OK, this probably isn't the most unbiased place to put this, as its commonly known that people who use computers and have a GSOH drink a lot of coffee. Maybe I'll be proved wrong. I'm just interested.

I dont really like it. My youthful energy keeps me going, although later in life I probably will turn to cafene to keep my eyes open.

Well, I'm split. I don't like tea, and don't particularly like coffee. Maybe a latte or cappaccino. I think it tastes way too strong and bitter - tea is weak and bitter, but I can stand it sometimes. Personally, I just don't see the point in warm drinks that much. People drink coffee and tea way too much. It burns, BURNSSS. A bit. On the tongue.

I drink a lot of coffee at work. I have the largest mug in the company, it has about four times the capacity of anyone elses' mug.

Rarely drink the stuff at home though.

Bitter. Ich.

Although it does remind me of a particularly funny conversation a friend and I had.

Andy: Do you like coffee?

Me: Nah.

Andy: Oh, not another tea person.

Me: I don't like tea either.

Andy: Do you like any hot drinks?

Me, after pause: I like orange juice.

I couldn't live without my three espressos a day. *starts juddering uncontrollably*, but seriously I love coffee...unlike tea. *glares at tea*

I love coffee, I drink it all the time. Sometimes I have it to wake me up or keep me awake if I've got a lot to do, but mostly I just drink it because I like the taste. People seem to think I'm strange because I always drink coffee black - I find that milk makes it taste bad.

As for tea - I haven't drunk the stuff for 5 years. :p

...i need the caffeine...

i shall need it more when all my classwork this terms starts getting out of hand (due to begin in the next week or so) and the only spare time i'll have is evenings-onward.

either one works for me. but coffee is easier to get in larger quantities, especially when i don't want or have time to make it for myself.

I'm not a fan of either, tbh I don't like hot drinks in general. If I need energy, I get Lucozade.

My lack of caffeine probably explains why I fall asleep on the bus a lot :(

Discodoris

Coffee is without a doubt one of my main pleasures in life - preferably served in the turkish style, sweet and strong/thick enough to hold the spoon upright whilst it dissolves. It is one of my favourite flavours too... Combine with dark bitter chocolate with a real high percentage of cocoa solids and I am in ecstacy

Who needs coffeé, I rely on Coca-Cola to provide my energy, ut tastes nice and you don't burn your tongue.

:eng101: you know, if you drink coffee like you want to taste it, rather than chucking it down your cheese-loving throats, then you wont actually burn yourself :eng101:

Hmmm..

I love lattes when they do them in proper glasses with just the right amount of milk.

I usually have to add an obnoxious amount of sugar to my coffee however, which offends those real hard core coffee lovers out there.

I like coffee, but only if it's black with no sugar and no milk. I don't really drink it for the caffeine content, but rather the taste (as long as it's decent coffee and not cheap crap :p )

Oh yeah, Ice Coffee rocks more than coffee. Usually 'cause it has quite a lot of milk...(oh and ice tea)

BlueberryMuffin

Yes, I love coffee. I couldn't live without coffee (almost literally, if it wasn't for coffee I'd most likely be constantly late to work and recieve no income). I usually like my coffee extra strong for it's caffine, but also enjoy coffee flavoured items e.g. coffee thickshakes at local milk-bar.

I'm sure I heard there are like...30 different things in coffee that could cause cancer

captain canuck
10-09-2005, 03:33 AM
maybe.... but direct sunlight is just as likely to cause cancer, so i really don't see that there's any point in avoiding coffee for that reason, given that it's impossible to avoid sunlight without going all pale and squishy and lethargic... and that might just do you in sooner.

I hate coffee.
Not just because it has two e's at the end, so i nearly always spell it wrong, but because it tastes like the bastard child of coke and chocolate in boiling water.

Can't stand coffee. Tastes like dirt mixed with water. I do like Coffee Cake and Coffee Ice Cream though...

Give me a mug of tea anyday...

are we talking about instant coffee or real coffee?

