Yes. Yes. And yes.
Bananas are good, pure and simple. If we didnt have Bananas, fruits' image would be forever tarnished.
And i would eat any fruit at all... cause bananas be the only fruit i like :D

I quite like bananas. 7/10 probably. They're not quite up there with apples.
More importantly, I am looking forward to the sweet, sweet burnage when a mod sees this thread. Or indeed anyone sane.

Personally I love bananas, they bring no end of joy to the world (except probably the poor people who grow/pick them). They give you serotonin! Thats the happy hormone! \o/
I do actually have a friend who doesn't like bananas. But then, she doesn't like chocolate either. Odd girl.
I seem to have some odd friends now that I come to think of it, another mate will eat barbeque sauce but can't stand ketchup. She won't kiss her bf if he's been eating ketchup that day - and bizarrely she can tell! And not likeing ketchup means she also doesnt like baked beans - in fact, the very mention of them makes her shudder. I'm thinking its probably more of a phobia.

it is scientific fact... in less than one generation (of people, not bananas), maybe even a decade, the current most common variety of the fruit could well be extinct:
"Bananas stand in greater peril to disease and insect damage than the majority of other fruits because they are sterile, seedless mutants. New plants are created from cuttings of existing ones, making them little more than clones of one another. Without the natural diversity resulting from seed reproduction, bananas continue on generation after generation with the same genetic makeup. Their inability to mutate and adapt leaves them vulnerable to species-wide disaster, because what fells one of them will prove the undoing of every plant within that particular variety. In the 1960s the Gros Michel, then a hugely popular variety of the fruit, was wiped out by another strain of Panama Disease. The loss of the Gros Michel promoted the Cavendish into the #1 spot."
Cavendish = the current standard supermarket type banana (U.S. and Canada). Incidentally, this just means if the Cavendish goes extinct we will all just have to make do with one of the other 300 varieties, but still, it's nice to see the Doomsayers are focusing on something other than Oil shortages and the End of Mankind.

As a post from a relative Beginner (less so than me, though) I think the following is more on the right track:

This reminded me much of Monty Python's Argument Clinic (http://www.infidels.org/news/atheism/sn-python.html) , though that's more to do with the difference between an argument and a contradiction...

Some people might get the wrong end of the stick when you ask if they like bananas...
But yes, I do. The yellow/green kind. Haven't tried the red 'uns.

I thought this had sunk to the bottom of debates already.
Then i woke up.
I read once that the levels of patasium in bananas is so high that you could kill youself from eating too many.
I have since learned that the levels are such that, although possible, you would need to eat a hell of a lot.
Yes anything can kill you if you eat a hell of a lot of it...i know :p

Bananas are on the good side of the fruity world, but they get pwned by strawberries, grapes, mangoes, nectarines etc.

I enjoy bananas and banoffee products greatly, but i despise banana crusha. It's the most evil substance ever created.
And they're yellow!!!!!
Don't be so racist.
I have never been fond of banana or banana flavoured things...just makes my stomach churn
