What do you prefer listening to music on? I myslef prefer vinyl, the sound quality might not be all that good on the records from yester year, but there's something more authentic about it than a cd or an mp3. vote. please.

Definitely CD. I am fanatic about my CD collection, have to keep them all in pristine condition. I love the artwork, the little booklets and stuff with the lyrics and the photos you get with them and they are handy to take anywhere with you. You don't get that kind of nicety from MP3's, and I love the artwork on Vinyl but you can't really just pop a few into your bag to go to a friend's house with or listen to travelling to work or school.

Nothing like listening to your fav tracks on vinyl. I love the crackling sound of the old tracks

I collect a lot of music on mp3...
I get new albums weekly... and i listen to it all
I then buy the stuff i like on cd.
and buy boxsets, or limited stuff
and visit the concerts...
vinyl is nice and nostalgic, but also a bit overrated...

I have to say, it depends what you're listening to. For me it's:
Vynil for Old rock like Led Zep and Old Heavy Metal too, as well as for more recent rock a la belle and sebastian and also Prog Rock
CD for Trance, Break Beats etc. and also for New styles of Metal
Tape for Live music...because you don't skip - live music is pointless if you skip tracks when listening to live music
MP3 when you want to listen o whatever on your PC

i own some very expensive hifi gear and i think cd's are the best simply because you have unrivaled sound quality (well it depends on your equipment) and it will last a very very very long time,
my hifi :)

MP3 myself, just love the convenience of it. Though my CD collection numbers into the hundreds, i pop a lot of it on the PC or the HD100 (like an ipod but not).

I have to note- nobody voted for cassetes. I listen to cassetes in the car, 'cause our car doesn't have a CD player.
Otherwise, I like listening to soundtracks on CD (like I am now!). It just seems more convienient for me. Something about owning the material CD I like also. I have all the EverClear CDs, even though I don't use them, but the material value of having them is nice.
MP3s are nice for just about anything else. I Usually use MP3s for downloaded music (duh), which is mostly those lame one hit wonders I download for jokes, or japanese music that is WAY to expensive for me to buy on CD. I had an MP3 player, but I broke it(brilliant, ariel).
I have never had a vinyl of anything. I was born to late.
I must say, I am a crazy about having the 100+ CD collection like my dad. My dad would buy any CD, even if it had one song he liked on it. It opens up new horizions.
Music is a wonderful thing.

Shnooks, my sister's friend used to have a casette-only car too and he used a special casette which had a wire coming out.
You can plug into any device (the ear-output). So you could easily (easely?) wire up your mp3/cd/whatever -player...

tapes have had their day!
I don't think Mp3's will replace CD's however!
But nothing can replace vinyl's, I hope they are around forever! :D
my fav are CD's however!.... I don't have a pc in my room (yet! ;)) so I can't really appreciate Mp3's!

i had a very old tape player, and i was really annoyed though when i had to get rid of it, cause it was really good.
When i could record stuff onto tapes, i could put the pause button down half way when playing it back, so it went really slow.
And when recording, i put the play and record button down half way, and when it came out, i could make it so it played back over the top of a thing i had said origionally, very cool :D
It was really old though, i had it for many many years, and i don't think it was made to do that kind of thing :(
