View Full Version : Good Morning World!

So here's the deal.
Due to my good friend insomnia, I've been up all night. Right now, the sun is rising - the sky is all sorts of pastel shades, pink, blue, yellow... everything is misty and vague but you can see for miles. I don't feel tired anymore, if it were acceptable at six in the morning I would have a shower, make breakfast. I feel so awake and ready.
This is what I truly love about the mornings here. The earliness, seeing the beginning of the day.
When I was at my old house I loved lazy mornings - the weekend, shining sun. Getting up at 10 and walking downstairs to hear the radio and the sound of frying bacon. Spending the day with friends just chatting and doing nothing :)
In a little while I'm going to have breakfast, a shower, do stuff that needs doing. I'm also going to have a fantastic day. What makes you certain that your day's going to be excellent?

When you wake up, open your eyes, and don't want to shut them again. You've had a good night's sleep (k i'm saying the opposite to the previous post at the mo) and you've had your toast/shredded wheat/curry for breakfast, and you actually look forward to work. No bills in the mailbox, petrol in the car, and a dry road - happy days. Seeing as I'm leaving the house around 6:30, there's no-one about, nice to open the car up a bit :D
So yes, I'm generally the one cocking about in work :D
Life's just gonna get better though!

I roll out of bed around 1 O'Clock, I've already got 4 or 5 messages on my cell phone inviting me various places, there's powerbars and apples in the fridge for breakfast and I still feel great after going for a 2 or 3 mile run. Then I put my computer in the bathroom and sing along to songs at full volume for 20 minutes while I take a shower.
It takes a lot to ruin a morning (yes, 2 o'clock is the morning for me.) like that :D

I've positioned a mirror next to my bed so every morning I wake up and see my fit face
Then I make out with myself for 10-20 minutes. 30 when my hair is just "fab" like Mr Bed Head you know?
Then I look out at the grey sky and say TODAY IS FONZ DAY and I flex my guns
Then I start crying lolol
The reason for my early antics is i have my own personel alarm clock, unfortunately i cant hit it with a hammer every times it goes off because i would go to prison.
and i really dont find the idea of hitting my son, or any baby, very appealing!

I also rather enjoyed fonz and I's early morning drinking contest, because being slightly drunk in the small hours is fun and a good* way to start the day :eng101:
I drank 2cl of peppermint gin, 34%vol, and was planning on more.
He drank half a bottle of ale (6%) and a capri-sun.
You decide for yourselves who won ¬_¬
*it's not actually a good way to start the day, but fun nonetheless.

It's only true when you've had coffee and/or tea. Which I am going to go and do now. You really can't beat a nice hot mug of tea first thing in the morning ^_^

Personally, i know it's a good day when i'm able to jump out of bed and not feel tired, then i remember what stuff i have to look forward to and if it's good it makes me happy. also, it definitely helps if there's something cool for breakfast. And if the sun is shining, well that just tops it off
Congratulations! You have been targeted by Operation Pixie (http://www.weebls-stuff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37932). The troops are moving in...

I know its going to be a good they when i wake up all by myslef. No clocks, parents or other bollocks. When i wake up by myslef i know i had enough sleep for a good day.
Brekfast must be eggs in that case. If its not eggs it means i didnt have enough sleep...or we have no eggs.
Has anyone noticed that when you are awake all night and when your tired and then suddenly you feel ok again. Its like a backup generator working in me. (im such a machine lol)

It's a good day when I've slept more than 2 hours. However, this doesn't happen too often, so usually I end up going for a walk at 4am, which is actually really quite nice. The air is cool and refreshing and it's always quiet, and no traffic either.
Having a full fry up at 3am is cool too :D
Today's gonna be a boring day, packing suitcases...But tonight I'm going to Florida :)

I love seeing the sun rise. Just waking up as its rising makes me all deep and poetic and philosophical.
Or something.
Best Mornings are the ones that start at about 3pm.
Today isn't one of them.

I know it's going to be a good day when I wake up with something called: energy.
Knowing that I don't have to drag myself around the house for an hour or so before I'm properly awake is such a nice feeling and puts me in a good mood for the rest of the day :) .

