffers

Best Controls - PS2 is the best, X-Box second, GC falls

Best Character - GC has Link, the best character ever, Spawn is too much like Nightmare, Heachi...jaysis, hes exactly the same as in Teken!

Overall however, I would say X-Box and GC are the best.

I'll go for the PS2 version, as I think controls are the most important thing in a fighting game. Link is the coolest extra character, but I don't need link in SC, if I want to play with link (???noooooo, you all know what I mean) I'll put on a Zelda game

Soul Caliber is the best fighter ever.

I'm going for the xbox version and getting an arcade stick I think.
mind you the controler is similar to the dreamcast one so I might be ok with that.

I'd still go for the GC version (becuase I dont have a PS2 or X-Box:D ) but even if I did I would still go for GC. The controls, though not perfect, are perfectly acceptable, the visuals are brilliant and Link rocks.

Yeah, I know what you mean, hehe. I have PS2 and GC, but I went with GC knowing full well that the controls would take some getting used to, but it's worth it to see Link finally kick some ass.

Yeah. Super Smash Bros was to lightweight. Zelda was a bit cartoony. But on SC2...we can finally see Link...

the xbox version is the best for several reasons

1. Link seems out of place with the rest of the characters(i.e. no blood or gore or serious fighting moves in Zelda games)
2. Link is hella cheap, even though fun to play with
3. Spawn fits best with other characters
4. Hiachi is too slow and sucky to fight with
5. xbox has best graphics
6. Spawn is not cheap and is still fun and cool to play with, even though I wish he had his axe and his cape even though he would not have his axe without his cape

Best graphics? I see the graphics of X Box and PS2 fairly equal.

Heiachi? DUMBASSES! GET DANTE INSTEAD!

Dude, he'll just swing the Alastor around abit.... good stuff! Heiachi is an old BASTARD WHO NEEDS TO BE PUT DOWN!

Besides, Tekken sucks balls- at least give him a weapon, dumbasses!

I'd go for Gamecube, just because Link is awesome. My friend has that already, though, so I'll put PS2 on there too, cause of controls. (and I dont have xbox)

I have the gamecube version although I never use link. I think That Soul Calibur is the best fighting series ever!

This fine display of thread necromancy nicely coincides with the SC2 session I'm planning after work tommorow.

I mostly use Cassandra or Talim. I've played both the PS2 and Xbox versions quite a bit and we've never really liked using Heihachi or Spawn, they just don't feel like they fit in. Necrid can go to hell while I'm at it.

I have SCII for the PS2. Personally my favourite fighter is Cervantes, mainly because of the Psycho-Crusher-aping move. :D
Also, if you think Heihatchi is weak because he doesn't have a weapon, you need to think again. If you know what you're doing, Heihatchi kicks arse.

I'm also looking forward to SCIII. The character creation mode looks sexy.

Well well, Someone said that the gc controls are the worst -__- How can you argue, its pretty much of what you are used to.
I do'nt really like Xbox's Spawn, does he really has anything t do with SC? Heihachi could have been in every version he's just added because ps2 couldn't have anyone else :D
Graphics are pretty much the same and overall the only thing matters is the charas.

OKok you have hit a nerve, Soul calibur is my department.
firstly, after comparing all the versions and meeting people who play others but the gamecube they have all ended up on the gamecube. the way the pad is layed out is perfect. some people say things like the C stick makes it easy...dont use the c stick.
Another one is Link seems out of place or link is cheap well you could say kilik is cheap too with his multiple hits with a few button presses but then if you truely think hes cheap then dont use him. thats what me and my friends did. although spawn is cool i just love the way the GC plays

The gameplay is slightly different for each version also and we found the GC version the most comfortable and the easiest for competition.

I wonder, there must be a soul calibur 2 competition going on somewhere. anyone know of any because i really want to kick some ass with my mighty maxi. WOOCHA