-instant coffee

pros

-its instant to make

cons

-its bitter
-its sour
-its watery
-heavily processed
-needs much sugar

-real coffee

pros

-it isnt bitter
-can be drunk and enjoyed without sugar
-it isnt watery
-it isnt sour
-not so processed

cons

-takes slightly longer to make

so if a pro adds 1 point and a con takes away 1 point:

instant coffee = -4

real coffee = 4

there its proven coffee is good unless its instant.

i prefer tea, there is so much more exoticness if you shop around, it's nicer on the teeth and less extreme on the whole.. oh yeah, it's less american too, ladies love a tea drinker.

Coffee is really nice when you get used to it (and evantually love it)

Oooh Yeah
10-09-2005, 01:38 PM
is that before or after your teeth enamel wears off and they turn black? `_`

wayland jr
10-09-2005, 02:23 PM
heh somebodys been drinking "tesco value instant coffee" that will definetly wear your enamel off! O_o but why does coffee supposidly destroy your teeth the only way i think that could be possible is if you put alot of sugar in coffee...

[edit] what do you mean tea is more exotic if you buy real coffee beans to grind ect... you can get them from anywwhere in the world each with its own unique flavor, strength and aroma.

Oooh Yeah
10-09-2005, 02:27 PM
well the inside of my old mans teeth are black, since he started working back in the day he's had 4 cups of black strong coffee a day, i don't think he takes more than 1 sugar.. i do not exagerate here, the inside of his mouth is black, he regrets it now because he has to have his teeth proffesionally cleaned privately each month, which is about £1/minute for 30 minutes..

we have always had kenco/red mountain when you used to get a free can of mountain dew attatched.

wayland jr
10-09-2005, 02:31 PM
ah kenco is instant coffee which has been repetedly freeze dried and mucked around with so it doesnt resemble coffee anymore so it was perhaps an additive that has done that, did he smoke otherwise because smoking can do that to you teeth and mouth....

Oooh Yeah
10-09-2005, 02:35 PM
freeze dried if i remember when i read about it is good, they use it on fruits in jordans country crisp, and that cereal is freaky nice.

i believe freeze drying is better.

wayland jr
10-09-2005, 02:38 PM
freeze drying removes all the good flavor from coffee anbd turns it sour bitter and nasty but jordans country crisps strawberrys are rather tasty, also i said it was probaly an additive that did it and you cant say additives are good (lucky charms dont count! :p)

jonffm
10-09-2005, 02:41 PM
freeze dried coffe is not nice. It's only alright when you're too lazy to make real coffee.

Coffee = Teh lovely, though.

Nothing better than a large latte with an extra shot of espresso from Costa. Lovelt stuff.

wayland jr
10-09-2005, 02:45 PM
careful though once youve had real coffee its very difficult to go back to drinking instant...

i would like to try some of the poop coffee from harrods, i think it's £50 a cup, basically they feed raw coffee beans to some leopard in africa, then sift out the poop, and it's meant to be quite nice partially digested.

obviously the diet is regulated and the animals enjoy their aenimas.. no harm done to them.

i wouldn't pay that much for a cup though.

Lestat
10-09-2005, 05:52 PM
hmm interesting i wonder how many people have died from that coffee, well if its £50 a cup then it must be toxic! it must be! hehehehe *gets dragged away to the cheese bin*

fixed you cannot possibly mean coffee as the smell of roasting coffee is the 2nd best in the world (best is baking bread). coffee had a warm rich aroma but instant smells just bland and um.... watery.
id suggest you all try real coffee before posting in this thread (either buy beans, a grinder and a cafe tiere to make it yourself or go to costas or starbucks) there is a massive difference between the two and instant coffee is not a fair representation of ground coffee.

I love coffee, but I don't drink it to wake me up unless it's something like counter-strike that doesn't consume too much time as caffeine fades very quickly on me.

I just love the taste of all the different varieties, a good mocha or frappuccino is lovely if you want something sweet, double espressos for hardcore drinkers who like a hit of flavour in a small shot (it's the coffee equivalent to a strong whiskey shot), and nothing beats the taste of gold blend in the morning.

Mmm.