Waking up and my fringe not being stuck up like a cockatoos. Or waking up completely naturally, no alarm... just waking up and being awake.

I keep sleeping through the morning, the closest I've got is getting up at 10 today. I'm content sleeping 'till 3. :)

Normally I adore mornings - but this morning I overslept - really really rare for me. I opened my eyes at 9.30. Thank goodness for working flexitime! Bu shame that I can't be basking in the hot sunshine that is currently taunting me through the office window...

I like to wake up around 9am and listen to dance music in just my pants.
Awesome.
Opposite for me, I absolutely love waking up early to rainy mornings. I'm always an early waker, 9:00AM at the latest, and I just love lying in bed looking out and listening to it all.
Dark mornings for the win!
I haven't had one in so long I don't remember. I guess it would be sleeping enough, but not waking up with a headach.

What I like about mornings? Pastries. Buying pastries before heading to the office. MMmmm... pastries. Pork pastries.
'Huh?' you are ready to be a parent.
You are all so bloody lucky! You can just lay in, and even if you do have to get up for school, at least you get 2 whole blissfull layins every week! and holidays too!
Dont take it for granted whatever you do.

The mirror that I have sums up how I feel about mornings perfectly:

I'm really not a morning person. Given the oppurtunity, I like to sleep late and wake up in time for lunch (which then becomes my breakfast).
However, when I do have to wake up early then coffee makes everything better. I also have a theory that if end up hard boiling my eggs then it is going to be a horrible day. If they are done just right, then my day is going to go well.

I am not a morning person but these days I have to be, because I have this job thing.
Given the opportunity I would snooze until at least midday. I don't like being woken up; the feeling of waking up naturally (and thus having had a good night's sleep) is one of the best things in the world for me. Luckily I tend to take an afternoon nap to recreate it if I don't get it of a morning :eng101:

Well, in the morning you can, erm, eat breakfast, and, if you have a decent shower, have a decent shower. Unfortunately our shower does not fit this description a so I tend to have a crap shower.

I'll just stick to bed thankyou.

You lucky, lucky git! Florida is my favourite place in the world, I love it there! If you need any tips give us a shout, I'm a Florida expert!
On topic though, I know it's going to be a good day if I wake up really tired and think "Oh no, I'm knackered...I really don't want to get up yet!" then look over at the clock and it's like 3am or something. The joy I feel at that moment is indescribable and I fall soundly back to sleep convinced this is an omen it is going to be a good day.

I don't tend to get out of bed untill about 1o'clock...
But soon i'll have to get up because i'm starting a new job :(
I don't drink anything caffinated so am always shit in the morning.
I tend to know in advance that my day will be shite.
It cheers me up when i call my brother at 5am - after going out- and screaming at him
"WAKE UP YOU LAZY SHIT TIME TO START A FRESH NEW DOG, IM GOING TO SLEEP OFF THIS BOOZE"
It's then and only then that i'm giving him a "Mittwoch" morning
'Huh?' you are ready to be a parent.
What makes you say so? I can barely feed my cat. Plus there's the whole age issue and the "argh it's a baby" factor I possess. :)

yes, yes you did.
i know its a good day when either i wake up and im wide awake straight away, not tired in the slightest, or when i wake up really early on a weekend, get out of bed, then realise its saturday or whatever and i dont have to get up til i want to. then i just go back to baed and sleep til midday. always puts me in a good mood, and days are gennerally good when im in a good mood.

My mornings are like any other, pretty boring.
Best morning wakeup recently was on the ferry back from Norway. Brilliant sunshine, the gentle lolling of the waves, the memories of a brilliant night, and the realisation that I dont have any trace of a hangover.

i know that its going to be a good day when i wake up actually feeling refreshed and not tired, when its sunny (it has been raining soo much this summer), and when i dont have any obligations that day. I love being up early (though that happens rarely if i dont have class or work) and not having anything in particular to do. It so nice getting up when its sunny and not too incredibly hot and walking to the park to get some coffee when everything is still quiet.
