Well, I always thought Hairy Lee was based on moog. He does have a spiffy beard and just so happens to be called Lee (afaik tbperfectlyh)

Strange, I always thought Hairy Lee represented Old Labour, unwilling to move with the times and modernise, whilst Weebl and his constant self-serving schemes symbolised the rampant capitalism of the 80s, with Bob being the ordinary member of the public who suffered as a result of these things.
