May I be the first to welcome you to the forums. Here are a few guidelines for you:
1) Don't use text speech or spam
2) Get adopted - the thread of which is here: http://www.weebls-stuff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36970
3) Post well
4) Read the FAQs
Have fun here :)

Well you seem nice, use proper grammar, and have already posted a decent metaphor. You'll fit right in.

Yeah, mr fonz hasn't taken the neccesary pills in a long time.
You seem cool, and don't really look to need to stay in beginners, so just go out and kick some (explosivo) ass. And post well and that shit.

Ah cool. Are you Irish yourself then? Or just an impersonator?! Either way - it's always nice to hear the mother tongue being used.

Noted. Wouldn't want that.

Well thanks. Good to know. Reading the FAQ and New user Survival Guide were a bit daunting. I'm sure i'll catch on soon enough though.

Also noted, thanks amigo.

Wow. So I'm a minority then. I feel so special!
So where are all these Irish people from then? Dublin I suppose. I'm a Dubliner but I happen to be unfortunate enough that my Father is from Leitrim so I live in Leitrim now.
Oh yeah - One more question - how do i get an avatar? I've been trying to figure out where people get them but I'm stumped.

Go to User CP and choose Edit Avatar (It's on the left-hand side of the page). From there you have around 340 avatars to choose from.
And may I offer a warm hello? As Lestat said, there are some other Irish people on these forums. The only one whose name I can remember off the top of my head is Silver Wolfe, but I haven't seen her around for a while...

hm. slightly unrelated thought... i'm in the initial stages of plotting a trip for next summer involving a gratuituous amount of backpacking through the UK, and would appreciate any pointers concerning the best parts of Ireland to visit...
I shall harass Englanders on another thread for further thoughts concerning that part of the UK later...
i haven't seen any Scots yet, but maybe I'm just not looking hard enough...

Depends on what you're looking for. If its scenery and traditional Irish crap you're looking for I'd suggest Connemara. (an irish speaking region on the west coast)

Come on the Leaving Cert!!! WOO HOO!!! I'm also irish, just about 18, male, im hung over too.
My advice to you is:
Freisin, má bíonn tú ag caint as gaeilge, cur an bearla in aice an teacst mar bíonn cuille dunne ag tabhairt amach mar ní bíonn siad abailte é a leamh. Failte go dtí an forum! Bain taitneamh as!
Translation:
Also, if you're speaking in Irish, put the English beside it because some people dont like it when they cant read it. Welcome to the forum! Enjoy it!

traditional seems like my kinda thing. most of my interest in europe lies in its history/historical architecture...
but i'm willing to be led astray into other areas of differing interest.
