Ethics Test

This test only has the one question, but it's a very important one. By
giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally.

The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which
you will have to make a decision. Remember that your answer needs to be
honest, yet spontaneous. Please scroll down slowly and give due
consideration to each line.

Dilema...

You are in Florida, Miami to be specific. There is chaos all around you
caused by a hurricane with severe flooding. This is a flood of biblical
proportions.

You are a photojournalist working for a major newspaper, and you're
caught in the middle of this epic disaster. The situation is nearly
hopeless. You're trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses
and people swirling around you...some disappearing under the water.
Nature is unleashing all of its destructive fury.

Suddenly you see a man floundering in the water. He is fighting for his
life, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You move
closer...somehow the man looks familiar. You suddenly realize who it
is....

It's George W. Bush!

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him
under...forever.

You have the two options, You can save the life of G.W.Bush,

or

you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the
death of one of the world's most powerful men.

So here's the question, and please give an honest answer:

Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the
classic simplicity of black and white?

Err...right. Colour I guess. Why?

Black and white. They'll be black and white in the history school textbooks anyway, so why put them in colour?

Nuclear Spoon

Hehe. Both probably. The guys always like to be given a choice.

Full colour, less conspiracy that way.

Black and white. They'll be black and white in the history school textbooks anyway, so why put them in colour?

Because the death of George Bush would be in more than just history books. Everyone will want the poster for their room :D

Colour.

It can be made into black and white later, if needed.

wyrd_fish
31-08-2005, 05:33 PM
colour, you can easily b&w it later, it won't be as good, but i feel it's a nice compromise

High contrast colour!

I really like the wording of that post, :D

I would go for high contrast colour film... then fade it to black and white in post production, just as he gets pulled under. :)

Definately colour. Better detail.

Exactly. Bit of a silly question if you ask me... :(

Colour, tis easy to make it black and white in Photoshop :D

I like the twist at the end there :p

As above

O RLY?
31-08-2005, 05:59 PM
This thread made me lol.

Definetely color. Black and white could be made later, and if you color black and white, it's not as good as if it was actually taken in color

Definately colour. Better detail.
for detail i prefer B&W

but that's just me

i still ahve a B&W tv for special occasions :D

Bisyss
31-08-2005, 06:08 PM
Colour, because you can change to B&W later while you're Photoshopping the Loch Ness Monster in. :D

EDIT: And Elvis. You can't forget Elvis.

Black and White, it's more artistic that way.

Nice twisty. I'd say colour. But I'd make it 16 bit, just to be rebelious.

Pfft. The only drowning joke that is funny is:

1: If you saw your Dad and a prostitute drowning in a lake, and could only save one, which would you save?
2: My dad!
1: What, and let your mum drown?

lattherobogirl
31-08-2005, 07:38 PM

o·pin·ion
n.

1. A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof: “The world is not run by thought, nor by imagination, but by opinion” (Elizabeth Drew).
2. A judgment based on special knowledge and given by an expert: a medical opinion.
3. A judgment or estimation of the merit of a person or thing: has a low opinion of braggarts.

I know what an opinion is. I'm just right. Seriously, what makes this different from evey other time someone puts approximately zero effort into a thread by copying and pasting an e-mail he got? They normally get locked, why should he get kudos and shit for this, really pretty crappy joke.

...but then, wouldn't that make the whole "Look What I've Found" section entirely necessary to delete by exactly the same logic?

i agree that one shouldnt copy and paste things but i still thought it was really funny

I just get frustrated by posts that are more than about 7 lines longs...

And if it is longer than that, then i have to be able to get the jist of it just by 'scanning'

black & white - if it made Schindler's List fantastic, it'll make this fantastic. Plus, you could always add colour into it, like the tie colour and leave the rest shockly black and white. Makes it more human.

I prefer B&W personally.

If the entire LWIF section was filled with c&p rubbish then yes. However, it does seem to be filled with links to games/videos/comedy articles etc etc.

/me annoyed tonight.

EDIT - I almost forgot, WHERE IS YOUR TACT PEOPLE???? Or at least common sense.
